Im still pretty confident Leandre Griffit is gonna tear the league up
-
Pissed me off. He wasn’t really disrespectful but got panned by Jenas. Each week big club managers that lose say they should be winning and commenting they have better players. So why can’t he say we work harder?

(if we're talking about the same one) the through ball chance is for sure a chance he should score but top top strikers dont score that every single time. The key thing is its his strength and movement that gets the chance. With other strikers at our disposal they dont get across the defenders, get a good touch in and create that chance half so easily as he did. He makes the ball look a great ball in that case - if it was another striker the ball would look like a bit of a lofted waste of a ball that the defenders can easily mop up. Think his ability really helps others raise their game

I think i remember you do/have refereed and so i take it from this that this is your refereeing style. Its a style i like and admire and I wish top level referees could follow suit. Nothing worse for me than watching crap antics i see from top flight players when my 5 yr old plays. That said i believe you are totally wrong in the majority of cases - including in top flight football. There is admittedly other influences from outside players (crowd/manager/press/previous decisions) that make a difference but i firmly believe player chat has an impact. Look at rugby - often stated as the dream way for referees and players to interact... .Alun Wyn Jones is the master of chatting to a referee, it may be politer than just shouting but its complaining and it works and the same goes for top flight footy.

Thank you - interesting

How is sin bin being used? Can see why people are opposed to it but have to say I quite like the idea for professional fouls
-
I know, was just enjoying the previous comment!
-
I think you’re right….. if he doesn’t it his hand on his shoulder I think it isn’t a foul….

(unless that's what's causing the problem)

over the summer i enjoyed listening to a villa fan telling his mate that Grealish going was no problem. Also he really didnt understand why he would move... anyone else that has moved on from Villa hasnt really gone on to do much elsewhere... even Milner I loved this!! Just shows how blinkered we all are as fans. James Milner had a League cup runners up medal at Villa and now has 3 Premier League Champions, 1 FA Cup, 1 League Cup and 1 Champions League ignoring all the Runners ups and Charity Shield, Uefa Super Cup, World Club cup nonsense wins.

Can we have a Turkish vs TWar predictions league please? All prem games scores/results each week. See who wins?
-
You mention expecting Saints and Ipswich to go up but is that possible? From what i saw (very briefly and hard to find out for sure without a little bit of effort) it looks as though the league winner goes in to a playoff. Looks like a playoff with winners of northern league to go up to the championship - if so we need to win this league and then a playoff otherwise its another season of battering teams 9-0 and pointless all round.

So to be clear..... A sign that said "We welcome homophobes" would not be a negative message?

all im saying really is that every deal we make we must think is an offer too good to refuse, there's a myriad of factors around that and some of them include an admittance that the player isnt the perfect one but right at that time. The inference from the post I quoted was that there is no way any other club would want him - i suppose that is different to the people i mention in some ways but I guess overall i'm happy with the way recruitment has moved recently and so happy to let them buy who they see fits - i can be sure they've thought about it more than i have and even if we see risks i cant see that the club don't too but still it works as a deal. Perhaps this does mean we saw him as a cheap option but perhaps that doesnt matter at all. I do know they wont be cursing his signing after one performance.
-
There will be times that's true but cant it be said of every player we've ever signed too. Livramento, Van Dijk, Alderwereild.... Niemi.... can go back and back.
-
of course! was thinking about the penalty not their offside! cheers
-
surely that wouldve been within the added time?! They surely dont hold the board up for added time (excluding VAR discussions)?!
-
Agree, it’s just a statement if fact really, everyone knows it. I guess the question is who will play well enough this season to find a 6 and goalie!? Two v strong right backs may be one too many!
-
do wonder but could be anything - sports poeple have all sorts of ridiculous things they do - couldve done it once and had a good game and done it ever since. Still not a fn myself
-
yeah good point! I think in my head he seemed in front of Ings in the pecking order but no way to confirm that really - just what the press were saying i suppose. Either way neither ings/jwp made it in
-
ill be honest being at saints doesn't look like currently helping your England career so can understand him moving. Look at Ings, in the England squad behind Watkins and i assume will be 1st choice at the same club as Watkins now.... Maybe a bit of age consideration in there too with Ings/Watkins and England but no doubt Ings and JWP just missed out
-
a year closer to 30 makes him less desirable... tell the world 😄
-
But the Scots love the English of course 😆😆 Talk about pick and choosing
-
looking at where he scores from they could play in the same team and be lethal!
-
Totally agree. It’s just the previous shit decisions have forced this one a bit.
