If the first question isn't 1) why did you hire Jones initially and 2) why havnt you fired him yet.....then what a pointless exercise.

It's a very weird and sad state of affairs where I'm hoping we lose on Saturday just so it's even more likely that this imposter gets the boot. I don't really want us to lose but every cloud..

I can accept anyone making a mistake. SR (or whoever) made a mistake hiring Jones. Good leaders learn from their errors in judgement and act quickly to correct them. If Jones isn't gone today then those leading our club will go down in my estimation, even if its tomorrow. It should of been last night, it needs to be today. The true proof of SRs management and leadership is who comes in next. Am I hopeful that will be this week, no. Am I hopeful it will be someone good, no. Depressingly sad times.

Maybe Jones isn't going to be there because he isn't going to be the manager at that point 🤣🤞🤞

As soon as I heard Bednarek was returning I was bemused. As soon as I saw he was playing tonight all the tiny bit of optimism I had for tonight disappeared. He is just awful. Slow, bad positioning bad decisions and can't tackle.

I'm wondering whether we are still after Delap (yeah I know, he's a kid and did nothing at Stoke) even though we have a change of manager. Some players are just better around better players. Jones hinted at getting one done will determine others. I reckon we might be trying to get one player on loan and buy another (striker and winger) rather than having to sign two this window. And then sign the loan player in the summer if all good. Not that I think we don't "have the money" it will be an accounting/cash flow approach. I am generally an optimistic person so will be so for the next two days. Our survival depends on how well it goes!!

I will be disappointed if we do not sign someone who is clearly a striker as opposed to someone like this kid from Rennes BUT what ultimately matters is whether we some how manage to score enough to get enough points to stay up. So if this player or any others and Orsic and JWP playing further forward manage to make this happen and if somehow Adams, Armstrong and Mara do score more regularly because we create more chances then all well and good. If we could somehow get Lucas Moura on loan and another forward/winger plus this Danish CM then what a window that would of been. As it stands it's not a bad one anyway just with the glaringly obvious omission!! Unlike some I think SR have a clear vision and plan and are happy to invest (or at least warrant some spending) and although I was bemused by the Jones appointment and very pissed off at the start the more I see of his team and the more I hear him talk the more I like him. I am actually starting to believe he might actually "have a clue"!! Fingers crossed for 2 or 3 good signings today and tomorrow and some good points in the next 5 games. Got to keep the hope burning!!!

If we fail to get some sort of decent striker in for a second successive transfer window, then we are doomed. None of our choices, (AA, Adams, Mara) would get a game in any team in the PL other than ours and probably quite a few of the teams in The Championship. I like the look or Orsic and Alcatrez, Edozie, Lavia, Caleta-Car and ABK have been good signings. Aribo had been disappointing and Bazunu is at best still developing. Moving JWP forward is something I called for in tne summer so it is great to see Jones do that which does add to our potency. If we can get this Hujiman (or however its spelt) who appears to look a decent DCM and at least one striker we might have a small chance of surviving. A big 7 days for SR I would suggest to get support from tbe sider fanbase and give us hope we are going to improve under them.

I stated on one or two threads over the summer that he needed to be used further forward. Only taken 6 months and a manager who we've all hated for 5 games to make it happen!!!

Well.....thats causing some distress in my head!! We can only judge a new manager by what we see and the last 3 PL games were horrendous. But after that...jeez!!! A one off performance of that nature - even against City - has to buy the man a bit of time, even from me🤣 If this proves to be the standard we produce regularly then we might just have a man to do something. But it is only one great performance after 3 very poor ones. Let's see after Saturday.

WhenJones was linked I was amazed and hugely disappointed. But after reading about him and listening to him speak I was willing to emotionally and with huge hope, give the bloke a chance. Any half decent coach/manager with 5-6 weeks (mid-season) would of ATLEAST instilled some sut of formation and defined methodof play. He is tinkering more than Ralph did, but with 0% of the skill he had. I wanted Ralph to go at the end but this appointment has very quickly turned into quite possibly the worst managerial appointment in PL history! Jones is like the managerial equivalent of Ali Dia!II For the sake of everyone get reel now SR and go get Dyche or Martinez. I'd even take Gary Monk over this clown!!

I dont understand how we have not got at least one signing done and dusted already. We've needed a striker and attackers since the summer and had a 5-6 week break to sort it out too. If you cant get who you want by how are you going to get them at all this month? Maybe I'm being slightly critical so maybe by the end of this week wil be ok, but you probably get my point. Without very swift and decent action this season may well become the worst one EVER.
