The red tide sweeps slowly, steadily and inexorably eastward. It went out for far too long. We're coming for you!

From In That Number (Holley & Chalk) That's some rewriting by the phew! (again).

Great work ethic, a massive engine (reminds me of Telfer's running), gets stuck in which I love but I do fear his sometimes over enthusiastic tackles when we have a card happy ref in charge. However if you take that edge away then we suffer. You can see him unsettling the opposition. What's more..the lad plays with a smile like he's really enjoying it out there.

Super Kelv for me also with mentions to Chappers and De Ridder.

We had a good day out, stopping at the Jeckyll & Hyde (A33) Good beer, sh!te baked potato. Then the Bell at Grazely, where the young numpty behind the bar noticed our sons in colours and actually told me no away fans! Feck me...3 miles off the A33, 2 X 50+ fellas with two young boys....hardly going to tear the place apart! Still served me though...odd. Parked easily at Wharton Grange (£8 and a ten minute walk). Support was fantastic, Reading had really done their homework and encountered us on one of our less inventive days. Chaplow was my man of the match alongside my fellow fans who kept bellowing the ten men on to a point. I feel we are missing Lallana. First time at the Madejski and I was impressed at the way the seating was laid out with a decent drop from row to row. Everybody stood but nippers did not need to stand on their seats. Although I thought that their concourse was rather cramped.

Pure PL greed. No wonder I'm so reticent about Saints making it there, despite the business need.

Steven Davies' injury against us last week

Good luck to the fella, rather frightening to be honest. I hope he recovers fully and soon. -
I've not heard the Bob Marley one but I used to go to Soul Nights in the back bit. Some good nights there. It's a shame and will probably end up as luxury appartments. Very little in the way of Swaythling pubs now I'd imagine.

Driving up with a couple of Ghana Saints. One or, maybe, two stops along the A33 for refreshments. Luuuuuverly!

Saddam was captured by U.S. Troops. There wasn't realistically any hope for Gaddafi if captured by rebel forces.

The words would choke them.

Just in and had my beer. So good to see Alpine enjoying the result and Dalek thinking his idea of 17th may be presumptuous. Well I really thought West Ham would give us a run for our money and maybe, even, grab a draw. I was so wrong, they played very poorly and Carew was rarely useful due to our CBs keeping him in check. The more I see of Hoovield the more I like and I feel that with Fonte this could be a great pairing as they seem to read each other and, when Fonte faffed up, Jos was there to sheperd the player away for only a tame attempt at goal. We had to work at grinding this win out. Guly and Connolly were both working very hard as was 'Mad Dog' Chaplow, my MOTM. Brilliant attendance, brilliant atmosphere and to see us 5 points clear is really exciting. Let's hope the attendances build quickly now to a regular sell out because with the fans now singing from all angles, yes even us Chapelites!, you can see it helping the team. A great evening's entertainment and my cautious optimism is becoming less cautious with every performance like this. -
Possibly because Sheffield Weds were not drawing the same level of attendances every weekend? It was an FA Cup Semi Final between two of the, then, biggest clubs in the English game.

Manny and I? Yes, Firstly Holy Cross in Eastleigh. Same class for the last 3 years also at St George.
-
Yes and there's an older sister, Bella I think.

Pete didn't 'work on the door'. He was the DJ's roadie as I was. Caz Podsadowski did the door along with other Imperial Sports members although sometimes Pete and I would be seconded to taking the admission fees. Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays (free admission in those days)...happy days at the Crown. As to the missing 5,000? There's more missing than that IIRC the 250K on Southsea common!
-
I like that!

Us Eastleigh lads were calling them skates back in the mid 70's. It came from a DJ at the Crown who used to work all the clubs on the naval base down there. We applied it to them knowing they hated the matelots.

A good read and also an accurate summation of the man. I grew up with Manny, going to the same schools, and he always was a likeable and enthusiastic fella. A gentleman.

Specially for the properties along Goldsmith Avenue. Free improvements courtesy of the phew!
-
Perhaps they are happy to do that, considering that some of our most ardent fans travel regularly by the travel club? I think there will be more than enough of us there to sing and carry the cheers of the travel club fans out to the players.
-
Why would it be unfortunate? I'd hazard a guess that most will travel by means other than the travel club, including those from Ghana.
