I think that I can count on the English language to get my point across. However, do we as parents have any say? I already sense that this may well have to be escalated outside of the jurisdiction of an overtly PC headmistress! I don't want to do anything though that might alienate my son, such as asking him to against the class line in using ZEE. It's my battle, not his!

My 7 year son has recently started year two at his school. While testing his spelling yesterday we came upon him using ZEE as opposed to ZED when spelling squeeze. Now there are two separate classes in his year. My wife inquired of the other Mums and found that the two classes are being taught this differently. So before I make a fool of myself and approach my son's teacher, is there a standard which is applicable? Or are we open to an individual teacher's take on the ENGLISH alphabet? I believe that English is a lovely language when spoken and pronounced correctly. I'm already aware that some silly boffins are actually advocating the use of Text Spell in the classroom! So, before I take up the cudgel on behalf of the people who wish to speak and spell English correctly, am I out of kelter on this? I don't wish to see our children 'payntin there faciz all different colors 2 celebr8 labor day'!

Messy house - Not for the faint of heart

How on earth do you know where that mess is situated? Don't be so generalistic in your assumptions, it let's your right wing tendencies show. -
That being the point Mike. 15 / 20 points? Almost certain relegation. Now! Maybe that might be the point at this stage? Take it on the chin? It would all depend when those points are deducted and if it's some now (enough to relegate) and then another lump to start next season? It just doesn't bode well no matter how I look at it. Then when we are in administration who will get to pick us up for nuppence? None other than . . . . like I said, it doesn't bode well at all.

"All fingers poised and ready for action sir!"

Nah, they're Altogether Now.

Despite their new found wealth I would hardly describe Man City as a 'big boot' quite yet! But many thanks to the inhabitants of that far flung Eastern Hampshire island for lifting my spirits. For once I can honestly say that schadenfreude has a nice taste to it sometimes!

Aaaaaah! But time, surely, for one more roll of the dice. How? "Hello Leon?, Yes, errr, it's Mike" "Wilde, Mike Wilde, listen old buddy, errr it's about that little contretemps in the boardroom the other month. I've been thinking and it's maybe time for an apology? Time to bury the hatchet? Metaphorically speaking in a certain Duck Shooter's back?" As Yul Bryner once said "Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera"

Probably closer to the truth than we may realise!

She's off on one again!

Maybe, with the current financial climate, it's Mexican standoff time? Could Mr Fulthorpe be waiting for the banks to come calling? Or can he no longer count on financial muscle himself? To be honest I gave up long ago, not on Saints but on this takeover prospect and I can't now see any mileage in it.

Now, wouldn't you just get on one if someone called you scum? You and Sundance are really something else!

Been using Firefox 3 since release and had no problems. Did install and quickly uninstall Chrome after the furore with the EULA etc. Tempted to download and try again.

But still not as grateful as you?

Just checked all 3 of my different bank statements and can confirm that in this country a billion is indeed 1,000 million. With the 'merger' of HBOS and Lloyds/TSB I'll only have two accounts though. * *Disclaimer:I actually don't have the faintest clue what a billion is. In fact I'd like to have a million pounds sat in my account!

Resign yourself to the thought of relegation. Realise that you have no control over it. One cannot change what one has no control over, Ergo. Do not waste one's time and emotions on that which is unchangeable through one's actions, = no stress. That should stop the runs.

If you mean Limp Biscuit he's actually not their leader.

winning the 4 team mini league relegation lottery

No need to panic. We'll have been relegated long before then  -
What would actually happen should your bank go bust
EastleighSoulBoy replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Lounge
Bradford & Bingley are still struggling I believe. Buy to let mortgages being their particular problem. Nationwide are merging with two smaller 'shire' building societies. Although that is a move which I think was agreed well before all hell broke loose and is not 'out of neccessity'. -
At General Election time I vote for them. To keep those Tories out!

Here goes, probable infraction coming my way! Why do it then? Because you,Sundance, are a particularly nasty piece of work. You complain about other's hostile speech and criticism and yet you glory in all manifests of the derogatory English against your 'fellow' fans. You talk of building bridges, of inverted snobbery and in the next breath you patronise and insult people. Well, you really are an,ah so, that's your ploy! Get it so that all who differ from you leave this forum and then you and Scabby can have it all to yourselves and send your 3 posts a day, congratulating yourselves that you have rid the forum of all the 'flat caps'. Well, go to it Sundunce because we'll be around for a lot longer than you can count on.

1. Current model to be built at Swaythling until 2011 2. A 'commitment' to build chassis cab variants of the 'new' van at southampton from 2011 This means that current volumes of c.70,000 per annum will drop to a forecast of some 30,000 per annum. Oh! (and there's always an Oh!) Ford will review the situation in 2009. Which means that almost any scenario may happen! Radio 1 did lead with 'Transit production to cease at Southampton' on the 15.30 news. The 'new' Turkey plant, Kocaeli, has been operational for at least two years to my knowledge. Don't write it off yet, there may be life in the old girl!
