We fans need to be realistic, probably most of us are. none of us want the likes of Shaw, Lallana etc to go but it happens. For me the one thing that gives me confidence is our Academy, with the calibre and potential of our youngsters coming through it lessens the hit when one of our stars goes. No matter what happens in the intervening weeks of the close season there will be a constant, us fans. And I am looking forward to next season already.

I had one 11 years ago. Maybe I was lucky but I had very little pain afterward. It's a responsible action to take.

I have listened to his apology and his recounting of what happened. Most of you know that I am fervently anti racist so, for what it's worth, here's my view. 1. I declare my view that Clarkson is a buffoon, likeable to many people. He reminds me of Farage, another buffoon (although a leader of a party with definitely racist content). 2. Why was the take not erased totally? Obviously mischief making at some level. Clarkson should have requested that because he raised the concern. 3. Clarkson is odd, no doubt in my mind but then we're all probably odd in one way or another. I really don't think he was being racist with intent. 4. He just needs to think, a little more deeply, about what he says if he doesn't want to try and ride out these **** storms which inevitably come about when he makes such utterances.

You can actually take him somewhere twice. The second time though is to make him apologise.

Managers and players come and go. The club goes down and then comes up. The only constant is us, the fans. No change there then and really no need to worry.

For many, when you take a pet it's an unconditional thing, you raise them, nurture them. They make you angry when they soil or are sick, they make you laugh with their antics. You bond with them. You might even find yourself sharing your thoughts out loud with them. So to lose them is painful and you do get upset and grieve. I've had cats for almost all my life (58 yrs old) and each one's passing is uniquely sad. Sorry to hear of your impending loss.
