Your transfer window predictions for Saints
EastleighSoulBoy replied to The Fat Controller's topic in The Saints
OUT - As many as we possibly can. IN - No more than the two already announced. It's all getting a little too predictable. -
657, ICF, amongst others. He actually only does it to get material for his paperback books. He'd be a Saint if he thought he could get people to open up enough for him to produce another book.

Until someone decides to dob you in.

And there we have it. In just a few sentences.
-
I wonder which 'firm' he's in now?
-
JFK - Dead - well known 'victim' of the coffin nail! Shot by 'Lucky Strike'
-
It's beginning to sound like the needle is stuck.

Askk DD, he's the one who claims he's sane, and we all know what they say about submariners ( and goalkeepers)! Oh! There's one in my family . . . . . . no wonder he's a submariner! :yawinkle:

A very good goal and rather like the Liverpool one (about a minute into the clip). From what the commentator called a corner, but looks suspiciously like a free kick to me! Some of these commentators do amaze me!
-
Further to this, wasn't there a publican in Blackpool who lost his licence because he deliberately encouraged smoking inside his premises?
-
Didn't there used to be games on New years day?

I distinctly remember that in 1976 we played Villa at home on Jan 3rd. So have these dates you mentioned been the standard for long? -
Utopian in your outlook maybe ( a bit like me) but not naive enough to think that Israel will not retaliate. Something which the Iranians should bear in mind. Same sheite, different year!

EastleighSoulBoy replied to Baj's topic in The Lounge
That's right, and the normal Easter would see a Home and away fixture against the same team. If I remember correctly,1976 was Plymouth A on the Friday, Bristol Rovers A on the Saturday and Bristol Rovers H on the Monday. -
I do tend to agree with the point made about smoking and non smoking pubs. I drink in a Working Mens Club, mostly. I suggested in a big debate on this, why can't the members have a vote? Whatever the decision comes to the punters still had a choice to go elsewhere if it suited them. Then maybe after five years, to accommodate changes in membership and attitudes there should be another vote and thereafter every five years? And I positively hate smoking.
-
Just a thought, that maybe other clubs can afford to police this idea with extra stewards?
-
If you saw smoke rising from behind a cubicle door in the toilet at SMS, would it be unreasonable to assume that the occupant is on fire? So that you are at liberty to try and save their life by the liberal application of the contents of a fire extinguisher or hose? They could hardly have a go at you, knowing fully well that you have saved their life!

They already do with specialist drugs for terminally ill people.

I get this issue, on my Gmail account! They all go in my spam folder but it is a bit odd to open the folder and see me as the sender. When I hover my cursor over the me it actually shows nothing. Normally it would show the actual mail address. It's not ****ing me off but I just thought I'd add what little info I have to the debate.
-
That's totally unfair and you know it. They were never as bad as Essruu on a NYE. Or any other day now I think of it. :yawinkle:

With all respect, I think you have missed the point. You were doing something which is illegal. As I pointed out earlier, and supported with a fuller explanation by others, Saints do need your money. However, they are not going to let you smoke in a public place which is under their responsibility. I don't know what their fine would be but I'd hazard a guess that it will be much more than they get from your entrance fee and drinks bill! What you are effectively asking is for the club to risk a large fine in exchange for the c.£40 you'll spend with them. The maths don't work mate.
-
The above, yesterday, 10.06. Prior to your post. I think that you are a little hasty in taking the stance you are taking over this. However, please continue. Further to the asterisk enquiry, what does 'Don't let it happen again' infer? Now before you respond with 'make of it what you will' why not tell me, and remove all chances of a misunderstanding on my behalf?
-
While I appreciate that you need to satisfy a craving you do know that this ban is not going to go away. So you need to find a way around it because no matter how much Saints need fans they will eject you time after time for breaking the law. I've never smoked so I don't fully understand the need, but maybe getting some of that nicotine gum for during the match might help?

The insinuation was actually whether you had anything of value to add to the conversation, other than your half hearted attempts at 'humour'. Indeed you have added quite a diverse comment. So you did prove me wrong. How could I insinuate that you were of any persuasion, considering that you had made no comment of any value at that given time? Now to your last sentence, which came about from your thinking I had insinuated something. Please expand what you mean by 'Make sure it doesn't happen again'? By the way, I couldn't decipher the asterisks so please use words that the filter will not react to.

April 1st is groundhog day in the boardroom at SMS
