From Pat's daughter Tracy's Facebook page: Just to update those that need to know, dad's funeral is on Thursday 31st October at 11am east chapel, Southampton crematorium. If you wish, u may wear a saints shirt or saints colours.

Trying is just not good enough. I know I will get ripped for this, but I have not yet seen anything from him that would justify the money we paid for him. Lots of guys "try", but that doesn't get us anywhere. Scoring is the measure of a forward. Nothing else matters. I wonder if we can still get our money back?

I looked up the definition of the phrase "waste of money". It had a picture of Osvaldo.

Pat was a very long time fan. He used to tell me stories about being in Wembley for the 76 cup final and the subsequent celebrations all over town. He is the one who introduced me to Saints. His brother Jack was the stadium announcer in the Dell at the time. But above all he was a great human being. The world was better place when you were in it Pat.

I just heard from his daughter Tracy that Patrick Fleet passed away. He was a great Saints fan, a wonderful friend and an awesome dad to his kids. We will miss you Pat.

Doesn't surprise me at all. He can't perform in this league so he blames "the physical aspect" of the British game? I guess it makes him feel better about his lack of ability.
-
With NBC now broadcasting every premier league match here in the States I have been able to watch all our games in their entirety. Granted it doesn't give the same perspective as being there, but so far I am not at all impressed with Osvaldo. it seems to me that we spend an enormous amount of money and (so far at least) what we got back we could have gotten from a whole slew of other players for a lot less money.

I would be happy with a draw (but of course happier with a win)
-
Nothing about it on the bbc YET?
-
Great result, but I still don't like the fact that we don't have any decent service to the forwards. So far Osvaldo looks like a colossal waste of money, but with better service he might yet come good?
-
Same problem will persist with pinochio's tactics. Playing the passing game is well and good but it needs an end product. We need balls coming into the box from the wings to serve the strikers.
-
I hope Pinnochio was watching: make sure Ricky gets half decent service and he will score for you and provide great assists.
-
Sameproblem Pinnochio had last season; he likes pretty football but forgets that we need goals! With these tactics we will always struggle. And what did we get for all that money we spent on Osvaldo? Nothing of any value.
-
we spent way too much money on a player with a serious temper problem, and who will be suspended for more matches than the number of games he will be available for. bad purchase.

"clubs like Southampton cannot be champions of England"
offix replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
BS. When Man City were playing in the second division one could have sais the same about them. -
We shouldn't try to get a player who doesn't want to be at Saints heart and soul.

I find it extremely hard to forecast this season. I am not at all sure that MP can create a team that performs with some consistency. We could do really good (like top 6) but I can also see us struggling to survive, especially if he brings in some big egos.

That would be very sweet revenge indeed. I have never forgiven Keane for what he did.
