  1. bad manager + bad team selection + bad formation + horrible defence + impotent strikers This really wasn't a surprise was it? A decent midfield is not enough to make a winning team.
  2. A total nutcase who has a very over-inflated idea of his own capabilities. Couldn't cut it at Saints, couldn't cut it at Juve. Has a nasty violent temper and complete disrespect for teammates and management. Let him rot in limbo.
  3. Bring in Antii Niemi
Translation: "Southampton, the new club of Ronald & Erwin Koeman is interested in both Graziano Pelle as well as Lex Immers. Both players peaked the club's interest because of the incredible scoring record they had in the past 2 seasons under Koeman. They scored a combined 74 goals in the Eredivisie"
  5. Welkom Ronald, Erwin & Jan.
  6. That's because Feyenoord was broke
  7. YYYYYYEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
  8. De Telegraaf: http://www.telegraaf.nl/telesport/voetbal/buitenlands/22741160/__Transfer_voor_Ronald_en_Erwin__.html "Koeman brothers to Southampton"
  9. Dutch papers are reporting that the deal with Koeman is "virtually" done. Galatasaray is still our competition for him, but they expect that if the final details can be agreed upon in the next 48 hours it will be both brothers Koeman to Saints
  10. My brother is an scout/agent in Holland and thinks Koeman is exactly the right choice for us. His teams play good attacking football and he cultivates the youngsters extremely well. I for one would be very happy with him as our manager.
  11. Getting Ranieri (and to a slightly lesser extend Koeman) would be a great signal to the rest of the footballing world that Saints are serious about progressing further and becoming a power player. Moyes and some of the other names mentioned lately would mostly signal that our ambitions are limited to staying in the middle section of the Prem..
  12. Gaston is the kind of player who could flourish under Koeman
  13. My brother, avid Ajax fan living in Holland, tells me that Koeman did a good job at Feyenoord. The club was very cash strapped, and RK brought a lot of youngsters through their academy into the first team. many of those Feyenoord players now selected for the orange Crunch came through that way under Koeman.
  14. Will Saints ever be a "bigger fish in the sea"? EVER is a big word. Sure there may come a time that we can make the jump like Man City have done. It won't be any time soon though. Man City, and earlier in history Chelsea, did it with the power of shedloads of money. Any club can do that given the right filthy rich ownership. But it certainly doesn't look an option for us right now. In my dreams we start the process this summer by getting Ranieri as manager, buying Fabregas and David Villa, but as I said - that's a dream, and they don't often dome true.
  15. Great article from Reuters. I'd be interested to see what you all think about this? ]
  16. One day he is emphatically stating that no key players will leave except on "our terns", next day RL goes for a joke amount. In the next few days ManU will get Shaw. He lies.
  17. I think we are now seeing the reason for MoPo's decision to leave. It was likely clear to him that the Board was not at all committed to (or capable of) keeping key players.
  18. Feels like all that fabulous work Cortese did on the 5 year plan is being dismantled in one summer. As I feared when NC left us; letting him go was a very, very, very big mistake. Next step will be KL selling the club altogether
  19. MoPo has been very good for us. I was very upset when he came on board, but he has done very well. My concern now is that we may have reverted to an attitude on the board that isn't that far removed form the attitude that the board had in the dark days of the duck hunter. We may well return to the days where the only purpose of the academy is to generate money through the sale of any promising player, and not to further the performance of the first team on the pitch.
  20. As I mentioned on another thread - Ranieri
  21. IF MP leaves, could he be a good replacement for us? Would show some serious ambition from the club.
  22. The best interest of the club is also her best business interest. The better we do, the more it's worth.
  23. Looks like the Echo never learns from their mistakes
