Welcome Saint Markus. I have supported this club for 40 + years. It's always been a great club and will now continue to be great club. Thanks to you we can all look forward to our footy again. It seems to me that normal service has finally resumed. We shall return to the top flight soon, I'm convinced of that. We are a premier league club in structure, the squad should be good enough to win this league with a few additions (or play off this year) and it has the best fans in the country that will sing their hearts out for the team. Once we get on a roll, the fans will return in their droves and replicate the atmosphere from the good times. We have a big part to play i and would like to think we could create the electric atmosphere that we did against Sheff Utd season before last. That just shows what the 12th man can do for a team. When we are all pulling in the same direction, we are unbeatable as club. Keep up the good work and we look forward to giving you a warm welcome at your first game against Ajax.

Feedback from 2 Billionaires about buying Saints...
chappers replied to bigdavewatson's topic in The Saints
Thankfully, I have never met him. No this Guy has bought (UK football club), successfully run the it (promotions/silverware) and then sold it on. ....and I know he'd take it on with the right backing and more importantly make it a success ! -
Feedback from 2 Billionaires about buying Saints...

Bigdavewatson... If either of these two contacts were interested, I can put you in touch with someone who has a) and b) and a lot more......also I am sure he would be very, very interested in taking on the role. What do you think ? -
sky sports reporting that keegan was at SMS yesterday......anyone see him ?

according to Tony Lynham, the buyer is worth several hundred million.... Rod Stewart is only worth 100 million according to sunday time rich list. As the open letter says a) he's buying and b) he's committed to investing into the playing squad whch will get them to the premiership in 5 years, its got to be someone with very substantial wealth. IMO its going to take 15-20 million to wipe the debts and clear up the mess ....and then at a minimum of 20 million to get us decent players....more like 40 million over 5 years if we going to get back to the top flight. Therefore, logic would say no one is going to spend 50% of their fortune on Saints (especially if not a fan). Lets hope the guy gets passionate about Saints allowing us to leave the past ,move on ......and finally unite !

On solent at 8.45am today. Fry turned down a swiss based company worth £10 biilion ....did not say who it was though.
-
Yes it was me ....I did not say he would be manager or i think he's the right choice.....just a hunch. To manage in the third tier of professional football, Le Tiss as a pro of more than 10 years automatically qualifies to coach at that level. He does not have to do the basic qualications that non pros have to. However, I beleive he would need the pro licence to manage in the championship. Alan Shearer said he did not want to manage, he then said he would not mind giving it a go....and now there he is. If Le Tiss did want to manage or become an assistant manager along side somebody else then this division would be a good starting point. I oftern wonder why we have never used him before especially in the Acadamy. At the end of the day, personally i think Mark Wotte is not right for this club. By my own admission, I would prefer somebody with football pedigree and has at least won a promotion with another club.....and if Le Tiss was invloved I would happy for him to have a go.
-
Just a hunch. (not a rumour etc) This will week there will be a press conference to say there is a preferred bidder, in which they have approx 2 weeks to complete the deal. Once the deal is concluded..... There will be another press conference to announce that a) Mark Wotte has left the club/stepped back into Acadamy role b) Matt Le Tissier is the new Manager ! Now that would unite the fans......especially if he could manage as well as he played. Keep believing, come on you reds !

I can uderstand why Nickg has to keep quiet. Lets all calm down ...think sensibly and positive about SFC. This club ain't going to disappear. Even in todays market its far to valuable to let go. anyway Nicks clues are in the thread....How many names have been mentioned ? I can think of of Probable bidders so far Mark Jackson (already mentioned by NICKG as bidding) Tony Lynam (Le Tiss) (already stated intentions....probably bidding if not already done so) Geurnsey lot (asked for Cash deal only - probably will be rejected as no business plan in place) Potential Bidders Greame Souness (has appeared before - knows the club...knows the potential) Rufus Brevit (ex QPR player - linked with taking over swindon - registed new company SFC) Candy Bros (moaco based....could be Tony Lynam lot) Stuart Green (may have had meetings with Fry) Merrington/Fulthorpe (Have openly expressed interest) Cresswell/Paul Gregg (Ex everton owner) Also mentioned Rod Stewart (not likely to lead a consortium and could buy it on his own) Glenn Hoddle (already heaviliy involved in HIS own business - very unlikely) Therefore if anybody wants to add to the list with a small description, we can take our pick from that My money is on Souness.... However ....I don't mind who it is as long as they a) have the cash to take us out of admin b) c) Run the club..like a football club ...ie pick a manager...let him manage....rather than some stupid experient) C) have some ambition to return us to top flight football......where we belong. Since I type this a few others have started similar...so if anyone want to compile a definitive list be my guest. Nick...keep up the goodwork....at the end of the day all this does not really matter its just to keep us going while we wait for new arrival.

-
I have not bought a ticket yet. but will be going tomorrow. I will be taking my 2 nippers and any others I can round up. This is about us being alive until we can find a buyer. Yes we want to win. But the most important thing and the only thing that counts at this stage is BUMS ON SEATS

Barclays: "Significantly increase attendances" AND "sell players"
chappers replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
As much as i dislike RL, Barclays have probably done the same thing to other businesses. I know for a fact they cut money paid to suppliers, as my firm is one of them.....why....because they could. Therefore, as for Barclays like the other banks in the same mess (caused by them) , then it makes sense to get its customers to repay some of the debt just to relieve the strain on Barclays. If anyone else who work for a firm that works with Barclays and has suffered the same thing, i'd like to know. At the end of the day SFC has been a victim of poor management from inside the club on a variety of important issues ....but the killer appears to be the lack of due diligence shown by Barclays by lending us money we could never afford ......and then demanding back without negotiation ! Lets hope at least 1 out of 31 intersted parties can a) put us on a sound financial footing and b) run it like a football club .....like we used to be ! COYR. -
I am a lifelong Saints fan and now live in Christchurch. We should think positively about a new dawn for SFC now that those incompetent people have gone. I sent the wife upto Southampton to get 10 tickets for me, the kids and some of their friends. Now is the time to show real investors we are worth buying. So, if you have not got your ticket, please join the masses returning to SFC....and lets start taking the club forward.
