Hindsight is a wonderful thing. With what has gone since then no doubt the 80s were some of the best times for Saints - but given that Nicholl has such a wealth of talent at his dispossal, at the time there was general dissatisfaction with what we achieved under him. Granted if we knew what was to follow ...................but at the time we were not happy supporters. Are we ever?

The service was a credit to Southampton...the city and the club. The only disrespect was mobile phones ringing - that is just plain thoughtless. I also enjoyed chatting to other Saints fans that I don't normally meet (ie don't sit or drink where I do on match days)....sitting on the wall with the 2 guys from Salisbury, the blonde girl at the back of the church who did have the sense to turn off her mobile (but wouldn't give me her number so I could test it!) and the guys in the pub after - even if one did have Hammond on the back of his shirt - so must be questionable.

Relax and don't jump on bandwagons that you have no first hand knowledge of. There was no disrespect shown by any of the team and certainly no BBB - whatever that is. It was a good service and respect shown all round - except by those that left mobile phones on to ring during service readings.

The people that don't know how to conduct themselves were at the back with mobile phones ringing........

I would hope that our players are motivated as they could be and have a must win mind set, every game. Nothing to do with events this last week.
