  1. Happy to put this thread to bed now😉😄
  2. No need to apologise! We really are crap 🤣 I have to say it's doing my nut in seeing us hanging on with so many poor performances. The Bournemouth game won't be forgotten for a long time. And yet despite all of that, we could beat Forest and be 3 points from safety with 3 games to play. Until the other sides actually put us out of our misery, we stumble on😇
  3. Read my post again☺️ It's not about positivity, it's just that we still have a route out. That is purely down to the other clubs being fairly hopeless as well. Leeds have taken 1 point from their last 6 games, conceding 22 goals!
  4. So the most we can go into the final day with is 33 points. I fully expect us to be relegated, however Leeds are tanking big time. A win at Forest would give us one final glimmer of hope. Yet many of us are already checked out for the season, because we have little to no faith in this team. And for good reason. This is what makes this season's relegation scrap so hard to predict. We actually might do it, despite being utterly crap🤣
  5. Oh it's desperate stuff now!😄 Have to assume City will be a defeat, so that leaves us on 23 points from 30 games. Anything we take from that would be a huge bonus. The Bournemouth game will be an absolute must-win. No ifs or buts. The only thing keeping us in the game is our proximity to 17th, still just 4 points. But lose the next two games and we'll likely be 7 or 8 points adrift, which will more or less seal our fate.
  6. Best value: Claus Worst value: Carrillo
  7. Well, we are finally at the business end of the season! We have actually managed to stabilise our GD, which has gone under the radar a bit. After NJ's crash and burn spell, we were on -22 after the Wolves games. Six games on and we are on -23. Fine margins but this could ultimately be the difference between finishing 17th or 18th. Selles deserves a lot of credit for this. A miniscule chance but worth mentioning if we can beat the Hammers by 2 goals and Everton lose by 3, I think we will *just about* be out of the drop zone come Monday night on goals scored with the same GD. Fingers crossed!😇
  8. He's doing OK so far. We are very poor and our squad isn't up to the task. Jan signings have delivered very little so far - think 98/99 when we had players like Marsden, Kachloul and Pahars coming in and boosting the team. That's what you need in a scrap.
  9. Just a desperately poor result last night. If we'd won we would be in 16th place this morning. Conceding that 2nd goal right at the end just rubs salt into the wound, given how poor our GD is relative to our relegation rivals. And yet despite all this, the bottom half is still ridiculously tight. It's going to be a while yet before our fate is confirmed. Palace sinking fast and Leicester also struggling. It's the hope that kills you though 😄
  10. Exactly! Feels so harsh that we are bottom still. But 7 points out of last 12 means we have something to build on. Clean sheets also a massive bonus. Carry on at that rate, we would have 43pts by the end of the season! It's really not over yet.
  11. Hadn't actually clocked the bottom nine clubs are separately by just 6 points. So things getting even tighter as the season comes to a close. The last three games for Saints are intriguing, if we can get to that point where survival is still possible. Fulham at home, Brighton away then Liverpool at home. Fulham and Brighton have done fantastically well this season, will they still be in with a chance of European football, or will they be the best of the rest with little to play for? All hypothetical but if the latter then we'd surely have *a little* more hope? Liverpool should be in or around 3rd come the final game, I really don't want us having to get something from that game to stay up!
  12. Can't believe Man U lost 7-0 today! Wonder how that will pan out for us...hopefully they will be still be in shock and we can nick a point (or more)☺️
  13. Good grief, this bloody football club! What a win. Brings us back in touch with the rest of the relegation battlers. Next up Man U away. A free hit for us really, anything there would be a bonus.
  14. Aargh! This bloody football club. Massive, massive disappointment yesterday. A point would have been a decent return, but to lose in such a crappy game is galling. With 14 games left, we are now 4 points from safety (effectively 5 points with GD). However the bottom 8 teams only have 7 points between them. It's still ridiculously tight and will remain so for a while yet. We need the St Mary's crowd to get right behind the players against Leicester. A draw would be the absolute bare minimum, but we have to win this one really. We are by no means done for yet.
  15. Absolute classic. Yeah, feel free to check out the G-EELS website: https://g-eels.com/ "We are based at Gloucestershire Airport. During the winter months our aircraft was used to transport valuable live baby eels (glass eels) all over Europe for restocking and farming. Currently due to BREXIT restrictions we have had to pause our glass eel operation. Over the summer months our aircraft can be hired for a variety of other operations."
  16. Yeah, we can't afford to lose against the teams around us (or if we do, we can't afford more than the odd one). The bottom nine clubs are only separated by 8 points though. Very, very tight.
  17. Still in shock at the Chelsea game and how the team performed under Selles! Like night and day! So we have 15 games left. A draw at Leeds would be acceptable tbh. Absolutely essential we don't lose. Leicester at home - a win would give us 7 points from 3 games. 5 pts from 3 games still perfectly fine, but really important we don't lose. As things stand West Ham look in big trouble, as do Leeds. But I think its going to go to the final day whatever!
  18. He's obviously a very smart bloke and I wish him well. It's still a massive gamble, if Rupert Lowe was still in charge the fans would be going nuts! They promised NJ time with the "new weapons" at the fans' forum and they gave him one game. So forgive me for the lack of trust in what they are doing, because it feels very much like they are totally winging it.
  19. Look at his background, it's the perfect quirky fit for our board. Seems to have a really good profile in many media outlets, nearly every sentence refers to him as "highly rated". In terms of his ability to hit the ground running as a Premier League manager, he has zero experience and would represent another massive gamble after the massive gamble appointing NJ.
  20. I feel we need a draw minimum at Chelsea. Another defeat will just compound the terrible slump we find ourselves in.
  21. Marsch is free and we won't need to pay compensation. Don't underestimate how important that is with relegation looming...
  22. Still feel the same
  23. Share many of your views, I'm not optimistic at all! But Forest have managed to get 11 points from their last 5 games, which has massively improved their position. So there is some hope if we can somehow get some decent results going...
  24. So then, 17 league games left this season. We currently have 15 points from 21 games. Our GD is terrible at -21, only Bournemouth are worse on -24. West Ham currently in 17th place on 19 points with GD of -8. So we are effectively 5 points from safety. But only 6 points away from Leicester in 14th (or 7 if you take GD into account). With the bottom 3 not cut adrift, I personally think the magic number for safety this season will be 37 points. So we will need to win 6, draw 4 and lose 7. Or any combo that makes up 22 points. A big, big ask!
  25. https://www.lutontoday.co.uk/sport/football/luton-town/former-forest-and-qpr-boss-paul-hart-leaves-his-role-as-luton-town-academy-director-4013309 Watch this space...be interesting to see if he comes in to help NJ out for a few months!
