  1. So out of interest - How many sold equals us selling out ?
  2. Saints will dominate the game and come thru 2-0 winners. Barnard to score them both. I'm sure there will be a few that will find some bad points if we do win though. Can't believe the negativity about this forum - especially since we have finally got a wealthy backer and the future hasn't looked so bright for years.... lots of years. I'm going to really enjoy this season.
  3. Cheers Nick, White and one. Oh... you meant... Bring on Saturday - C'mon You mighty Saints.
  4. For the locals - how has Harding Been in the friendlies. ? Was one of our more solid performers from last years "match reports and online comments " Which, bar the radio coverage is about all I can base my opinion on (on a totally off note... finally get to see Fowler play for my local club:)
  5. My PNE mate agrees he has talent but goes missing too often. Also said he is on a high wage so I imagine he wouldn't want to drop it too much if at all. Hoping that Saints have the willpower to make sure they don't overpay players.
  6. Isn't Cortese doing a good job though ? Seems to me he has done well. I daresay after the circus and staff changes over the last few years stability is a breath of fresh air for the club staff. Besides... Slag off your boss at your own peril
  7. I reckon we will bring in one or two players that will surprise us ( in a good way ) and give us the feel good factor back. Speaking of which - has a predictions thread started yet >
  8. Too be fair we 'are' slow starters. I'm all for a few 1-0 ground out wins - ugly footy if need be. Most of us I'm sure are not putting too much stock in the pre-season results. Bring on the start of the season.
  9. Has Vassell ever changed his log on name. Would he have gone with a bit of Turkish flair but then changed when he had only scored 4 goals ? Still think it's a small possibility he will sign. Maybe with a release clause if a higher divy club comes in ???
  10. Get your tickets quick people... Apparently tickets are selling very well Four days of the 2010-11 Ashes have sold out in Sydney and Perth and the opening day of the first Test in Brisbane is nearly full after two weeks of ticket sales. Less than 100 general reserve seats remained on Friday afternoon for the series start at the Gabba on November 25, but there is still plenty of space available for Boxing Day in Melbourne. The first three days in Perth, which hosts the third Test, are full along with the opening day of the final match in Sydney.
  11. Would love to see him playing off RLGM. 30, Free agent, needing to find his goal scoring touch, and willing to join a team with drive and potential. Hell it says a decision will be made at the end of the week - So until then I'd say it's possible
  12. Could this be the chance for Lee Holmes to try and cement the left wing. Actually in saying that - I better check to see if he has even been in the pre-season friendlies Interesting story there about Vassell as well - Could be a bargain
  13. ARGH Damn 3 Months. Back in the UK for a quick op and will miss the start of the season. Did Butterfield play the RB role in the latest friendly ?
  14. Weird one. Doesn't Seaborne also play as a Left Back ?
  15. For sure. Suicide to get rid of him now. Give him all of next season. He has a clean slate ( no -10 points ), a team he has made his own and also that is beggining to remember how to win. Considering we were prtty much at our lowest point in our most recent history ( or possibly ever ) when AP took over I think he has done a great job. Looking at the poll it shows over 90% of Saints web fans want him to stay - I daresay the general public would feel the same as well
  16. Far out... this has been the most enjoyable season for FERKIN AGES. We win more often then not - we have won our first silverware in ages (34 years - MY LIFETIME !!!! - try telling all the other league 2 and 1 teams is a tin pot trophy ) Miserable sod... Rome wasn't built in a day. As a team we have needed this season to get back the passion, the desire and the actual ability to win. I think there's too many Premier/Championship manager players out there thinking it's as easy as clickingn a button. What ever happened to supporting your team thru thick and thin ? We will be back - it might not be today, hell it might not even be tommorow but we will be back.
  17. Good at the cricket though
  18. Whilst reading the Soccernet report on the match ( Pompey Vs Chelsea ) I read this - Financially-stricken Portsmouth, who learned before kick off they would be allowed to sell players outside the transfer window, lined up in a defensive 4-3-2-1 formation at a rain-soaked Fratton Park. Surely this is going to open up a massive can of worms and makes a mockery of the 'Transfer Window' Apologies if there is already a thread in regards to this point.
  19. Cheers Mate - Saving my dollars and the Aussie dollar is reasonably strong so hopefully the dream comes true soon. I just wish I could have seen a few games at The Dell
  20. As a young lad I went from AFL ( Aussie Rules Footy ) to play 'soccer' as it gets called here. Started watching the premier league games as that's all we got here at the time to try and learn a bit more and instantly fell in love with the game. Couldn't actually believe how skillful it was. A certain MLT took my interest with his skill and so I started following Saints more. Love an underdog and we certainly were at the time. Took my interest a bit further , found more about the club and before I knew it I was hooked. To top it all off at the end of our season we were all given Mugs from premier teams.. as Chance had it I was given a Saints one as well ( Still have it ) - Fate surely Now every year I hope for those numbers to come in on the lotto so I can spend some quality time cheering on Saints , getting to meet the local lads and the city.
  21. So where does it leave us OS supporters who have never actually set foot in Southampton ? Been following Saints for many a year, spent ridiculas hours at night listening to games and spending more dollars then I care to count on getting goodies shipped half way across the world. One day.. I will be there - and I will be the loudest bloody supporter you've ever heard...
  22. Wouldn't the team they were to be playing against just go thru to the next round automatically. Surely you would have to favor the winning team and not the losing team ( Shrugs )
  23. Saints 2 - Pimple 1 Lambert (2)
  24. Cheers Gecko I'm pretty sure there a few bannana bender saints fans around... If not luck on this thread there might be a few on the Aussie Saints thread. Hmm I wonder if any of the pubs will open for it that early.
  25. Bugger only Setanta here is it tpbury... Sad I think one of the lads here was orgainsing a crew to watch it.. Surely this is game of the round.
