There does always seem to be one "Hate Figure" - Perhaps hate is a bit harsh - but certainly one player that a section of supporters cant understand how he gets into the managers plans etc. I hate seeing/hearing our own players get slated from our fans. In fairness though - I sure have mentioned on times a curse or two because I thoguht a certain player wasnt "up to it" - all part of being an Armchair expert I guess On another note - Even though 3 goals were scored how was Boruc's performance ? He seems to have a fair left peg on him so would he be out of place in the left sided forward/winger role ? I guess we have Adam and Ramirez that can play there also - but they "seem " to be both playing a more central role. regardless it will only be hard work and determinnation that will get Lee back into the team ( OK Injuries aside ) and that can only be a good thing. Once fit I can see Cork going straight back into the team in the place of JWP. Morgan, Jack and Steve looks a lot more solid midfield with our more pacey, creative players working the wings for Rickie and JRod (Please can we just play him in the striker role )

So are we putting him down as a forward who can play on the right side of the park. Or will he be coached into being a Winger ? Too Early ?

I think Nigel will be looking at Davis to become more involved with the running of the team, coaching and helping the youngsters as well as still fighting for his place in the teams., The words that Nigel used when referring to KD just had me thinking he is now not a throw away - but of use to the team/Club in other ways. I don't think the OP was trying to be rude or disrespectful - choice of words may not have been everyone's cup of tea - but I dare say he (Davis) is going to have a very hard time of it getting back to being Saints #1 - Here's hoping he rams these words down my throat with some class A goalkeeping in games to come.

Well in all honesty we are 1 point behind where I thought we'd be after 4 games. Albeit with a slightly larger GD than I thought. We have had an immensely tough start to the new campaign, for me its now how the players and coaching staff learn and rise from this. I've seen some good football played by us which is more impressive considering the opposition and the fact that we are in effect playing a new system to our previous two years.

Looking forward to see him play - Seen Japan play plenty of times ( sadly sometimes being a convict ) but their defense has been generally solid. As always its about how the 'partnership' goes but intially I think he'd need a Vocal, commanding DC next to him - Unsure who would be the better in Jose or Jos. In saying that - as many have mentioned - Our defense has had a real baptism of fire and perhaps we need to get them a few more game to decide. Sadly - Points matter

A very good point. We have been challenged - I guess it's all about how quick our defense learns to adapt.

I've never understood that belief to be honest.... I get told you get much more time on the ball in the premiership - from what I've seen you get less.... Perhaps the pressure is what makes players perform better in the higher leagues. Regardless - Hope that Morgan... and players like Punch show that they can cut it and indeed play to a higher calibre in the higher leagues Also.... C'mon RLGM - Lets all back the Great season !!!

But you forget the sunny conditions and famous beaches Ha-ha... I guess that was refreshing to hear from Ramirez to say he is coming here for the money.... slightly adjusted for the 'official' interview Just cant see a 37 year old fitting into Saints current game plans... talented still, no doubt.

A fair comment Alps.. But that tackle last night.. Was a bit ...errr "keen" to say the least. I am also in the opinion that we spent cash a bit too far forward ( as much as we needed pacey wide players ) but have thought (personaly) that in the 3 games I've seen - sadly only on TV here in Australia - That both defenders have been 'as good' as each other. JF tired in the United match ... then again so did most our players. Guess I'm not arguing at all.... Hoping that our defence might be a bit more solid in future games against opposition that are supposed to be weaker than the Manchester teams

According to the Aussie papers here they have offered him 2 million ( I presume A$ ) to play. Sadly the A-League has had a few "past" players join - most ended up being money grabbers with no heart ( Dwight York excemtped - he was awesome ) = Please don't look up Brian Deane....

Was one of the players we signed that was always expected to do better in the premiership ( Or Higher leagues ) than in the football league. I was never a big believer in that 'thought' - football being football... But can only hope we get more peformances like that in the future. More of the same Mr S.....

Just as a view point - there's a lot of slating of JF... but JH has given away 2 (clear) penalties in defence. Are we not happy with general positioning or marking with our defenders - or lack of application or concentration ?

A shame.. I thought we were a very good team tonight... Just couldn't get that extra goal and/or hold on. Can only take this attitude into our next games and press for points. Still a bit dubious about our defence - The again we have challenged the 2 Manchester teams .... Feeling a bit low....but know if we take this attitude into every game from now on we should survive.

Ok the transfer window is now closed. So for me a fairly good, in fact very good off season in regards to purchasing players. Personally still a bit dubious about our defence and hope we may get in another centre half. What's fans thoughts on any loan options

Were we playing with a flat 3 in midfield , Two wingers and a lone striker ( supported by the wingers ? ) Quick look on the OS has Crosby mentioning a 4-1-4-1 and also 4-3-3 ? Seen a bit of talk from a few of the coaches about trying new systems/formations then what we played last year but want to get those that saw the game to elaborate on what they think we were playing. So far a good pre-season although like most I'd love to see a few more new and quality players come in.

Far out I read that as Fonte and thought - gees we really need to bring in more defenders fast - *takes a deep breath and re-reads* So chances of us bringing in another LB or will Shaw step up to challenge Fox ?
