11 goals in his last 23 games, including four in the Champions League and one at Anfield. Now up to 14 goals in 18 games for Portugal's U21s after his summer haul too.

Chelsea only willing to let Hudson-Odoi leave on loan. Wages are £150k per week (!) but they're willing to support some of that for clubs that can't facilitate that themselves. Callum Hudson-Odoi set for Chelsea loan exit as Todd Boehly pleads with winger not to force permanent transfer | Evening Standard

Bloke's a walking yellow/red card. He'd be suspended half the season.
-
Wolves have hardly spent anything (net) in the last couple of seasons, plus their revenues in the latest accounts are about £35m-£40m higher than ours.
-
Interesting to see Trevoh Chaloboah's name on that Chelsea U23 list. We've been after a right-sided centre-back and I've always liked the look of him when he's got game time for the first team. Latest reports suggest they are willing to let him leave on loan if the right offer comes in.

We’re one of several Prem clubs to have shown an interest in James Garner according to David Ornstein of the Athletic. United want £14m for him, was on loan at Forest last season

Something a bit more light hearted, I can’t be the only one who has noticed the genius behind our choice of song over the tannoy in the stadium depending on the opposition/context of what’s going on generally? The best game for it was the cat related theme when we played West Ham (Zouma). Highlights from the Leeds game: “I’m still standing” by Elton John (reference to the club email to fans this week?) American Idiot (Jesse Marsch?)

We’ve never been able to defend whatever the formation so at least 4 at the back gives us more going forward, as it did in the last 20 minutes today.

There's no smoke without fire, as they say, even if a lot of these type of stories are sensationalised. Clearly someone/maybe a few people within the club want him gone and have 'sold' that story to the Mail so it's not good whatever way you look at it. One of the rumours in the summer I remember reading was that he would be given until the international break at the end of September to turn things around which seems a fair marker for the board to judge him on whether he's turned fortunes around, even if I'd happily see him gone now. Semmens has been fiercely loyal to him (most managers would have gone after one 9-0 defeat, let alone two) but even he can't stick by him if we're pointless and rooted to the bottom by the end of August, surely.

Carabao Cup 2nd Round draw - Cambridge (a)
Saint_lambden replied to Pamplemousse's topic in The Saints
*Cardiff's reserves. All nine Championship teams that played League One or Two sides last night lost, which shows just how 'seriously' they are taking the competition. -
It'll be just as hot at 6pm. Given the rail strikes on Saturday too, moving the time a couple of days before kick-off would be ridiculously unfair on anyone who has already had to adjust their travel plans once.
-
Because he's awful. Last seen getting ripped to shreds by West Ham in the Europa League.
-
Dyche won't get many shouts because of style, but we'd at least be tougher to beat if he came in and may well be the most realistic contender.
-
We can't even lose properly under him. With money spent and a new coaching staff, there's nowhere else to turn now. Be amazed if he lasts the international break, if the owners have anything about them.
-
Emerson's been watching Son dive so much over the last year he's doing it himself now...
-
He can play LCB too.
-
We did a goal!!!

McCarthy at his near post. Shock.

Pompey v Saints B Team Hampshire Senior Cup
Saint_lambden replied to Master Bates's topic in The Saints
Considering we've got Villa way on Friday 16th Sept, it's unlikely we'd see any first teamers. Pompey have a game on Tues 13th Sept so would be a young team for them too, if it is indeed played on w/c 12th Sep as the article suggests. -
Bad start which sees us in the bottom three, Ralph to be gone during September international break. Recover under new manager to finish 14th.

In fairness, on the striker front and the lack of signing yet, many clubs are in the same boat. Villa - Passively on the hunt for one knowing that Ings will probably only have one more season in him at this level. Brighton - Have needed a clinical striker for about 2 years Everton - Need another option now Richarlison has left as only really have DCL Leeds - Looking for another striker given Bamford's injury record and that Rodrigo is crap Man United - Discontent with Ronaldo Newcastle - Been trying to sign a marquee striker all summer as Wood/Wilson perceived not good enough for next level West Ham - Clearly trying to sign one as only really Antonio on the books with Broja and many others linked. Wolves - Desperately need more firepower with Silva gone out on loan (shite anyway) and Jiminez not looking the same player post-injury. Suspect there will be a lot of movement come the latter part of the window and a bit of a domino effect. Not ideal for us at all.

Someone I know who follows the MLS a bit says we're one of a few clubs, including West Ham and Leeds, who are interested in Valentín Castellanos. Striker who plays for New York City FC and doing very well by all accounts. NYCFC are part owned by City Football Group so given our recent business with Man City, we might have some connections to do a deal? (last bit only speculative). Suspect West Ham buying Broja rules them out. Link to Leeds makes some sense as they need a striker too and Marsch knows the MLS well.
-
(At least one) striker, a number 10 and some full-back cover and we've had a superb window.
-
No Broja in the squad, confirmed. https://twitter.com/ChelseaFC/status/1545743039192190977?s=20&t=gzJXBVvCjt9akjBjZyQKaw
