Pardew must like him- he was prefering Hayden to Mascherano at W.Ham in 06/07. Plenty of experience but not really the type of midfielder we're looking for and £1 million would put huge pressure on him to do well especially as he's currently a skate.

He would still be fantastic in League 1 when he gets his match fitness back- a good pre-season if we got him in early would soon be back to his best. -

Sparv according to the tinternet signed for Gronigen in January so I don't think it's likely, one to bid for the future if..sorry when! we get to the championship. Did great in the Under 21 championship last year, Still think we should go for Danns but he got sent off tonight for a stupid headbutt... -

At fault? And what opportunity since the start of the season has Pardew had to play him, I know Wotton is terrible but until Saturday we have had something to play for in every game. Gillett played a few games when he was on loan at Donny in October/November but I can't see him coming in for the last 2 games or next season- he will probably leave with many other fringe/useless players like Molyneux, Pulis and all the other Lowe garbage. Right-Back's we could look at: Nathaniel Clyne- Crystal Palace: Young player who's quick and Palace need the money- maybe a cheeky double offer for him and Danns? Frank Simek- Sheffield Wednesday : American who's experienced but only 6 games under his belt this season. Adrian Mariappa- Watford: 23 year-old who has captained his team earlier this season and can play centre-back as well as right-back although CB is his natural position. Sam Hutchinson- Chelsea: Can also play centre-back but prefered at RB. Came on against Stoke yesterday to set-up Frank Lampard to put Chelsea 5-0 up. Kyle Walker- Spurs: Played regularly for Sheffield United when on loan there until January when he was called back as cover by Spurs. Played solidly in a 2-0 win over Pompey. Moritz Volz: As mentioned before, still unattached and has prem experience at Fulham- still only 27 so a very good age to give him a 2 year deal. Any other suggestions? -
TBH I don't think he would break into Reading's first 11 yet as they have a right winger in form ATM in Jimmy Kebe. I'm sure by him just listening to the crowd yesterday chanting "Pardew Pardew sign him up!" he would have felt even more at home here. Give him a good contract- say 3/4 year deal and everyone will be happy I would offer Waigo a deal as well but I'm sure his wage demands will be a bit higher than Antonio's and could we guarentee him first-team football?

That Jay Emmanuel-Thomas on loan at Doncaster has scored quite a few since moving there on loan from Arsenal, can play in front of the back 4 and in CM but does well going forward. According to his Wiki page he can also play up-front if needs be. At 6ft 2 and only 19 he looks promising.. A cheeky bid or loan for the season? -
Well I suppose the FlyBe branding on the seats will have to go and they will no doubt be solving the beer situation. I have heard the food supplier inside the stadium are not having their contract renewed so much of the food may change next season :smt016

He scored at the weekend for Anderlecht to win the League for them... Not for me though=; -
+1 Nobody would ever be as bad as that guy for the Leeds game. The ball just wasn't gonna go in last night, if we we're still there now it would still be 0-0. One of those nights- just the wrong time to have it

Do we really deserve to get promoted...?
Saint_lambden replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
Well the stats tell their own story- we deserve promotion but that -10 in the end will probably cost us a play-off place (not that I haven't given up hope yet- we can still do it!). But like Leroy Rosenior said on the FL show last night, we have to get over that and just win our last few games, that's all we can do. We must be doing something right as they always say, a team that doesn't necessarily play that well (yesterday) and still win are a good side. Tuesday is massive, and I don't expect Oldham to come and not bother as they aren't safe yet and they will have one eye on how Tranmere are doing in the other game v Brentford. COYR -

Yes some Championship clubs may be impressed by him but TBH I think he's not totally ready for championship football every week- League 1 yes. I don't blame him for not wanting to talk about contracts- he is focused on the next 6 games and no more. -

Antonio said after Charlton that he's happy here as 18 months ago he was in non-league football and he is delighted to be playing for "a big club like Southampton". He will sign on small wages and another great spot from Pardew -
Exactly. Brizzol on Tuesday is our hardest game left, win that then we should win the others. One game at a time though, it's win or bust on tuesday now

A pompey fan on 606 decided it was a good idea to make a joke about it saying that: " I wonder if Shirley towers would be a nice place to relocate?"

2-1 home win again.. Barnard + Fonte header from corner MUST win for us COYR
-
Hopefully Oldham can get at least a point at Huddersfield tonight, however unlikely that is. I can only see Hudersfield dropping points against Milwall (losing) and possibly draws against Colchester + Brentford, the others you would say they should win. Then again our next two games are our toughest left, Charlton (H) + Brizzol Rovers (A). 6 points there and you never know.

Oh my Darlingtons ground/crowd is embarrassing. Why on earth did their chairman think that building a 25,000 seater stadium was a good idea?

Saints V Orient Post Match Reaction Thread

Poor display but a win is a win. If we play like that on Saturday, Charlton will turn us over. Scowcroft for them caused so many problems and I'm a bit worried about how Seaborne will cope in the next two games as he was shaky today. Lallana was quality, a rare bright spark in the team. Barnard must have been gutted to come off, even when he doesn't have chances he runs his socks off. I would have taken Puncheon off myself. Schneiderlin was another who disappointed, he is probably not fully fit yet or was it the haircut?! 3 points on Saturday is massive. COYR
