  1. Depressingly short of depth in some key areas. I'm sure we'll add one or two more but if it remains like that I'd be inclined to go with 3/5 at the back to negate the lack of quality in RM/LM positions. --------------------------------Forster------------------------------- ------------Bednarek--------Vestergaard-------Salisu--------------- ---KWP---------------------------------------------------Perraud--- ----------------Romeu-------JWP-------Armstrong----------------- -----------------------Ings------------Adams-----------------------
  2. Which is never.
  3. Sounds like the strategy they adopted for their recent manager search, except all of them apart from Nuno said no.
  4. I presume we won't be staying at the Marriott in Swansea this time?
  5. He really didn't have that good of a season. He turned up and looked decent against the 'big six' sides (surprise, surprise) but when it came to the crunch he was anonymous as usual. £5m and I'll give him a lift to wherever it is.
  6. It's this basically and is as much as Martin Semmens said at the Fans' Forum. I think we were clearly 'picked' by Gao because he had connections to the city through Sunseeker but once he bought us (or not long after), it wasn't what the original investment was intended to be and he wanted out. Those running the club like Semmens and Co denied Gao wanted to sell for quite a long time up until recently but it's clear that has been the stance for a while.
  7. Would prefer Neco over Brandon of the Williams's. Don't think I've ever seen Brandon have a good game.
  8. Christ knows where Villa have got such a sense of delusion from. Smith-Rowe and JWP? 🤣
  9. That's a pretty horrendous start for a team that never starts well anyway. I can't see us winning until late October. 1) Ground we never win (last win in 90 mins back in 1997) at with new manager bounce and fans back in 2) Team we concede against for fun 3) Ground we never win at (won 1 of last SEVENTEEN trips) 4) West Ham before their EL campaign kick-offs 5) Man City away Don't really need to go on. Hey, I may be pleasantly surprised....:)
  10. Winners: France Runners Up: Portugal Scotland get knocked out at: Group Stage Wales get knocked out at: Last 16 England get knocked out at: Quarter Finals Dark Horse (Furthest a team gets excluding England, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, Portugal): Turkey Top Goalscorer: Griezmann UEFA Best Player: Kante UEFA Best Young Player: Ferran Torres
  11. We've got two hopes of signing Sabitzer and sadly Bob Hope is dead.
  12. Kieran Maguire. He's a big football finance guy so I guess not surprising that he has some knowledge of the situation. He's very much towing the line that the club were at the fans forum - something is going on but they don't want the bidders' name in the public domain. Hopefully that's a good sign that they're serious backers and not trying to negotiate via the media like DeGrosa was.
  13. Who exactly were you expecting?
  14. Well it's common knowledge that Howe went for the job when we sacked Pardew so there's clearly interest there but I'd like to think we'd be setting our sights higher than him should Ralph go early next season (whether it's realistic for us to or not is another matter).
  15. Another Southgate f*ck up. If he'd have just picked Tomori, who was exceptional for AC Milan towards the end of the season, rather than Mings who isn't even the best CB at Villa he wouldn't be in this situation. Hard to feel too much optimism about the Euros with a man who got relegated with Middlesbrough and failed with the Under 21s in charge.
  16. Surely even Southgate can't make the same mistake twice and leave out JWP again.
  17. Nearly a month since the fans forum where Semmens said news of a new 'investment structure' was to be announced "soon". Whilst that doesn't necessarily translate to a takeover, it was clear acknowledgement for the first time from those running the club day-to-day that we are actively seeking new investors. There haven't been any links/stories in the media for a while, but it's hard to know whether no news is good news as hopefully any serious investor would not be going to the press every 5 minutes like DaGrosa was.
  18. Scrap that. Ward-Prowse set to miss out, apparently. Victim of our second half of the season form... https://t.co/M4eIa78a9O?amp=1
  19. JWP might play in the third group game if we win the first two and are already through, but agree he's unlikely to feature much. Suspect it'll be Rice and Henderson (if he proves his fitness in the warm-up games). If we move to a 4-3-3 then those two alongside Mount or Foden.
  20. Cole-Johnson used to work for Sky, so he's used to ripping off football fans in fairness.
  21. Men's first team: Bunch of fannies
  22. Added JWP in, who's been named in the provisional England squad which will be reduced down to 26 men on 1st June. No place for Ings as expected.
  23. A quite pathetic and cowardly move from the club, something they conveniently neglected to mention at the fans forum a few weeks back. Do the people who come up with these ideas seriously think they'll go down well or do they give that little of a sh*t about the average fan that they'll just press ahead with it anyway?
  24. Best price 5/1 to go down next season. May as well profit from the misery and get the season ticket money back...
