  1. Mitch is managing one of the two afc totton under 16 sides made up through MLT natural coaching.
  2. Interesting view from a knumb poster, some of it may be true, some of it actually resembles them, Also, I can't stand them either ! thread Postby the pink palermo on Sat Aug 19, 2017 6:39 am For some strange reason Southampton are one of those sides I don't like watching , they're neither dull nor exciting , they're nothing much at all : the very definition of a club settling for PL mid table respectability .These days they're a club without a romantic bone in their body . However armed with a ticket , a flask of coffee and a couple of travel companions the pinkymobile will be departing in a couple of hours for the trip down to the industrial south coast , where it will of course be raining . As to how I expect us to line up , I've no idea beyond the certain starters of Hart , Reid, Noble, Arnautovic and Hernabdez ,I doubt he will start with Antonio, probably bringing him on after an hour to get a solid 30 minutes under his belt .Rice, too, I would expect to get another half an hour , probably for Obiang who surely cannot be as poor again .I'd start with Rice myself, but I'm not sure Slaven will . Economics might dictate that Zabaleta gets another start even though I'm not convinced of our 4 at the back set up . The fact I can't see an obvious starting line up is setting a few alarm bells ringing .A couple of injuries and the squad is extremely limited . One goal in this .Noble penalty to win it , but it's going to be a case of winning ugly .
  3. Would Saints go with 3 at the back, if VVD is staying plus the new polish lad, that's 5 CB's to keep happy ?
  4. Nice and positive, thanks for your input
  5. Surely we've moved on from loaning players !
  6. Interesting comments from Steve Parish in the De Boer press conference, he made it quite clear that there was another club who had made contact to De Boer but De Boer wanted to make it clear to Parish he was only interested in Palace and had not spoken to the other club. Also, De Boer was asked about the Everton job last season, he said he was in pole position for the job until Koeman changed his mind after saying no first time round. Backs up what a lot of people have been saying.
  7. Nice farewell from Claude https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017-06-15/claude-puel-statement Have to say, that's the most interesting thing he's said (written) since he's been here.
  8. Just seen on the website saints are looking for memorabilia for a museum piece in 2018, interested to know who's got what. I'll start the ball rolling, I've got the original plate from one of the turnstiles from the Milton rd end of the dell, it's labelled "turnstiles of Manchester" also got my seat and some turf from the last game.
  9. Puel has had a good set of tools in my opinion but unfortunately couldn't get them to work in the way the fans wanted them to. I also believe this is what the board think as well. In other words he has under achieved with the resources he has available, I.e potential and style of play. This will ultimately cost him his job
  10. I do believe we have two able replacements in Sam McQueen and Matty Targett. For me, there are more important areas to concentrate on.
  11. Oh, and did anyone else see the lady sat down all game reading her book, bit strange ! Didn't see the title of her novel tho
  12. Good day out, even better when we win, Forster was class today as well as the rest of the team really. Support second half was fantastic, redendition of owts went on for a good while, especially as we were under the cosh.
  13. Starts next week !! We've already been discounted for Chelsea so apart from that nothing in it for us. Never mind !!
  14. Well played saints, kept believing and got the result we desperately needed, felt the nerves going round the ground at 1 down but fair play they turned it round, i was actually quite impressed with palace. Had to laugh at Sakho's "50p head moment"
  15. Nice bit of advertising for us in the new Virgin advert, blink and your miss it tho !
  16. I think we'll sell out, we normally take a good following here. Easy one to get to as well
  17. Just read on Twitter he is injured and has been for a while, he will miss Saturday to give him 3 weeks rest til the next game, don't know how true this is though. Don't shoot the messenger.
  18. Wonder how much the saints fan paid for his ticket at fratton park last night !! Crazy Fool..
  19. Tempted to take my saints flag but doesn't seem to be many places to hang it. I'm on level 5 but will they be allowed to hang over the boxes ?
  20. Level 5 Block 537 been greyed out since the tickets started selling. Maybe for staff etc, don't know how many seats in a block but cant see that all being sold out so may go out to supporters.
  21. Same as 76 please, up the saints, just like the Liverpool away leg, sing your hearts out and smash the mancs. It's good to be the under dog.
  22. Just bought mine, got to be around 3k left after a quick add up.
  23. For some reason with only the hardcore there to support the lads i had a funny old feeling it was going to be one of those nights..Anfield is not an intimidating ground to play at anymore. When there fans sung we hit back, wave after wave of continuous blasting songs out, we were not going to be beat last night and the players fed off that attitude. That will live with me for a very long time, oh and Lovren your still a c***
  24. I was there that day. Chris was a very good centre half, we were blessed with defenders in those days. He didn't see eye to eye with Mark Dennis tho !!! Eastleigh snooker centre rings a bell if anyone remembers :
  25. In my opinion, Fonte decision totally correct, doesn't want to play for us so jog on, Yosihida very good tonight, now on to Burnley.
