  1. Heskey. Back up for Lambert. Green back up for Poke.
  2. Sory. Injury prone.
  3. Just heard from Donny friend that Stocks is very injury orine. Can anyone confirm how many games he has played this season?
  4. So it was Rupert and his mate(s) at the Mail. Calls for a boycott, I think.
  5. Wonder when we last had a manager with 92% support. Or any political leader or any businessman for that matter. Curious that noone seems to know Cortese. I rest my case m'lud.
  6. They were talking about the public address system and misspelt it.
  7. Six months ago Cameron was certain to win in a landslide. So, all bets were off. Look what happened there.
  8. Def one of them. Football wins either way!
  9. Hope you're right. Whole thing seems incredible to me but so did most of our history after FA cup final. I was the very old person you met today.
  10. Anyone know when next season starts?
  11. Just calculated we have played 7 games in 23 days, winning 5 and drawing 2. Great results by any standards. Pardew must be manager of the month.
  12. Very pleased to see how much the team wanted it. At the end they were as delighted as we were, Fonte especially looked as if he'd won the cup. Team spirit has improved totally since Pardew arrived.
  13. Also just back from the game. In with the Brizzle supporters who said Saints were 100% up for it tonight. They also applauded Lambert when he went off and said they hoped we got promoted so they wouldn't be battered twice by us next season. My view of the penalty was that the ball appeared to be going out of play and the ref was 40 yards away with players galore between him and the incident. The second half was probably the most one sided game I've seen in years. They had no idea what to do about Lambert or indeed most of the rest of the team. Best comment of the night when Connolly came on was "who's he. Must be another academy player". Yup. They know their football up Brizzle way!
  14. Seaborne missed header after header late in the game and was the reason why we came under such pressure. His clearance headers never go half as far as Jaidi's. I rate him as about the same as Davenport.
  15. Yes. I reckon he won 80% of headers. He was usually nudged in the back when not winning them. Oddly enough never spotted by the ref.
  16. So that fine organ "The Sun" and their esteemed reader Alpine got it wrong. Why am I not surprised?
  17. Shock! Horror! Alpine Saint in vaguely positive message.
  18. Even the invincible managers of the last 50 years Busby Shankley and Ferguson all lost and drew away from home on occasions. Whether Cortese has ever heard of them is the problem. He doesn't have enough football experience. Perhaps he should be replaced not Pardew.
  19. Somebody earlier mentioned Lord Ashdown as an expert on HMRC. Lord Ashcroft would be a better bet!
  20. After nearly 60 years of watching football I know a decent manager when I see one. Alan Pardew fits into that category. Let's celebrate the 5- 1 win over a team that recently beat Leeds. Incidentally, when did Saints last score 5 at home.
  21. Thank goodness we are starting to be realistic. One big addition in midfield in the summer and we'll be on track for a realistic crack at a top two place next season.
  22. Well said Eurosaint. From your neighbour on row w.
  23. Surely must be given 18 months. Apart from Leeds and Norwich Charlton could be promoted and the three relegated from Championship much weaker.
  24. Or BOGOF ( Players that is).
