Absolutely correct. Schneiderlin (and Hammond for that matter) are sideways players. Chaplow goes up and down so gets well beyond midfield at times. Such players are priceless.I knew something had been missing from the forum. Now I know it was Um!

We saw very little movement in the summer, modest loans in the loan period so we may see 1 or at most 2 in the Jan window, one of whom may be Chaplow. I don't think it is a money problem more an availability one. May be some cheap buys from Scunny to boost Adkins position in the dressing room.

I had a similar dilemna having to get to Corsham Wilts by 6.30pm. Arranged a parking place through club fo £10 in St Mary's school, left 5 or so minutes before end and made Corsham with 5 minutes to spare via A34 and M4. I'm sure you could easily make cotsolds in 2 and a half hours. Good luck.

Surprised nobody has mentioned that Lambert was always marked by two Brighton players when the ball came to him in the air. Good tactics by Poyet and very hard to counteract although in theory it should leave one of our other players without a marker. no world class saves required from their slow motion keeper - reckon that the ball was in his possession for 15% of the game without any response from the ref. When Kelvin took a couple of extra seconds to take a goal kick the ref was on him like a ton of bricks. Curious or what? Overall not a bad result against a pretty nasty side and a fabulous penalty save by Davis.

For those who didn't have their glasses on it was definitely Fonte who let their player through to score and not Jaidi. I agree with those who thought Jaidi is in a different class (from Seaborne) especially in the air and would love to see those who think he is slow have a race with him.They might be surprised. Just read Adkins comments after the game. His verbiage is so full of solecisms, repetitions, unattached participles, split infinitives and cliches that I find it hard to believe he has any real grasp of language. Chris Nicholl had the same problem but at least he had played the game at the highest level so could be forgiven. Think Adkins is probably out of his depth and should restrict his comments to a paragraph at the most.

Would love to know what Cortese thought. Anyone know if he was there? Adkins showing a touch of caution (fear) may be down to the pressure he is under. Probably never knew it at S****horpe so his cliche-ridden responses may be a defence mechanism. Suspect he spends the morning after games talking Cortese through his tactics. Rather him, than me.
