  1. SSN were saying yesterday that Liverpool were looking to sign him in the January 2021 transfer window when they had an injury crisis (I don't remember that). Also that several other 'big' EPL clubs had considered him but he was not the finished article and needed to prove himself at a club like Saints in the EPL before committing themselves. Seems a bit strange when he would be a fairly low cost risk at the 'big' clubs, probably SSN spin on the situation.
  2. They don't seem to like the draw!!!! 😂 SWFC are ball number 23 tonight - Page 4 - Sheffield Wednesday Matchday - Owlstalk | Sheffield Wednesday News for SWFC fans
  3. I didn't realise that there was voting functionality on this 'new' format, I'm surprised that we haven't had more on varying subjects.
  4. Typical Sky it's a League Cup night and they go on about last night Man U match even though they have talked about it for the last 21 hours.
  5. Adams only played for 35 mins on Saturday and he'll probably be subbed at around 60 mins tonight for Mara I would have thought to keep him fresh for the Man U and Chelsea games coming up in quick succession, depending upon how things are going tonight. Are 5 subs allowed tonight?
  6. 2 0 to Charlton. My son is at the match and said the same about the pitch condition.
  7. Concerning to hear Ralph putting in the long term injury category. Every word Ralph Hasenhuttl said on Leicester, injury news, Jamie Vardy, Theo Walcott and more - HampshireLive
  8. Glad that we got a least a point. Hopefully will improve team morale and Ralph has learnt our best formation and players in that last 30 mins.
  9. I'm irresponsibly optimistic about tomorrows match and maybe in the current climate of doom and gloom Saints can pull out of the bag a decent performance and win. Or maybe not !!
  10. I think that a key time to make a decision about Ralph will be after 8 matches when the International Break happens mid September. By then we will have played likely Top 4 or 6 teams, likely mid table and lower table sides. We also need to be competing more effectively in games and not shipping goals in the quantity that we have been (any hammerings before then and that decision point could be brought forward). If we are as abject by then that we have been at the back end of last season I think that SP will look to replace him.

    Walcott

In the press conference today Ralph said that Theo is still not back in training due to injury, have they ever said what the problem is? Seems to be a long time out for a non declared reason, unless I've missed some info.
  12. Did he have a buy back clause?
  13. On one of the Burnley forums they were speculating that Pope is valued by the club at £40m, Burnley will be trying to cash in on some of their player assets in the transfer window.
  14. I've just read a few pages of this thread to remind me of what we are capable of playing like. Same squad and manager, 1 loss in 11 at that point of the season ! Not the most convincing score against Norwich but a good performance and came soon after the Man U draw and spurs away win. Things soon turned sour away at Villa and we have never recovered the winter form. We should have played Newcastle and Burnley during our purple patch as well when they were at rock bottom form wise (covidgate) which could have made the end of the season more comfortable but lost to both later during our bad run.
  15. We haven't strung more than 3 passes together for the last 15 minutes.
  16. I really hope that we put in a Man City type performance rather than the recent Chelsea one!
  17. Saints Legends won tonight 7 - 5 against Cockney Rebels Vets at Chris Nicholl Charity match at AFC Totton.
  18. I know that the crowd is loud in the Spurs , Arsenal game but the commentators do sound quieter than normal. Edit. I often think that Martin Tyler is less easy to hear. He probably knackers the sound level when he shouts ' and it's live' at the start of the match!!

    Relegation

It was 500-1 a week ago!
  20. Alex McCarthy in goal for B team today. 0 0 at half time.
  21. Looking back at our time in the 2nd division in the 70s it's amazing that we played Chelsea, Man Utd and Tottenham in that league as well for a season or 2 each.
  22. For all of the players to go off the boil and players starting who weren't coming off the bench a month ago is down to the manager and trainers. If we don't replace this summer with a pre selected manager/coach then it has to be next year because if Ralph is planning to retire in 2024 we can't go into the last season with a leader that the players know won't be there much longer or for player recruitment even if the club playing strategy is similar. I think that Ralph falls out with players and drops them from the starting eleven for personal reasons rather than footballing reasons, no evidence but a feeling that I have. I don't think that he should personally critise individual players in public like Broja yesterday or question the quality of HIS squad, it's hardly motivational or professional.
  23. It will be interesting to see what points total the 3rd from bottom club gets with Burnley on a good run and Everton will be up for the relegation fight. I reckon that 3rd bottom club could end up with 37 or 38 points.
  24. In the heady days in February when we did so well we had a settled team in 442 formation. Forster Walker Peters / Tino, Benarek, Salisu, Perraud/Walker Peters S Armstrong, Ward Prowse Romeu Mo Adams, Broja Trouble is some (all?) of the players have collectively gone off the boil starting with the Aston Villa match. It was obviously a successful and preferred set up just need to get the players firing again, some how.
  25. I'm glad that we got the extra 3 points from the Arsenal game, can see both Everton and Burnley getting another 9 points each before the end of the season.
