I’m watching Crewe (now local team) v Liverpool u21 in the EFL Trophy on Sky Sports + and even that has commentary good quality picture. I’ve watched a few sports+ broadcasts now and they have been good and so much choice of EFL matches and this is being broadcast with every match being played in the US Open Tennis as well.

I like Archer, but feel like he's going to be one of those Dwight Gayle types that has excellent seasons in the Championship and then can't quite make it translate to the Premier League. He has some great natural instincts but he doesn't really have the size, pace or strength at this level which you're never really going to get away with when the standard is so high. He wouldn't be a bad squad option by any means but it's just a move that makes sense given the circumstances.

I always remember (just) Asa Hartford failing a medical to transfer to Leeds in the early seventies but carried on playing for West Brom then moved Man City a few years later and had playing career with other clubs for many years after. Obviously it depends what sort of heart condition with ABK they have 'apparently' found.

I've watched the Montpellier game and the second half of the Oxford match (I couldn't get it to work from the start of the match) on Fawanews (Sports News) so hopefully may also have the Millwall game as well? I hadn't heard of them before someone posted a link on here before the Montpellier game, the coverage was good quality and stable although no commentary for the Montpellier game but that meant we could clearly hear RM barking out instructions.

The trouble is if you put a whole team of second string together they struggle to impress individually or as a unit, like in early league cup teams where promising youngsters are put in and struggle. P.S. My son is stuck on the A34 trying to get to Oxford for kick off, he's not even at Newbury yet!!

I was wondering if he was not on particularly good terms with the club during his last season with us after not signing a contract extension and preferring to move elsewhere rather than stay with us even after being promoted. I presume that an offer continued to be offered until the end? To my knowledge he has not had a club thank you post but I think I remember that Stuart Armstrong did? Please correct me if I’ve missed something.

I noticed during the Stomping Ground interview a few times when being asked about who was the changing room music DJ, RM answered it WAS Che but he’s gone !! I know he is out of contract and not the club employee anymore but sounded like he has gone gone.

People complain when it’s not traditional stripes and now when there is such a kit they complain it looks a poor version of Sunderland, Exeter or Brackley. I must be missing something but apart from details like width of stripes, collar or sleeves what are they supposed to do with traditional stripes? The sponsor is the sponsor and that’s their logo, what do you expect put Draper on the front even though they are not our front of shirt sponsor and probably don’t have the marketing budget to be? Overall I personally like the home and away kits being traditional colours and design, although I dislike plain shirt backs when there is no regulatory need but the pattern on the back of the home shirt does at least soften the look, I don’t know why the away shirt couldn’t have the same patterned back as the front. As for the sponsor whoever we have their logo will be on the front of shirts whether we agree with their selection or not. I would have preferred (if we could have attracted them) a worldwide non betting company such as MSC Cruises ( who do other sporting sponsorship and have local connections ) or some other travel, leisure, electronics or financial company. The EPL has a worldwide audience so it will attract sponsoring companies that operate in many parts of the world. Anyway like it or not these are our shirts for this season, now complete the assembly of our squad and get the best out of the players that we have to compete not just survive in the EPL.
