    Closure ?

As far as I'm concerned, that's already ancient history. I can't say that I've really thought about it in those terms, but since you ask the question then I'd say last season did it for me. We got back on the up, built the foundations of a really good squad, and had a great season ending in success. Promotion to the Premiership isn't the sole mark of success (given that if/when we get there, the best we can hope for is comfortable mid-table mediocrity) - what better example of the club being on a sustainable track do you want than the new academy/training facilities in Marchwood?
  2. Saints to win the league. West Ham have a fair number of tough fixtures coming up, and I fancy them to drop at least four points on us. It will be close (not least because there are so many other teams that can't be discounted), so I think we might wrap it up on the penultimate day of the season - we're away to Boro, but West Ham are away to Leicester. West Ham will go into the match needing to win, but will fall short, handing the title to us (though I can see us actually losing the game). I am, of course, utterly hopeless at this kind of thing, so my final prediction is that none of the above will be even close to what actually happens.
  3. I did once dream about playing for Saints - I was getting ready for the match in the changing room, and got as far the tunnel to go out onto the pitch... and then woke up. Never got to kick a ball in anger for Saints, even in my dream
  4. I heard that, too - staggering, isn't it? His first priority is to decide whether PFC is actually worth saving and then, if it is, to apply the necessary cuts to making it a going concern financially. If that means cutting them back so much that they get relegated - but can survive running as an average League 1 side, then so be it. And as for the skates texting Solent, yet again bleating on about how hard done by they've been, and that they should be able to sign some loan players... well, words fail me.
  5. Not racist at all. He was a great ref at first - I really rated him - but wasn't he dropped from the top flight (or am I imagining that?) for being actually quite good? He then got with the programme and became awful. Still, he's nowhere near as bad as my pet-hate in referee's kit: Mike Riley. Utterly useless. Guaranteed to have at least one highly contraversial decision each and every game. Guaranteed to give Man U at least one penalty every time he was in charge of them.
  6. No waistcoat or pocket watch, I'm afraid...
  7. Our home match is far too far from the end of the season for us to relegate them that day (assuming they get just the -10). However, it's conceivable that they might still be needing points on the last day of the season. If our league position was secure going into that game, and if Coventry could still overtake the skates... what price a Saints home loss on the final day of the league season? Lots of "ifs" in all that - but non implausible.
  8. Apparently 5Live are talking about the skates, including an interview with Lumpitt, after 9pm tonight.
  9. Any chance you and your mate can petition the company to be the ones who pull the plug?
  10. You forgot: Harry's dog was found "innocent" and, in completely unrelated news, England are looking for a new manager (and the tabloid press a new scapegoat).
  11. Ok, I'll admit to being a bit fixated on trophies - but I'm after the ones on FIFA 12 that need two players. I'm perfectly happy to do the absolute bare minimum to get the trophies and, as a special incentive, if you're after the Ultimate Team trophies then I can give you a massive helping hand with that. PM me or add me on the PS3: sotonric
  12. I've not got to that bit of the game yet - happy to play a bit (well, to get trophies, at least! ).

Oh, I should add my PSN ID: sotonric Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk

Any fellow PS3 owners want to earn a few trophies? I'm well on the way to getting the Ultimate Team trophy for total club value, and I'm happy to help out anyone with this (and all the other UT trophies) if you can help me out with the two-player trophies in this and the rest of the game
  15. I guess it's all a matter of opinion, and coloured a lot by when people start watching F1. I started watching in the mid-80s, and think those were some of the finest looking cars. The JPS/Camel Lotus, Williams, McLarens and Ferraris in the period 84 to 89 we beautiful. The Ferrari was actually scarlet - unlike the hideous orangey-Marlboro-red of Ferrari's cheating German git years.
  16. The official line is that it's an "aid for driver cooling". Which, of course, is utter ********. I bet Newey has come up with another barnstormer of an innovation.
  17. Same here. Though I think they should have published a publicity photo of it

    Saggy face

Just when I thought that I'd reached the nadir of my interest in the England team, today happens. You just know that the FA have been waiting for the Harry verdict, and now he's apparently not a tax-dodging criminal, they're paving the way for him to become manager of the national team. They all deserve each other.
  19. Going for the short option, I'll pick just a line from a song - how about a little bit of Madness: "I'm as honest as the day is long... the longer the daylight, the less I do wrong"

    Mods or Rockers?

Rocker without a question. I wouldn't be seen dead on a scooter - horrible little sewing machines on wheels, driven either by grannies going to the local shops, or idiotic 17-years olds with all the road-sense of a startled rabbit. Give me a proper motorbike any day
  21. Jeez... Cala was sounding sensible for the first two points. Then it takes a First Class seat on the train to La-La Land!
  22. Disappointed not to get all three points. Cardiff were timewasting from the off, and the ref was bloody useless. It was a nailed on penalty for Rickie in the first half, and they were all over Kelvin for their goal. Puncheon was our man of the first half - I'm guessing he came off because he's not match fit for the full 90 at the moment. Lee came on and looked energetic and dangerous - very promising! Overall: frustrating first half, good second half - any other ref and we'd have won tonight.
  23. We've got a big run of very important matches coming up - but the end of the transfer window adds to the importance of this week overall. I think we've already done some really good business - but everyone always wants "one more signing". It's clear that we've not been afraid to go for big players - though there's no guarantee that a deal will come off. If it doesn't, then I'll be mildly disappointed - but still happy that we've managed to sign a Japanese international striker and a new CB (albeit on loan). As for the matches - six points from the next two games and we can forget about December January's poor run of form (don't forget how many key players we've been missing - not least Chappers, who was a massive loss in the midfield). Get nothing - and I'll remind myself that six months ago I'd have been very happy with a 10th place finish. Yes, it would be disappointing - but we've come a long way in a short space of time and things could have been so much worse!
  24. I'll donate my mouse - the furry kind that runs around and squeaks. Well, it would run around and squeak if it was still alive. But I'm sure it would clean up nicely if I dig it up and run it under the tap for a minute or so. Actually, I say "my mouse" - it belonged to my other half's sister. We were looking after it while she was on holiday in the States. But I'm sure she wouldn't mind donating it to the cause to save Portsmuff from financial oblivion.
  25. Given the list of people have passed the FAPPT, it says everything that Cala clearly doesn't think he'll pass it. And this is the only guy interested in buying them!
