  2. Televised game, I'll go for a hard fought 2-2 draw as I can't see either side keeping a clean sheet, but they are shaky and we may be getting into a bit of form....
  3. I wonder if Callum Slattery was involved - he made a comment about Oxford being pretty good this afternoon on twitter (I accept he could have just been watching...)
  4. You asked how they should be welcomed to the pitch. What's the point in booing? It's gone, it wasn't good enough, tomorrow is another day. We can talk all night on the why's and wherefores, it isn't going to change tonights result. I'll be there on Sunday, with one of my kids in the family stand. When they come out, I'll stand up and cheer and clap so that my kid does as well - they are too young to know what tonight means. Hopefully, I'll be doing the same at the end. My son is 9, when he was 3 I took him to see us play Charlton at home, around March 2009 because I thought I'd not have the chance to take him to a Saints game again as it looked like we were going out of business. We've gone to league one and back since then, lets not forget that.
  5. It's got to be done a lot on networking, surely. Clearly, Monk speaks to people in the club (and others in similar positions elsewhere, I'd imagine) and picks up info on character as he's just mentioned, and that's got to be fed up the chain at some point.
  6. That bet was just too tempting for me - if you do it £10 e/w with Paddy Power, you currently get a free £2 bet each time he scores as well.
  7. Just had an email from Virgin telling me my subscription is going up £3 a month to continue to get BT Sport and the new Europe channel.

    Question.

Wasn't it Alan McLoughlin from Swindon? Never lived up to it though.
  9. Not long back, but a great result. Thought Targett was good with some intelligent play. Clasie a little wayward with passing at times and Mane excellent. A couple of time they nearly got an away goal (2 minutes in, and then at 2-0) that would have made a massive difference to the tie, but 3-0 should be more than enough. Big Vic cleaned up nicely and the away support deserve a mention - brilliant stuff and lets hope they got a good journey home. Not quite PL standard tonight though, but good enough.....
  10. Right, 15 minutes until I leave work for the game. I just hope the M25 and the M3 are kind to me on the way down from Reigate. A solid 2-0 win please, Saints.
  11. Red Bull Salzburg 2 - 0 Malmö FF FT (good..) Steaua Bucharest 1 - 1 Partizan Belgrade FT (away goal, not good..) Celtic 1 - 0FK Qarabag (good for coefficients, maybe not good for transfers..) Lech Poznan 1 - 3 FC Basel (don't care..) SK Rapid Vienna 2 - 2 Ajax (away goals, good..)
  12. Book - The Collector, John Fowles Film - too many to decide from, but Shawshank is right up there alongside "MLT and how I saved the Saints", although that was a relatively local weekly documentary in the late 80's/early 90's that not too many people outside of SO postcodes would be aware of.......
  13. I don't think they'll have nouvelle cuisine, much more likely to have plenty of carbs :^)
  14. Thanks for posting that, always interesting to get a few bits of info on the nippers progress.
  15. He'll need to be playing to get into the squad for the Euros next summer, so sitting it out wouldn't be in his interests in that respect.
  16. Blondie, one way, or another...... Juanmi, or another, he's gonna getcha, he's gonna getcha, getcha, getcha, getcha Juanmi, or another, he's gonna getcha, gonna getcha, getcha, getcha, getcha Juanmi, or another, we're win yeah, he's gonna getcha, getcha, getcha, getcha One day, maybe next week, he's gonna getcha, getcha, getcha, getcha He will drive through your team, And if Pelle has gone down, Shane long'll be around... Juanmi, or another, he's gonna getcha.... It's ok, I've got my coat..............
  17. This. RIP Ken.
  18. How funny would it be if they went after Lloris as well if De Gea goes....
  19. Tips from the last time I went when Saints played there.....locals seemed (mostly) friendly, we swapped shirts with a couple. If you wander into a pub at 2am on your way back to the hotel, whilst still wearing the Feyenoord shirt you obtained earlier in the evening, and it happens to be right next the the Sparta Rotterdam stadium with a few Sparta fans still in it, you will survive, so long as they recognise you as English straight away although for a few seconds, there will be silence and tumbleweed......Don't wear the Feyenoord shirt in Amsterdam. I must say, the shirt then was made by Kappa and is the most comfortable replica shirt I own and I wear it a lot (and have done to St Marys in the past)
  20. But a short fuse...
  21. Isn't that from when they are in a position to release it, which is why so many of them easily take a catch and then collapse down onto the ground and lie there on top of the ball for ages at the end of a game they are winning?
  22. I'll add my thanks for your efforts on these, very much a highlight of the week.
  23. This was written in October..... http://whitehouseaddress.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/the-regression-to-mean-at-anfield.html I quite like all his blogs, tbh, all worth a read.
  24. That lad was sat a couple of rows behind me that game - he was the fastest bloke in the ground that day, covering those 20 yards between their seats at half time like a gazelle!! :^)
  25. Or Swansea lose to Man City, Man U beat Arsenal, City are therefore almost definately second when they play us and we defy the odds and actually win at home to Villa, job done......glass being half full, obviously.
