Norwich v Watford tonight means we'll drop a place this evening regardless of the result.

Do you mean this one (from the VAR thread, posted the other day) - https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?61155-VAR&p=2761345#post2761345

I attended a Surrey FA CPD session with Ian Dyer, Wokings assistant manager, at the end of last season and he talked about loan signings. Woking train twice a week and loan players come to those but train with their parent club at other times. He’s done a few sessions via Surrey FA so if I can get to his next one, I’ll try to chat to him about it.

Some leagues trailled it last season, I saw 2 players from the same team sin binned in one incident at my local club last year - they lost a Cup Semi Final 1-0 with the goal coming while they were off the pitch because of their dissent. It does apply to Youth games, but it is 8 minutes in the sin bin for games that are not 90 minutes long (10 minutes for the 90 minute games) - I had one of my U13s sin binned last season (I told him he wasn't coming on again even after the time expired as I wasn't having dissent).

There's a few some may have heard of here - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46800068 :^) I know Marc Guehi and his family (look up his "no step" penalty on social media in a Chelsea Youth european game recently!) so I watch out for his progress. He's a very humble, grounded bloke and I hope he makes it in the game, but it'll be tough breaking through at Chelsea at CB.

Any London Saints watching in a central London pub on Saturday at all, or any recommendations to do so? I've going to a gig at the Borderline later in the evening, so looking to find a pub to watch the game first. Cheers.

Not sure how accurate this is, but there is a list of staff profiles here: http://trainingground.guru/staff-profiles/southampton-staff-profiles

Something to while away the time - http://trainingground.guru/articles/academy-productivity-rankings-2017/18 It has Saints in 7th place. The research does have it's flaws - I'm just posting it for some light Friday afternoon reading, so make of it what you will!

Voskins has been named in the latest England U19 squad (Gunn is in the U21s).

Looks like our game is on at exactly the same time as the ManU/Armagh game, both 7pm KO - had a look at their website and twitter feed for an update, found loads on ManU, nothing at all on ours. No surprise there then!

I believe that if you use the red button on BBC, you can have Radio 5 Live commentary with the game instead.

In my 6th Form years, I worked in the bar at the Montagu Arms, Beaulieu part time. One afternoon, a rather attractive lady comes in and she asks me what's it like in the area as they are looking to buy a house, turns out she was Russell Osmans wife and in he walks! They bought a house at the end of the village in the end and he used to come in for a drink reasonably regularly (only half pints though, if I remember correctly!). That must have been during a summer holiday and I left for Uni in London the following Autumn so didn't get to know him that well in that short period, but he was a nice enough bloke.

No hunger in paradise.

Another quality season done - just by you, not the 11 on the pitch! Many thanks for your efforts, Glen, I've really enjoyed your blogs again this season.

Can't believe we've got to Tuesday morning without a build up thread for the next league game, so I'll see if I can change our luck by starting one! Chelsea are beatable if we are up for it and have a bit of luck. I think OR not picking up a booking in the last game and now being free of a 2 game ban for 10 bookings may allow him to be a bit more agressive in midfield and I'd like to see Sims start. 2-1 the Saints (ever the optimist, me).

All may not be lost on your Chelsea home ticket if we beat them in the Semi, it'll probably count towards a Final ticket (although I appreciate there will be less for that than the Semi).

West Ham are playing Dagenham & Redbridge in a fund raising friendly tonight, with a strong team : Adrian, Cresswell, Zabaleta, Hugill, Noble, Collins, Masuaku, Evra, Antonio, Holland, Lewis. Collins has just gone off injured - "James Collins limps off holding his hamstring. That is not good news. Straight down the tunnel. Sunday Supplement on Sky are about to talk about us and Sparky if anyone is interested.

This site has them on 4 each, but it has OR on 8, but I thought he was on 9 (perhaps Cup games count, but aren't shown in this tally?) https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/yellow_card

Yes he is. They count up to and including match 32, so that includes tomorrow, then the league games against Burnley, Stoke, Newcastle, Swansea and West Ham. The three games after that are Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester if he manages to get to the West Ham game and then get himself booked! I've included Leicester as the rules seem to suggest it is the 32nd league match rather than a specific date, so if we (or Swansea) win tomorrow, then I think the Swansea match will get rearranged. I'm sure MLG will correct me if I've not quite got that right, but personally I'd rest Romeu tomorrow for that reason.

I think Solent are doing us a slight injustice in that case. What I think we're doing well is moving it from left fullback to right full back across the back well, that makes their entire team continiously move across the field and back and after 3 games in 5 days, it'll tire them out on a heavy pitch. It is the sort of play that doesn't please some fans though, but important I think.
-
I've not done a pre match build up thread this season, so you never know, maybe my luck is better than others!!! Can't see us getting much out of it, but a reasonable display would be a start....

My immediate thought was that there were a couple of our players that should have got closer to Sterling, and be breaking their necks to do so. Maybe that is the disappointment of getting so close to a point. Gutted.
