I'm not sure if the 5% thing exists, but I'm pretty sure someone on here (can't remember who, but it was someone with known contacts) said Adam wouldn't get a cut either way.

JWP is captain again this evening, 18:30KO, game live on BT Sport.

Quality as ever, many thanks for doing it. That is the most appropriate image to go with the blog ever.

I admire your optimism, but European sides don't win World Cups in South America. Given that, we really should be taking a side designed to be prepared for future tournaments. Does anyone else think Lampard and Cole will get another cap after Brazil? Baines is playing left back until we get knocked out, or until he gets injured - why not take Luke to gain "tournament experience". I think the majority of opinion would be behind a youthful selection for this one, tbh.

Don't Italy play all their group games in the amazon? That has to be a big factor. That makes the first game key for me. Having said that, we are not going to progress too far. Much as i'd like to see a younger squad, i don't think we will lose the dead wood until after the WC.

I've seen that - Fat Sams rules are one touch in our penalty area, the second one in theirs.

FT stats: 37 shots at goal to 1, 8 on target to 1 on target. Chelsea had 72% of the possession according to the BBC. Amazing.

CORTESE - a personal and factual view of why Ms Liebherr was right.
vince replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
The implication was that he would have sold for much less than we paid - what he is worth now is immaterial to that. It was just a different slant to the "drives a hard bargain" viewpoint, that's all. -

Sky Sports just had Simon Jordon on in their transfer window bit. He said he'd dealt with NC and he was delighted with the business - sold us a player for £1.2m that he would have sold to others for 200K!!! Must have been referring to Jose Fonte. Whether you choose to believe Jordon or not is another matter, I guess. -
I took my nipper (8YO now, about 6 then) to a pre-season friendly a couple of seasons ago - he'd played a game in the morning and had half an hour on a trampoline beforehand. Twenty minutes into the first half, he fell asleep on my lap. He woke up 5 minutes into the second half, looked at me and said "Can we just watch the first half and go, Dad?". "Ok, son, no problem...." :^) The only advice I'd offer it prepare him for the noise, take plenty of toys to keep him sat still (chips works as a bribe for my nipper) and don't let him drink all his drink in the first 10 minutes, or you will need those aisle seats.

This will shown you who touched what when (oooh errr...) http://www.fourfourtwo.com/statszone/8-2013/matches/695108/player-stats#tabs-wrapper-anchor

At least one of those games is the FA Cup in which he probably wouldn't play anyway.

At grassroots level, keepers get much less coaching that outfield players, if they get any specialist coaching at all. Shooting practice for outfield players isn't really 'keeping practice for goalies - at mini soccer level they aren't going to stop many.
-
Blimey, I'd not looked at that - no defense for his distribution there!

This is quite good from 442, which allows you to pick a player and see how they did: http://www.fourfourtwo.com/statszone/8-2013/matches/695072/player-stats#tabs-wrapper-anchor

Duncan - I've enjoyed all the work from the Hagiologists over the years and would like to spread the word over social media further, but when I link in the Hagiology Publishing site to facebook, it doesn't bring up All The Saints. What's the best link to publish - there must be a big audience out there of fb friends from here to captivate.

Slightly off topic, but this is of interest: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1855457-top-5-teenagers-in-the-premier-league-based-on-performance-data Apologies if it has been posted elsewhere.

The new reality game popular with the players, "Operation", had thrown up an "amputate left leg below the knee" card and had been superbly executed by Rickies team....

I quite like the 10/1 on Lovren to score anytime tomorrow with bet365. I think we'll get a fair few corners and I think those are reasonable odds.

Level 1 - £150 (usually £20 discount for Charter Standard clubs), 32 hours duration After the L1, you can do the FA Youth Modules (specifically aimed at 5-11YO). There are 3 of them, £150 (£130 CS discount) each, all 32 hours duration. Or take the Level 2 - I think that is £500. Prices go up quite a bit after that, I believe. My youth football club (U6-U16) will pay for the coaches to do the L1/Youth mods out of the club funds, but not all will do that. I thought there was a youth discount for U18s, but apparently not (at least not with Surrey FA where I am). Having done the Youth Mod 1, I would say that if this is how the FA are trying to teach youth coaches to coach, then they are definitely going in the right direction, as it really made me think about how I coach the kids (my lot are currently U 8 ). The main difficulty is the time commitment - they are (usually) 8 evening sessions of 4 hours midweek, or 4 whole days at a weekend. With peoples usual jobs and other family commitments, you need some degree of dedication. What I don't currently like for grass roots coaches is that you have to do the Level 1 first, before being able to take the first Youth Mod, yet that one is far more relevant to coaches entering the game with their young sons. I was told the L1 is designed to teach parents how to coach, the Youth Mod is to show them what to coach, but I still think this is a barrier to getting trained and qualified "beginner" coaches into the game at that level, where it needs to be to begin to make a difference (or reprogram parents to not prioritise winning above learning, but that's a different debate)
