If we continue our league run of winning games then I can't see Pardew bringing Davis in until Bart has a shocker. Like you said, it's great to have the problem of two good keepers!
-
Yea, I read that too. Some reporters just haven't read up about us since last season!

It's understandable yet frustrating that people believe that our best players are going to move on in January or next Summer. People need to realise that we no longer need to sell players. They will only go if the manager feels they don't want to play for the club anymore, therefore need to move on as their head isn't focused on us. I understand that people will worry about Lambert moving on based on the past, i.e Bale, Walcott etc but we no longer need to worry. Other clubs should be worried about us taking their best players.

Online says Sold Out????

He has done fantastically well along with his coaching staff. Long may it continue!

That's what I thought.

Simeon Jackson would be just the other striker we need as Connolly can't play constantly, and it would mean we have three quality strikers. A pacey Centre Back is required to help out Jaidi and I'm sure this will be our first signing. Perhaps another CB as cover but then again we do have young Aaron Martin although we haven't seen him at L1 level. Very excited about this window. Can't wait.

In Dec/Jan the fixtures come thick and fast, so I was very happy with a very winnable game in the third round. It's all about confidence when fixtures come quickly and I think league results would be better in Jan having won the 3rd round match rather than gettin tonked by a top 6 prem team. A winnable Champ team in the 4th round is ideal, e.g Plymouth, and then a big team in the 5th as we aren't going to win it.
-
How? We had 6 or 7 clear chances which somehow we missed. Shooting wise we had an off day, but we completely battered them in the second half. We just started off the match slowly.
-
May not have been our best performance today, but we got the job done. Lallana was class again, but thought Perry looked shaky at the back. Hammond had an average game along wit pretty much everyone else. Rickie looks a bit more like his normal self which is good. Also good to see Murty get 90minutes! Thought the movement and free-flowing passing wasn't there today but to be fair to Northampton they made it tough for us. Onto Tuesday now and hopefully 3 points!

He may not have had the greatest game today but for gods sake he's been one of our best players so far this season. One not amazing games makes a player ****? Get a grip.

As discussed on other threads, just because Strachan was there does not mean he's going to Middlesbrough at all. Goodness me.

Guessing we are in the blue/yellow kit?

Excellent result. Nearly 700 fans going up there is outstanding. Hopefully carry that momentum into Saturday's game!

Not happening.

Agree When we were in the Prem and at home, I thought the atmosphere was very good and very loud. Obviously it isn't the same now but to an extent the amount of singing is led by the team. If the team is playing pulsating stuff then there will be much more of an atmosphere. But against Brighton there was nothing for us to get up for in the Northam, so the amount of singing wasn't great. However, for example, this season against Bristol Rovers at home I think the singing was fantastic. If we continue to play well, and move up the leagues, then the singing will keep on improving.

Disagree, we want to get on a winning run and get a bit more confidence in the team again and this is a great chance to do so. Perhaps rest Lambert, but other than that play pretty much the same team as normal. Younger players such as Lallana should be able to cope with it easily. Playoffs do look just out of reach now, and we certainly aren't going down. However on our day I think we could beat any team in the Championship at home, so why not have a nice cup run. Potentially getting our friends down the road in the third round!

To be fair it was incredibly wet, but yes he should have tried to parry it away to the side
-
He's just signed for us for goodness sake. He's been ill as others have mentioned and probably didn't train as effectively this week. Obviously hasn't quite recovered totally.
-
Firstly Lloyd James is not a Right Back and there was nobody else to play there whilst Murty was injured. No I would not rather have Thomas there because he is far too slow. Secondly, any keeper would struggle to hold that shot especially seeing as it was incredibly wet. I blame the defence for not following up quick enough.

Really?? I thought he looked shakey!
-
I have no idea what has happened to Trotters in the last couple of games. He's looked so solid all season until the past two games. Very strange. Pardew will already be looking for another CB I would expect, ideally someone with a bit of pace because Jaidi is slow!
-
Exactly. Unfortunately the -10 along with a poor first 6 games seriously dented our chances. We are too good to be relegated, we just competed with, in my opinion, the best team in League 1 today. We lost to Brighton, fair enough it wasn't a great result but I can't believe some people think avoiding relegation should be our main target this season. On the other hand we are not the best team in the league, however we are without doubt a top 6 team. The next 4-5 games are crucial, if we can win the majority then I do not see why we can't be looking for the playoffs. We will have a clearer picture by Christmas I think. Pardew will strengthen the team further in January, but it worries me too that Lallana might not hang around. He looks far too good for this league.
