  1. I think he is good playing wide left. He isn't an out and out wide man but does wel drifiting in and can cross a ball fairly well. He needs to stay in team as he is the one who creates chances with his movement.
  2. Watching the goal in slow motion, you would expect KD to come for that ball. Fonte got caught and Mills on the line didn't exactly do much. Looked like another case of Rudi hanging onto the post at Derby in the playoffs.
  3. No. They may have shown KD tipping the shot onto the bar but they failed to show Lallana's easier chance in the second half when he hit it straight at the keeper from 6 yards out...somehow. Draw was fair seeing as they had nothing in the first half. Tale of two halves you could say.
  4. I agree. If we aren't say top 4, close to automatic then I can see AP gone.
  5. I don't think that the 'half the squad don't get a game very often' argument can be used. We have say 20 players who are consistently in the squad but the rest aren't being used because AP doesn't rate them and unfortunately nobody else wants them! We do have a lot of players but you need a good squad in this league which we are heading towards achieving, making selection very hard, and when results go against us, we can certainly question the players chosen in hinde sight. I agree about the midfield in terms of the centre. Surprised someone didn't come in but maybe he's waiting till the Summer to get his man. Puncheon has however been brought in which will strengthen parts of the midfield
  6. Thought it was just Mills today for the Corners and FreeKicks except AL had one corner in the second half. Surprised James isn't taking them, Mills' quality isn't great.
  7. Not sure about Thomas at RB. For me you have to weigh up: Do you want Thomas for the defensive side of the game or play James there for going forward with his good passing. It's a tough one but I would have one of these two ahead of Otsemebor based on the games I have seen him in. Pardew's team today will have been based upon thinking ahead to Tuesday and then Saturday because of cup tied players etc, so he is trying to utilize his squad.
  8. Exactly
  9. Haven't gone through the 5 pages of reaction yet but here is my opinion. Thought we looked quite good first half and settled. However we didn't turn up in the second half and a draw was probably a fair result in the end. They looked dangerous in the second half but had nothing in the first half. Weak links in our team today: Otsemebor, I really don't rate him. Poor touch, his passing isn't great and neither is his movement. I said it after Stockport and I will say it again...I would rather have Lloyd James at RB and I honestly would feel much more comfortable and I believe we would create more going forward. Mills didn't have a great game today either. Fair play he did well defensively but going forward there was nothing. His set pieces are dire and doesn't really offer much. I am expecting to see Harding back in for the next games. Positives: Puncheon, thought he was our best player today. Looked dangerous going forward and linked well with others. Certainly looks like he will be a good signing for us. CB's, solid as ever in my opinion. Would still rather see Jaidi play instead of Seaborne at the moment. Was he injured today or being saved for next week? Morgan and James didn't really offer much attacking wise. How long is Hammond out for?? Hopefully he's back for Pompey. Overall, went there expecting three points, but they aren't a bad side in all honesty. However our quality should have come through but not for the first time, it didn't
  10. I can see why some of you (Glasgow Saint etc) are frustrated due to us spending the money and not producing results. Teams need time to build, especially with these new signings coming in, they need to blend with the rest of the team, learning how each other play. This will improve gradually and doesn't happen quickly. I am confident over the remainder of the season, our performances will return to how they were when we went on that run. The answer is not to get rid of Pardew, he may go 'defensive' at time but he is a bloody good football manager. We all go to the games now expecting to win the game which shows how we have come on since we played Swindon away when we were nothing short of shocking. Things are gradually getting better with a squad being built here. The reason we aren't getting the results? For me it's down to one key thing. We have stopped playing our football! When we went on the run Oct/Nov time, we were passing it around looking fantastic but suddenly everything has changed to 'lump' it to Rickie. I have no idea why. Team's catched onto it and simply put a couple of defenders on him. Play it to his feet and we will create much more. Who know's what happened to our passing game??
  11. Would love the shirt to have a collar
  12. Honestly can't see Danns coming down to League 1. I think we are done for the time being, however it would be a nice surprise if it came off.
  13. Fonte is a class CB. Know's the game inside out and you feel very comfortable with him there. Seabourne does a job. Quite impressed with his passing and distribution. Would prefer Jaidi to partner Fonte at the moment though. Barnard hasn't settled yet. Ineffective today but I am looking forward to seeing more from him when we get the ball on the deck and play instead of hoofball. Finally Otsemebor. Not a fan of him myself. I honestly feel more comfortable with Lloyd James there. However many will disagree, but that's just how I see it.
  14. Fair enough people get frustrated when the team isn't playing great but there is no need to constantly shout abuse is there. I also laugh when people start questioning Pardew's tactics at games, as if they know more about the game than him. There's a reason why he's a successful manager.
  15. Puncheon it is
  16. Scary isn't it?!
  17. Look at Charlie Austin at Swindon. Signed from Poole Town and scored something like 9 goals in 13 games. Worth a punt, wouldn't be on alot of money if he signed.
  18. I'm sure there will be a tweet at 10.45am tomorrow from OfficialSaints saying 'Who fancies another signing then' !
  19. Excellent winger. We need this CM though
  20. Seeing as the Lambert one took off so well off here, we need one for our new striker who will be knocking in the goals starting tomorrow. My suggestion is to the way Arsenal fans sang about vieira. Lee Barnard ooooooooah Lee Barnard ooooooooah .............................. ............................. Finish it off or suggest another
  21. Why did the club scrap the membership scheme??
  22. You believe he will get poached by another club or simply be sacked due to results? Personally I can only see him being poached by a higher club as I believe the team is coming right into place now and results will follow. However, Cortese will want stability and will not let him go unless he wants to. I think Pardew is going to take us up to the Championship, perhaps further.
  23. Once again James is a good player to have in this league. He may not be good enough to start with new signings coming in but great to have in the squad. With such a long season, injuries come and James is capable of doing an average job in a variety of positions. However I agree that Mills' corners do look dangerous but I think James' corners have improved also. Both Lallana and James are quite poor at delivering balls from set pieces. Holmes or Mills should take these.
  24. I think it is quite harsh to judge Barnard's performance yesterday. He met up with the squad on Friday for training, had one session, barely knows the players and how they play. In a week's time he will look very good.
  25. Felt that Ipswich were the better side in the first half and looked dangerous however the second half was a complete turn around, with us dominating. Survived a nervous finish but we know Saints love to do that to us. Jaidi won everything today with Mills & Holmes looking good down the left. Barnard had an average game, was going to be hard for him having had one training session, barely knowing the other players games. Antonio looked great again coming on adding pace, great player to have in the squad. Keane said a draw would have been fair, I would agree with him but delighted to have got the win. Anybody know if it was us that switched halves at the toss in order to shoot towards the Northam second half?? I like it.
