  1. We've seen teams this year, take Rickie out of the game totally and these are League 1 defenders. Lambert is a League 1 striker/bottom half CCC striker. If Fonte was marking Rickie, I could see Fonte having him in his pocket all day. Premiership striker? No way.
  2. Poor result. Didn't take our chances so got punished. Personally, I gave up on the playoffs after Exeter away. Since then it has been about the team playing well ready for next season. Hopefully going to places like Wycombe away, Tranmere away etc will teach us lessons so that next season we can go there and win. We may have scored 5 goals in our last two games, but you can't expect it to happen week in week out. Players have off days and unfortunately one or two had that today with other not stepping up to compensate.
  3. Didn't take our chances. If you dont take your chances, you don't win games of football. Easy really.
  4. I had seen him play at Millwall, Exeter and against Stockport. Didn't think he was that great based on those games but today was fantastic. I think he needed time to bed in like alot of the signings. Learn other players games. Now looks great. Keep it up!
  5. The game: Puncheon was absolute class. Shame Barnard didn't get a hat trick but we have 6 awesome players: Lambert, Puncheon, Lallana, Barnard, Fonte & Schneiderlin. When they all tick we have just seen what they can do. Best performance all season. Walsall didn't have a sniff with Fonte winning every single ball. If we can keep performing like that then the results are going to flow!!
  6. Worried about this AP news. Like DellDays said he gave thumbs up to alan pardews red army which I don't think he normally does. Also at the end he made the extra effort to walk on the pitch and clap to the Northam. From previous games I know he gives the stadium a clap but normally doesnt walk towards the Northam. Maybe reading too much into it.
  7. Didn't someone post on here that they saw Pardew in Winchester?? Adam Lallana still lives with his parents
  8. Rickie has recently moved into his newly built house in North Baddesley after renting in Chandlers Ford since he signed.
  9. Great result. Shows we are good enough. Just got to keep it up. Playoffs are too far off for this season but for the remainder of this season our team can gel for next year. Lambert, Barnard, Puncheon & Lallana, probably the top attack four in league 1.
  10. We aren't going to make the playoffs, but our team is going to gel for a push next season! Puncheon what a signing
  11. Told you Barnard would shine today.
  12. Barnard to step up to the mark tomorrow. Prediction nowich 2-3 saints. Just got a feeling that Hammond, puncheon, lallana, lambert and Barnard are going to click!

    SICK

It's for ONE season, its not like it's forever. I will be happy with whatever NC chooses as the shirt. Will be nice to have something different for a season.
  14. So do we know whether you can ask for a specific block when tickets go on sale on Monday. Or are they going to sell them anticlockwise round, which I think i read somewhere.
  15. No way is Lambert a Premiership player and I don't believe Beckford is either. Both are CCC at best and I am pretty confident Rickie will be a Saints player next season. If he has another 25 goal+ season next year and we fail to go up then I can see him moving. I know it doesn't mean much but he is currently building a house in North Baddesley. Hopefully he will be with us for our time in the CCC
  16. Tim, firstly I wouldn't class a late goal until after the 75th minute myself. I understand what you are saying but teams tend to go for it more in the last 15 minutes or so resulting in more goals being scored in this period. I think this season we have conceded a fair few late-ish goals but if you look back to the beginning of the season when we couldn't buy a win, we had the nerves going on at the back which resulted in teams capitalising along with a dodgy initial back line. It's unfair to criticise Pardew for this. Unless we have world class defenders like Man Utd etc, late goals are always going to occur especially based on how each specific game has gone, in terms of is a team pushing for an equalizer and gets caught on the break, which was exactly what happened today. I'm also sure that if you looked into it in detail at teams other than say the top 4 in each division, over the course of the season, they would also concede a fair amount of late goals. It happens in football
  17. Agree. The pace of Pompey and that little bit more quality in the form of O'Hara caught us out as we went looking for an equalizer.

    Lallana

I fear we will lose him at the end of this season. Agree he was fantastic today. Makes our team tick, IMO.
  19. That would be ideal. Shame that hasn't happened already. Scary that a professional footballer can't take a good corner. Obviously I would rather have Lambert in the box at corners nodding them in, but until we can get someone to consistently put good corner in for him to score from, I am quite happy for him taking them for the like of Fonte, Hammond, Jaidi etc to attack.
  20. Sorry but Lambert's corners look bloody dangerous whereas nobody else in our team can do it (other than James arguably). If he can supply a dangerous ball we have capable peole in the box to nod it in e.g CB's
  21. Wow, flattering scoreline! We didn't take our chances in the first half and especially Lallana at the start of the second half. If you don't take your chances you aren't going to win games of football. Proud of how we competed today, Pompey just had that bit more pace and caught us on the break. Other than on the break, they really didn't threaten us. Just a bit frustrated at the scoreline as it was never a 4-1 game.
  22. Utaka and Dindane could tear our cup team up I fear. With no Fonte, I think we may struggle. O'hara is bloody useful in the centre too.
  23. 7 days!
  24. Disagree. Puncheon has got to play and use Antonio as an impact sub to inject pace. Seaborne ahead of Jaidi. Jaidi looked dodgy tonight Barnard, Papa, Lambert and Connolly (when fit) to be rotated up top.
