    Without the -10

Top teams still lose these sorts of games occasionally and can afford to, i.e Norwich lost at Tranmere the other week. However because of the -10 & poor start we really couldn't afford these slip-ups but they happen over the course of the season, even to the best teams.
  2. Exactly, they are usually guys who never were that good at playing it but knew the laws. As a result in some situations they go by how it is written in the law instead of understanding it from a playing perspective.

    Without the -10

It was our first 10 games that have cost us this season. Pardew has done a good job based on what he started with, looking forward to a couple more additions to the squad over the summer and we will be raring to go come August
  4. Yes but he has a great shot on him when he cuts inside. Keep him on the left in my opinion. One option may be to switch the wingers during the game just to mix it up a little.
  5. 500 left as of 3pm today
  6. Perhaps he could show his commitment to Saints by signing a new contract. I know they mean little in football these days, but it shows he wants to stay. Does he not only have 1 year left anyway?
  7. If AL is tempted by the likes of Spurs & Fulham then he needs to look no further than Delph at Villa. Yes he may be on triple the wage he was on at Leeds, but he has had hardly any appearances this season. Guess it comes down to whether the player is happy to sit on the bench & play for the reserves for a Prem team, or continue with a club which is on the rise where he is one of the key players for another season. If Saints do not go up next season then there is no doubt he will leave.
  8. 2/3 away games against rubbish opposition? That has been our downfall this season, e.g Tranmere, Stockport, Exeter.........
  9. Can see us winning this one which will keep peoples hopes up of reaching the playoffs. Can't really see us winning 7 games in a row though, especially with a couple of tricky away days, but you never know in football. I still have a tiny bit of hope left, but that will be crushed with a draw or loss in any of the remaining fixtures. Colchester host Swindon tomorrow and Huddersfield go to Brentford.
  10. Hang on, has Lallana not come out and said that he wants to be here next season. He will be here next season unless an absolutely ridiculous bid comes in which I doubt it will.
  11. OWTS slowly TWICE through and then the normal version.
  12. You can't just put a team out that haven't played together all season and expect to win. Hartlepool will be a tough side to break down initially. I expect Rickie & Lallana to play for about 70mins and if we have a two goal cushion then they will be brought off. Why is Puncheon not in the team, he can't play on Sunday. These players are professional athelete's, should be able to play 3 games in a week and there is every chance someone could get injured tonight as against MK Dons on Saturday.
  13. Highly unlikely that a Premiership team will pay the money we would want. Look, Rickie has just settled here, he will be here next season for sure. If we don't go up next season then yes it is very likely he will move.
  14. Isn't it only Puncheon & Barnard that can't play in the JPT? Assuming Otsemebor is still injured and Jaidi starts ahead of Seabourne. Can't see Pardew leaving Puncheon & Barnard out tomorrow. Perhaps DC will get 25mins ready for the JPT final.
  15. Will NC offer Thomas the same wage he is currently on at the moment. It is rumoured to be quite high isn't it? Will WT take a cut?
  16. Nothing really went for us last night and we never really clicked as a team. When Thomas didn't score the header from the free kick at the end of the first half, you started to wonder if it would be our night. Pretty much every single player played below average last night and the team looked quite tired. To be fair Swindon looked comfortable in the second half, knocking it around us with ease at the start and we didn't give them enough to worry about. Wilson worked out how to play against us and his players executed this at the same time as our guys being below par.
  17. What I meant was the 10,000 people that weren't at Walsall or Huddersfield will have hopefully seen enough to happily come back on Tuesday. The more we keep winning at home, the more full St Mary's will become which is how we like it to be.
  18. We were fantastic in the first half, Leeds couldn't handle us. Second half, we didn't really get going but had enough at the back to keep them quiet. All round solid performance really, everybody did their job well. Lambert worked his socks off, and the referee.....well how he has refereed premiership games, god knows. Two or three blatant fouls in the first half that should have been awarded to us wern't given, how? I have no idea. Puncheon looked fantastic once again, with Jaidi & Fonte brilliant in defence. Always nice to do Leeds over. Onto Tuesday now and I can't wait.
  19. With the win, hopefully some of the missing 10k will come back on Tuesday for Swindon
  20. I see what you mean, but the setup here has changed now. I think we will hold onto our good players until the end of next season. If we are promoted to the CCC then I believe they will continue to stay on, if not expect them to move on.
  21. Spot on. If we are still in League 1 at the end of next season then expect to see Lambert leave but not before then. He has just settled down here, there are other things he needs to think about other than football. He is on a decent wage here and I expect he is enjoying life on the south coast. As VectisSaint says, I've said it before, I really do not think Lambert is good enough for the Prem. CCC is his limit IMO. Would love him to prove me wrong getting there with us. I also firmly believe that Beckford is so over rated its incredible.
  22. Yea pretty sure he was covering at LB when Assou-Ekotto was away at the African Cup of Nations with Modric/Kranjcar playing LM. Bale has all the attributes to be a regular in a top 4 team within the next 3-4 years if he continues to develop.
  23. Always believed Bale was going to come good at Spurs even when their fans doubted it. Think he is going to turn into a top top player now.
  24. Yea realised he gets alot of games now. Was interesting watching him vs Bale last night
  25. Agree, but today I think it was simply the fact that his players didn't take their chances. He tried changing it, but bringing on Antonio and Papa didn't really make me feel at the time that we would get another goal. Those were the only two on the bench who could impact the game compared to the rest. Still think the squad lacks depth which can hopefully be sorted in the summer.
