It's not been great optics, taking freebies looks greedy, and triggers the casual observer to wheel out the lazy line, "they're all the same!" Hopefully Starmer's latest clarification will put a stop to it and let them get on with governing. In the meantime, Jenrick is up to his ears in it, again - the bloke stinks of corruption. Stories emerging now that he's taken personal donations from all kinds of companies that barely exist and look like fronts for money laundering. He has much explaining to do. -

Considerably more, and the cost of special advisers in the last chaotic year of Johnson was £12.9 million. The real story here is why the fuck are the BBC paying people so much? And secondly, when is Lord Duckhunter going to apologise for getting things so badly wrong? -

Lord Duckhunter, where is my defence of Huw Edwards that you allege? My observation was that the pro-Tory Sun delayed release of this important story for at least four weeks and then in standard tabloid style, chose to publish when the pressure on Boris hit its peak. In that news cycle Johnson was being forced by a court to release text messages, under pressure about his daughter's appointment and was being exposed for having protected his friend the MP sex offender, the appalling act that got him sacked. The main media supporter of the government couldn't lead with that, but they had the Edwards story up their sleeve so chose a specific date to release it, a day that very much suited the Tory press office. The Boris storm blew over, and as I suggested, the Sun got back to making up stories about the opposition or immigrants, and spoon-feeding those to the simple. You clearly have no grasp of how the media works in the UK, but you must understand the serious ramifications of labelling someone a paedo supporter on a public forum. You know that you have made a massive error. Now we just need your apology for suggesting that I defended a convicted paedophile. -

You can disagree on politics or football or whatever, but today you made up a story that I defended a convicted paedophile and you posted it on a public forum. You need to withdraw that allegation. -

You just accused me of defending a paedophile - that's a serious accusation that you need to back up. -
Once the whistle goes the players control the atmosphere, it was decent for 20 mins on Saturday. They need to up their fucking game, not us.

Johnson and Hancock killing old people in care homes......silence. Starmer cutting allowances to some wealthy ones....end of the world! Yawn. -
If you ever consider the BBC player ratings to be accurate just remind yourself that Tyler Dibling was comfortably outscored today by EVERY single Man Utd player, including Harry Maguire. Laughable.

The departed corrupt excuse for a government avoided making any decisions because they had already destroyed the economy and decided instead to adopt the negotiating strategy of a petulant shouty stubborn child, thus resulting in many working days lost through strike action and rock bottom morale across several sectors. To suggest that pensioners have been robbed to pay train drivers is the equivalent of wearing a T-Shirt that says "I'm thicker than a Boxing Day turd, I can't grasp basic concepts so I literally just repeat any mad drivel that the Telegraph prints." What we have learned though is that people who have spent the last 14 years fucking over the poor, the old and the disabled have suddenly developed empathy, which is progress - the country feels more united, which has to be good. -
I love the way they grandly call it a leadership race to - a. Glam it up b. Pretend they're still relevant. c. Add in fake urgency to make it exciting. In reality this vote is nothing more than a little sideshow, a Punch and Judy tent outside a Wembley gig, the rearranging of the corrupt, the changing of the arseholes - a project to amuse a small group of wealthy old people while some adults try to rebuild our country as a result of their last few decisions.

I thought our batting was appalling, then I saw us bowl... 😨 Lack of consistency, lines and lengths all over the show, too many balls inviting to be smacked. I guess it's good to get all of your mediocre performances out of the way in one hit.

Have we established yet whether these Oasis gigs are going to feature an actual Oasis line-up? I've seen Noel, he was cool, wouldn't cross the road to see Liam, and certainly wouldn't suck off Ticketbastard to be part of what is clearly a massive rip-off. At least the Pistols were honest about it.

I'm starting to wonder whether the atmosphere may be influenced by what goes on in the game... Anyone who was gleefully dancing around waving their foam hands and letting off pyros while we were pinned back trying to play goalkicks out of our own six yard box, wasn't reading the room. If we get to score a goal one day, perhaps the Northam might sound better. I also suspect that if you sit in the Chapel next to the opposition fans, you'll probably hear them more than if you were further away. It's like the Father Ted cows thing, but in audio form.

People who arrive inside stadiums or theatres and still have no grasp of how a simple seating system works. It's just fucking numbers and the alphabet - you must understand that D is between C and E? That's seat no.40, and we know that because there's a little clue, it's written on it - you want no.50, so how about you follow the numbers that are getting bigger rather than staring blankly and heading over the other side of the place and getting in the fucking way of people in a row that you have no need to visit? See you all tomorrow...good luck everyone, we can do this.

Yeah, that was a mixed bag, I get the 'fuck you, I played for England', he's right on that, less attractive is the ringing around boasting 'look at all the white people I get to work for me'... And he doesn't seem to have grasped that Ron wasn't racist (in front of him, but he clearly was when not in the company of black people.)

No Brexiteer should be moaning about these changes, they voted to be outside the EU and we are, with all the additional costs, complications and economic damage that entails. Anyone who is surprised about this clearly didn't grasp what they were actually voting for and may be too stubborn and proud to admit that they were conned. But they are victims of a scam and should be treated as such, it's not their fault.

Jury-botherer Tommy, spoon-feeding more made-up shit to his simpleton army, who gobble it down and regurgitate it as fact. The career criminal was recalled to jail after pleading guilty to violent disorder and causing racially-aggravated distress because he got physical and threatened the police. Next.

An Englishman, Irishman and a Scotsman attempt to burn down a hotel, they attack the police and steal everything they can from a local shop as a statement of free speech, it's just their way of voicing genuine concerns about sovereignty.

Brexit has been a roaring success helping to keep immigration under control and allowing UK businesses and whole sectors to thrive, delivering record exports - we've never had it so good! Anyone who thinks otherwise is clearly a bitter leftie, pinko, bad loser, UK-hating, woke remoaner type who needs to believe more and stop hating being British. Go Boris, Go Nigel! No, really, fucking go, get out of here you pair of grifting conmen - and when you get there, fuck off from there too, and take Rupert and Stephen with you.
-
Is it too early for a must win game? Nah, not if you want to stay up. Drop points at Newcastle, Liverpool, Man City etc, but you have to win home games against relegation rivals whenever they come in the season. Must win.
-
Well, that seems to be the bones picked out anyway.

I bet this includes the 30% of men who believe they could take up a new sport tomorrow and be world class level before the next Olympics. I'm particularly keen to see the guys who are going to boss professional cycling once they've been to Halfords. We've become a country with a stupidity problem.

I know that we're blessed to share this forum with renowned experts in subjects as diverse as Middle-Eastern geography, Russian diplomacy, EU trading conditions and US political history, but it's good to see now that the world's leading academics in developmental biologyclinical genetics are also Saints fans and happy to share their expertise having analysed all of the medical notes of these cases. Steve has clearly been gently culling the less qualified posters all these years so now his social experiment is just left with the finest minds - a forum of recognised experts in the most complex of issues, and we're also lucky here to have some who are experts on literally everything.
