A corrupt regime driven by greed falls out with another.

Why have we still not seized or frozen the London assets of the vast majority of those UK-passported Russians linked to Putin? I fully understand why we don't want to shoot down planes, but there is so much more that can be done in our own backyard that will both damage Putin and help us to clean up our economy.
-
I thought Putin was going to mainly just display strength by rocking up in towns with tanks and dealing ruthlessly with any soldiers who didn't lay down their arms. I honestly didn't expect him to randomly bomb housing estates and kill kids - have some of his forces gone trigger-happy, or is this how he wants the world to remember him? It's not a good look.

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

Ramped-up is a phrase straight out of numerous no.10 press releases. Unprecedented, leading the world, shoulders to the wheel, working 24-7, no stone unturned - the language of waffle. -
Nothing has changed, this vague handover of control is irrelevant. Chelsea is still his asset, if the UK had the balls to seize it and freeze the cash he has tied up in London, that might get the attention of him and his mate Putin.

Tories today claiming that Johnson is standing on the front line alongside armed forces as a true global leader, while the man himself told parliament this week that we are leading the world's response against Russia. 1. What have we actually done? 2. Why do they keep making up mad shit like this? It's a fucking war, people are dying, let's do something constructive, sensible and dignified for a change.
-
Russian tanks in the streets, and how does the West defiantly fight back? Our media suddenly starts pronouncing Kiev differently to how the Russians say it... If that plucky act of defiance doesn't halt the tanks, I'm not sure what fucking can. 😕
-
Maybe the threats from Liz Truss didn't scare Putin as much as we thought. Perhaps we should freeze the assets of another bank and see if that stops the invasion.... I'm glad we're leading the world on this, it's going very well.

Yeah, Jack was formidable - white hair, white coat, no one was coming in - and even if they were, he wasn't happy about it. They should have played him in the back four. And the players lounge had those noisy metal steps up to it - Dave Watson was a huge Quo fan, he never missed their local gigs.

It would be. If Barry was in government and had power, and we were on the verge of being at war with China. But he isn't and we aren't, so it's not.

Are cabinet ministers and the Conservative party still taking vast sums of money from Russian donors? This could get complicated for some of them...

I just feel slightly guilty that we only won because we had our trademark sneaky illegal drinks and snacks break when Che was violently clattered and refused to get up. The odd gel is acceptable, but when Ralph wheeled out the BBQ and set up a picnic table and white board in the technical area, it looked too much. I'm surprised the 4th official didn't stop the coaching staff passing around the plates of sandwiches, sausage rolls and lemon drizzle cake - it's not The Southampton Way.

Pickford kicking the ball as far as possible to some vague big man who rarely wins it is not a tactic, it's a comedic tribute to football past. Great to see little us, with our magical drinks breaks, playing so well - and massive clubs like Everton looking clueless.
-
Who wants to be a massive club? Beating Burnley 5-0 every time and chucking your toys out and demanding major changes when you occasionally lose to other massive clubs doesn't look like much fun. When not winning the Champions' League is a total disaster, you've lost touch with the fans.

The Athletic article about Saints' mystery injuries around 60mins
rallyboy replied to Saint NL's topic in The Saints
I was amused against Man City when the only breathers we got were for VAR checks to see if we'd done anything wrong. We badly needed to break their momentum and it was better than any gel or injury break. -
At least he's not a sweaty nonce, he just accidentally hung out with sex offenders on a regular basis, so that's a relief. Onwards and upwards, get the bunting, lay the tables, it's Royal street party year - don't mention the out of court settlement, I mentioned it once but I think I got away with it.

United don't look so clever without Mike Dean running things box-to-box - failing to replace him might cost them a top four place. Hopefully those two points today will hurt them.

Sorry to hear that, -
Three great finishes! Adams' in particular - a cross curling and spinning in like that, he had to generate the power and get the direction spot on. I'm not sure why Lloris didn't go for the second one, presumably beaten for pace - it was a top class header but not far away from him. What a fantastic win. And we made that massive club Spurs look chaotic, I think they could in fifty years time reflect on Leicester's season as the one that got away.

I'm pretty sure that Cummings and Johnson didn't lie to Leave voters just to further their own careers and to assist their wealthy backers who have cashed in on Brexit. There will be a simple explanation and I'm certain that the many benefits that were promised for the UK will emerge at any moment....

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

Yes, the entire narrative has indeed been torn up by a scripted interview with a bunch of dangerous lunatics, brought to us by a bloke with an interesting Twitter timeline. And it all means we can now get back to pretending that Johnson is doing a great job, getting on with it, levelling-up, building back better, getting Brexit done, shoulder to the wheel, 24-7, all in it together, getting the big decisions right, bringing crime down, the economy up, and allowing us, the plucky Brits, to lead the world in every field of human endeavour - unlike the other parties who all hate their own country and talk us down by explaining the real figures and highlighting something we used to call reality. If it was up to the opposition parties we'd be seeing rocketing energy and food prices, 150,000 dead, money wasted, taxes rising and Russian money sloshing around Westminster! God Bless Boris. -
The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.
rallyboy replied to CB Fry's topic in The Lounge
A baying mob surrounds Starmer in the street and shouts 'paedo protector' and 'nonce' at him, repeating a lie told by our Prime Minister, and in that moment Johnson's evolution into Trump is complete - tell mad lies to the extremists and let them get to work. We can no longer laugh at how stupid America was. Surely no one can honestly believe that Johnson is a positive force for the UK and continue to defend him now? He should be sacked. Forget resignation, he needs to be dragged off to fecking jail. -

As we're limited with the quality of our fringe players, looking at it on paper we've managed the cup well so far. It didn't feel like it in that first half yesterday, but we did enough at Swansea, and got the job done yesterday against a decent team with great support. But it certainly highlighted who is up to first team football and who isn't...no need to name them, it was obvious. And whoever had the idea at the design stage of giving away the Northam to all FA Cup visitors, didn't think it through.
