Not some of the present day 'commentators' ALL OF THEM The best thing ever invented for TV football is the 'Mute' button Some, oops sorry, a long time back football was shown with the option of no commentary only the crowd background alas no chance of that with the dreaded 'Sky' and 'BT'

Why on earth did Forster stand like a statue and watch the Costa header go by him. The header was saveable.surely.and then there would have been two more points in the kitty. Can't fault him for the second half display, however. ex-Saint Gary Monk's boys can do us a favour tonight.

I sometimes wonder what he,(Sharp), could have been like under RonKo's tutorship

Eljero Elia - Confirmed 6 Month Loan
Eastcowzer replied to Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd's topic in The Saints
Think you've got the gist, the problem is. ? Mane is coming back! and his trouble is that nobody has impressed upon him that 'your supposed to take the ball with you' when you make a break no matter how fast you can run. and also that there four white posts at each end of the pitch and the ball has to go between the middle two for a goal. -
My apologies too. So have I. As Frank Carson would say 'Its a cracker'

...and 'The Star' claims we are interested in Leonel Vangioni, current playing as a left-sided midfielder for River Plate,(Argentina). His on-line profile claims his preferred position is left-back. Valued at £1.32 million one draw-back is probably his age, (27) though Pelle is now 29 so does age matter if he can do the job. (see On-line Sky Sports News, Paper Talk).

Thanks for the correction. It just that I'm getting all excited - but not sexually, alas. !

Anybody know when the tickets are being issued ? Just over 3 weeks to kick-off.

Look at Lens what ?

Last Saturday morning 'Trooping the Colours' shown on 'the Beeb' had the option of No commentary but still kept the back-ground sound. B...dy marvellous. ! Why can't the Beeb do the same with the World Cup broadcasts. I don't have some prat yapping in my ear at SMS so why do I have to suffer one paid handsomely from my licence fee. ? No point in putting this to ITV as its a struggle for them to even show the goals.

If he's that good why has he been out on loan this season, given Sunderland's parlous position in the league

Walker out of World Cup, room for Clyne?
Eastcowzer replied to Golac's Iron Gonads's topic in The Saints
Well they would would'nt they as long its not a Saints player . Biased. Never ! And what anybody sees in Wilshere is beyond me. A walking medical case, and not a very inspiring player for either club or country, in spite of what the London dailies would have us believe. -
Ralph Krueger - post-match comments in hospitality suite

This. ! At the the moment it is shambolic and in-audable. -
Was'nt Moyes interviewed by Saints before he joined Everton. If not, I think he was 'deffo' on the prospective list of candidates, while he was still at Preston.

Not seen any reference to Cody Cropper. I know he's young but he has played for the U.S. first team. I've not personally seen him play, so how do those who have, rate him. ? Does he deserve to be retained. ?

No. Hutch your're not the only one The ECB should do away with the Central Contracts and pick players on merit and not for good attendance, as seems to be the case at the moment Pietersen's general approach to cricket appears to be purely financial and to hell with anybody else. No one player is bigger than the team, Having said that, there are a few others in the current Test squad whose heads should also roll, and some who should never have been picked in the first place. Surely they can't all have lost form at the same time, or can they?
-
Precisely. WTF is he. ?

Inclined to agree with you , bpsaint, although having watched 'official-dom' at SMS over the past season there is some mitigation for referees when they are saddled with the incompetence of some nerds masquerading as linesmen, nay, Assistant Referees, no less, especially now they are all wired up to radio links with each other. Surely itsnot rocket science to be able to look straight across a field and say wether an attacking player is a), off-side, b) interfering with play, is fouled by a defender, and the said defender did, or did not, touch the ball with any part of his anatomy between shoulser and finger-tip, or cause the attacker to be bundled over. If they can't do those simple tasks they should never be allowed anywhere near a whistle or a flag.

He may not be the worst but he's far from being the so called best Replay of the World Cup Final. The Itchen-side lino' Mike Mullarky also ran the World Cup line and we all know what a shambles of officialdom that was when Holland could quite easily have finished with eight men if the rules had been correctly applied. No problem with Miss Massey on the Kingsland-side. As mentioned earlier she has performed superbly in her visits to SMS - in spite of the duffers in the middle.

No Suewhistle, Pompey are quite good at losing matches for free so why bother bribing them

Waste of time going then. Stay home and save your money.

What do you expect from a World Cup referee and allegedly England top official. Your 'avin' a laff. remember the cock-up he made with the World Cup Final. Both teams knew he was totally indecisive and took full advantage. He should have gone to Specsavers,

Best Saints pubs to visit before and after a game
Eastcowzer replied to Ottawa Saint's topic in The Saints
Why not try the 'Red Lion' on the Queen Elizabeth Mile, (formerly the Lower High Street). The oldest pub in So'ton. Beer is reasonably priced, (£3.10 for a pint of Carling) The grub is excellent value for the money, too, but be hungry before you order or take your own 'doggie bag' 'The Platform' is a pub built into the old town walls. Beers are well kept but are a bit pricey,(3.80 for Fosters).
