Well, my view is that we need a striker (or two) anyway. I don't think J Rod is anywhere near being able to have the sort of impact we need from a striker.

Easy one to assess really. We competed well but not at all clinical up front. If we had been clinical up front in the first half, it could have been a different outcome. We're definitely missing "something" in the team at the moment .... really good in areas and weak in others. Personally, I think Clasie is miles out of his depth in the Prem. van Dijk has been our best signing, but as soon as we lose our other strong CB we are in trouble. It's been the same at the back (and between the posts) for several seasons now. We have good attacking players, but when momentum is against us that counts for very little. No effective breaking up play. No keeping the ball. No creativity. Morgan has been an immense loss IMO. But he isn't irreplaceable - we just don't have a replacement in the squad at the moment.

As poor as we were in that second half, I thought the back 4 were still pretty solid. They held things together and were resilient despite the midfield not protecting them as much as they should have. Cedric was excellent in particular. Wanyama is a shadow of his former self. Not at all imposing anymore and getting more and more clumsy. At the end of the day - it is a win. We were strong in the first half and took our chances. Bournemouth were strong in the second half but still didn't really create anything clear cut. That is the difference and is why we are sitting 7th tonight.
