What a load of rubbish. Do you seriously believe that the Premier League is the only League where clobs are run along normal commercial business lines? As for the payment plan, it shouldn't have been withdrawn at short notice. However in general terms if the club doesn't like the idea of people setting up Direct Debits, getting a Season Ticket, then cancelling the DD and continuing to use the ticket to gain access and sit in a different seat, who can blame them? I wouldn't.

Steve - is it OK if I pay £1 down for a years membership. I'll give you the rest next week (unless I forget of course).
-
You're probably right regarding the half season tickets - but so what? If the club would rather sell match tickets than pander to JCL's it's their choice. On the other hand, all of these payment plans end up with the club coughing up when the odd cheating fan stops his payments. While I think advance notice should have been given I can understand that the club wants out of these schemes.

Interesting - so Stu just say for example you were setting up a business to run coach travel for away games. Would you operate it at cost or for a profit?

Salisbury City refused entry to BSP next season
lenwilkins replied to stevegrant's topic in General Sports
Whilst not directly Saints related, some of you might not be aware that Salisbury are under threat of relegation from the Conference to 2 leagues below where they are currently. Salisbury are, of course, managed by ex Saints Tommy Widderington and Nick Holmes, and Aaron Martin went there on loan this Season.. Salisbury's crime is that they went into administration last season and recieved the mandatory 10 point penalty. Without this penalty, they would have finished 1 place below the Play-Off Places - a remarkable achievement considering they had a ban on signing new players and the smallest budget in the League. They were taken over during the Season and the new Directors reached agreement with all of their creditors to repay their bills. All creditors are happy, as far as i can tell, and scheduled repayments are being maintained. This is different from Pompey, who are walking away from 80% of their non football debts! However, the League - in their infinite stupidity - have declared that "rules being rules" the Club has not cleared all debts and therefore must be severely punished - hence their double relegation. The Club are appealing against this decision. There is an online Facebook petition http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=128570467155691 which aims to get 5,000 supporters by Saturday - they currently stand at 3,000. So if you'd like to support this campaign to save a local club from rank Conference stupidity, please support this petition. -
Stu has seen the light and is now posting on the enlightened grown-ups forum: http://www.clubfanzine.com/southampton/v2.forum.posts.php?id_t=145843#30

There is definitely a section of humanity that relish in other people's misfortunes - in Motorway accidents they're called rubber-neckers. Well done to the OP for coming out and admitting that he has a psychological problem. You are a step nearer to becoming a real human.

I think it rather depends whether you have the gift of foresight does it not?

Good luck Duncan. I'm not a great Union man but I can quite believe that this action is the latest action in BA heavy handed game plan to become the English version of Ryanair. PS Will this give you more time to get an update of ITN together?

No worries os I'm on the Warminster bus. Thanks anyway.
-
I have asked Warminster Saint to reserve me 3 seats and as long as he can fit us in we'll go with him but I wouldn't mind having your mates details just in case he has a problem. My email is rapidentz@tiscali.co.uk. Thanks.
-
Hi I could well be interested in 3 tickets. We're in Salisbury so would be able to get to Amesbury or Andover. Could you email me details of pick ups etc if you still have seats please as am unable to PM on here as a Registered User. rapidentz@tiscali.co.uk Thanks

Herbie and his wife have been invited by Nicola Cortese to be his Boardroom guests tonight which is a nice touch. He will be on the pitch at half time and they will be re-running a video of him at work that was shown at the awards ceremony.
-
Absolutely, very altruistic of you.
-
I quite agree with you Stu - how dare anyone actually try to get more tickets for Saints fans? Much more constructive to sit in your armchair and talk a load of sh!te.

On Twitter now: boss Alan Pardew cites "negativity" as the reason for his brief post-match interview on Saturday. Hear clip on Solent @ 1630/1830.

That's what I read in The Times today Pat. Obviously wasn't in GM's Daily Express.

Only too pleased to help guys. I'm only passing info on that I got from The Ugly Inside Saints Forum though. Y'all should give it a go. It's cool and it's free and easy to join and post. http://www.clubfanzine.com/southampton/v2.forum.categories.php?id_categ=37

Pointless post, our manager knows what he's doing and you know he does.

This answer is probably a little to rational for this site.

...and then there's the real world. A great fighting comeback and a good result.
