  1. Swindon chairman Lee Power said on the BBC Wiltshire fans phone in today that they're in discussions to take him back on loan next season. Is this a good idea?
  2. It's Forster or McCarthy for me. Boruc is still a top class goalkeeper but he needs to be pushed. Gazzaniga and Davis simply don't do that. Gazzaniga and Cropper could do with going out on loan.
  3. I also liked Carlton Palmer. Violinists & road sweepers.
  4. I'm also not going to get too excited about 12 minutes at the World Cup for Gaston Ramirez but I also think he's had a difficult time at Saints where he's shown flashes of brilliance unrivalled by his peers. My hope is that RK can get the best out of him and we have a truly wonderful player on our hands. With regards to Alpine wanting a player that contributes for 90 minutes instead of 5, my guess is that he preferred watching Carlton Palmer play for Saints than MLT. I'm quite sure I remember some manager or another talking about violinists and road sweepers, but then what would he know.
  5. If we could get someone like Blinds, that would be a fantastic signing. I think Kolodziejczak would be more of a stopgap until Targett was ready to challenge for the position
  6. You can tell which one of those three is the fitness coach. Is Koeman the Dutch equivalent of McDonald?
  7. Hmmm, lots of journalists and agents in close proximity at the World Cup and we get stories of players wanting to leave clubs. I can't think who'd benefit from this sort of story.
  8. Koeman looks like a great appointment. Someone who has done it as a player and a manager.
  9. Sherwood will go to West Brom so we can rule him out
  10. He used to run a six a side team for a pub near Bath in the 80s. Always had a few ringers. One year his team had Jason Dodd and my dad's had Fitzroy Simpson. He told me I'd play centre mid for Saints one day (I was 6) so he doesn't get them right all the time!
  11. I think Swindon will be looking to do loan deals with a few PL clubs next season. They've had three from Spurs this season and are an attractive proposition because their style of football is good (passing, good movement etc). Stephens has been impressive so far. His positional sense is good, he tackles well but the thing that stands out for me is his temperament. He doesn't panic, generally looks like he has enough time to play the ball and although he has made a few mistakes (he's young and Swindon's style sometimes means that pressure is invited on to the back three), he doesn't let it affect his game.
  12. I still don't get it. Rose kicks Lambert in the face and doesn't get a yellow then he stamps on Davis and wins a free kick. Shouldn't he be off by now?
  13. Why not compromise by letting him wear his shirt as long as he paints his face in red and white stripes
  14. I've been watching Swindon a lot this season and the style of play will suit Saints as a club to send their players too. I think he'll do well.
  15. It is a red card but only goes to highlight that footballers are incredibly soft. It's part of what is turning people away from football and moving to other sports. If I saw a Saints player react like Flores, I'd be more annoyed at his reaction than the actual foul. In totally non-realted news, did anyone see that Jonny May trained for the England rugby team today - four days after breaking his nose. My main worry is that in excusing their behaviour, football fans are becoming as soft as the players.
  16. I'll add to that - how does he get into the team ahead of anyone in the saints crowd?
  17. How does Hooiveld get in the team ahead of both Fonte and Yoshida?
  18. Brilliant 4th goal but note to commentator - it was Le Tissier-esque, not Gascoigne-esque
  19. Comeback for Kevin Miller? Gomes did ok when on loan in Germany last season and Spurs will want him in the shop window for Jan.
  20. Was anyone at the game when the wall fell down?
  21. Guest on 5live is David Armstrong talking about us being amazing
  22. Piece about saints on at around half seven

  24. Why not draw a line under the "who said what" bickering of the past and agree that Morgan is an incredibly talented midfielder who is one of the best in the PL?
  25. Don't know if this has been posted but read this very interesting article about how our tactics have changed this season: http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/2013-14/oct/talking-tactics-saints-success-built-on-solid-foundations.html
