Fair play to koeman in picking target for the midfield. Done more in these first 15mins than jwp has done for half the season.

James Ward-Prowse's list of indisputable, unimprovable weaknesses
Saint Benali replied to ScepticalStan's topic in The Saints
What a load of horse ****. I appreciate some people on here will do anything to try and big up a player they like but to downplay others careers or indicate JWP will be at the level of Iniesta, Xavi etc is just laughable. When Iniesta was 19 years old he played 46 games in his second full season at Barca. Including 9 CL games. He was the only player to make that amount of games that year. When he was 20 he won the CL. When he was JWP age he had just become a full international but had already played 124 la liga games and 34 CL games. And not to mention 14 goals.... Xavi in his first season when he was 17 played 17 games for Barca in La Liga and 6 in the CL. He also won the young player of the year award in his first season. When he was 21 he was a already a key player for the national team. In the following world cup he played 2 of the 3 group games and 1 of the 2 knockout games. By JWP age he had already played 125 la liga games and 45 cl games. I could go on but I won't as it is silly. Iniesta and Xavi were quality players from the moment they got into the team. Playing huge parts in winning the league and CL. The PL is not la liga but it doesn't matter where you play. A good player will be a good player regardless. Ronaldo did just as good in England as he is in Spain. The same goes for players like Bale. Technical players. Ozil is now doing it in England as is Sanchez etc People like to think England is this huge physical league where technical players can't play, which just isn't true. I think you will find the vast majority of people support the lad and want to see him do well. What annoys me are posts like yours designed to generate some kind of hype towards the player. That is all well and good but I live in the here and now and right now JWP has been garbage. I do not see anything in him to suggest he will be anywhere near the level of the people you mention. Because if he was do you really think no clubs in the world will have come in for him? Shaw, Chambers, Bale, Wallcott, OX etc all left a lot younger than him. If he is so rated why did the big clubs not go for him early so he could be part of their HG players? As others have said he has had his chance and every game I see him just strolling around doing nothing at all it becomes more and more noticeable how out of his depth he is. We need someone who actually influences the game in that position. -
I saw someone mention it is to do with not only results but the lack of playing time for the kids. Wonder how much that is true. I guess if our policy is to sell every summer you need some home grown youngsters to shine through, which is difficult if they are not playing.

Prowse crosses the ball, goes out commentator says "He has been terrible today". Sums it up for a lot of players today. No ideas, players playing selfish looking for a move, no team spirit, no team play, no tactics, poor subs, If this continues we will be in a relegation fight no doubt about it. 6 defeats in our last 9 games. Only 1 win. That is not good enough.

Think Classie, Cuco and Tadic are doing well. VVD and Long not so good. And JWP is just total ****. Drag his ass off at HT and put Mane on. Or Reed. Or just take him off and play with 10 men.
-
VVD and JWP having a mare already
-
Think Koeman has finally worked out JWP is actually **** tbh.
-
Tadic hit it towards goal and Jenkinson deflected it. For it to be an OG Tadic's touch would of need to be making the ball go wide. Which is was not. So therefore was Tadic's goal.

Tadic really is quality

First season I think he did a miracle job to be honest. We got into Europe and played some decent stuff. This season we sold too many quality players who had been a large part of our squads team spirit. The balance of the spine was sold off and we have failed to recruit the right people to plug those holes. Romeu, Clasie, Martina and Caulker are simply not at the level of the players they were here to replace. While it is true Koeman will of had some influence on these transfers I think it is more down to how much he has been given to spend. A £5m reject who has hardly played is never going to be at the same level as one who has played nearly week in week out for 5 years at the top levels. We were told by Ralph and Les that all transfer money made would be put back into the team. By my rough calculations that should mean we still have around £35m to spend. So I don't blame Koeman, he can't stop players leaving. The board can though. Everton said they would rather Stones left on a free then sell him, even after he handed in a request. My opinion is the board need to back up their claims about the club competing for the top 6. You don't do that by selling your best players every summer.

Youngsters who got their debut under MP were Mcqueen, Gallagher, Sinclair, Reed. He also gave PL debuts to Chambers. While not giving players like Shaw their debuts he gave them a lot of game time and they clearly improved from that. Our squad at that time was fairly young overall.
-
They are 0-2 up and look at their pressing. Then look at ours. I remember when we used to do that...
-
James Ward Beckham coming on. Better than Lampard and Gerarrd combined. Ericksen can learn how to take a free kick if he watches him!
-
It was Classie who gave it away. Just watched it back. But that is quite funny
-
davis has been our most affective forward player and he gets dragged off..... Whats next superstar James ward Beckham to come on for Mane when chasing the game?
-
i think we playing alright to be honest. Both keepers are having a great game. I wouldnt change anything right now.

James Ward-Prowse's list of indisputable, unimprovable weaknesses

To be fair that corner was pretty horrific. People slate Romeu sometimes but I thought he was very brave, as how many times do we see balls like that come in and a player goes into the post? -

Who were these people slagging Morgan off? I have tried to find that thread but couldn't. All I remember was that first season in League one we were ****. Everyone was really. Morgan was 18-19 that season not 21 as is JWP. The difference I find with the two is that we all knew what type of player Morgan was. We knew he would be a defensive CM. He had to build up a lot of his game and physical attributes to become that type of player. Where as JWP after 100+ appearances I still have no idea what type of player he is or what position he will develop into. He isn't a creative CM, he isn't a winger, he isn't a defensive CM. For me that is what annoys me about the team right now. If we had a creative player in the middle in the mould of someone like Silva, Mata or even Rat Boy we would score more goals. Those players are expensive and obviously wouldn't come here. But the point remains the same, we need someone who can create things now, not 'could maybe one day'. -

They rate him so highly that younger players who played far less get picked ahead of him for the national team. Delle Alli etc. And those who are the same age and have far less experience get picked ahead of him Eric Dier, Lingard (who played a total of 4 pl games in his life when he was picked). All I hear is how they rate his ability from dead ball situations. Football is far more then that. -
Another 45mins were JWP has done **** all. Except for a bad tackle ofc.
-
That was a bad tackle by JWP, lucky to get away with that

I really do think some people see something that doesn't actually happen with Prowse. He doesn't tackle, he doesn't break up attacks and he gives the ball away a lot. http://www.squawka.com/players/james-ward-prowse/stats#avg.-duels-won#southampton-(current)#english-barclays-premier-league#8#season-2015/2016#165#all-matches#1-14#type He has made one tackle all season. 75% (27) of his defensive actions is to clear the ball. He has made 7 interceptions. To put that into perspective Pelle has 5 interceptions. That great defensive player Tadic has 10. He even has 12 tackles! I think some on here really do want Prowse to become this Saints legend but his performances are below average. He has the same opta score as Yoshida and look how slated he get's.

Ok was a bit knee jerk. Probably should be deleted! But to clarify I meant It in regards to recent comments from our manager. But to be fair they have gone a bit quiet really. The last time anything was said that I can remember was the fans forum which was mid October. Before that I can't remember. (July was last Reed statement). Now I am not saying give us an hourly update as quite frankly that would be as stupid as my post. But It would be nice maybe once a month to give an interview or something.
-
Funny how ol Ralph and Les come out and talk when things are going well but yet we have not heard from them for quite some time. I believe Koemans recent comments indicate something isn't quite right behind the scenes. What that is I don't know but it would look as our boards plan and Koemans do not match.

Feel sorry for Mane, Tadic, Davis and Wanyama as they have played very well. The defence have totally let them down.
