As far as I am aware Stern was on about £10,000 a week before his contract expired. Crystal Palace's striker Shefki Kuqi was on about the same and was transfer listed because they decided they were unable to pay his wages. Kuqi is now gone but despite that I doubt they would be offering Stern anywhere near £10,000 and I doubt it would be considerably more than Southampton. Furthermore, now we have got rid of some of the higher earners like Skacel, BWP and Euell and reduced other wages you would think they would be able to offer Stern John, not £10,000 but, an acceptable Championship wage. Although I admit I don't know what an acceptable Championship or League One wage is.

The "give it to Adam" shouts and "it's about bloody time" regarding Wotton worry me a little bit. My flatmate is a Charlton fan and he reckons the main reason Pardew failed at Charlton was that he lost the respect of the players. I doubt that is likely to happen any time soon, especially with such a young squad, but it seems these kind of comments could create rifts in the squad, especially if Pardew starts playing favourites with players that no-one else rates. I pray to God he doesn't bring Luke Varney to Southampton.

My flatmate is a Charlton fan, had Southampton gone I thought I might buy a season ticket and go see games with him. I definitely prefer having the League One rivalry though. There were a couple of days after the Pinnacle bid collapsed where I was so down in the dumps that I couldn't even contemplate going to a football game again.

I don't think there's any way of knowing whether or not ML would have bought the club or who would be manager had Pinnacle not entered into the exclusivity deal. In terms of how it affects us, I'm not necessarily expecting to go up this season anyway so in the long term its had very little impact. I'm just disappointed we ended up selling so many players for next to nothing and really disappointed we couldn't keep hold of Surman, I think he would've thrived under Pardew.

I'd say about £25m

I think Max Gradel is one of Leicester's best prospects, I'd be surprised if we picked him up considering Leicester don't really need to sell anyone. My flatmate is a Charlton fan, he keeps saying how Charlton's midfield are Premiership standard and it was their defence and attack which let them down last season. I think Racon would be an excellent signing and if he has links with Pardew then its likely we'll be able to get him. I do feel we need a bit of a shake up up front. We have good strikers but they have no passion and seem a bit stale. Does anyone know how old Dickson is?
