Stop me if you think that you've heard this one before - The Smiths (and some rubbish cover version more recently).

Pineapple - I mean PINNACLE!!

There is a light that never goes out - The Smiths

Good luck Mark. Please can this be an end to the managerial merry-go-round of the last 20 years?
-
The Boys are Back in Town - Thin Lizzy (I think Sunderland use this however). Alternatively, Fiesta by The Pogues.

E.g. On arrival at Saints. Reporter: Welcome to Southampton Football Club. Do you think you are the right man to turn things around? Strachan: No. I was asked if I thought I was the right man for the job and I said, "No, I think they should have got George Graham because I'm useless."

Exeter away - shortest distance to travel although I am gutted that we are not playing Argyle any more. Home Park is only 5 miles away. It's 40 odd to Exeter.
-
Quite right. My mistake - it appears Anderton is an old boy of Bitterne Park.

Darren Anderton went to St. Mary's College.

For those who won't be getting a season ticket next year
Charlie2008 replied to Mole's topic in The Saints
Good shout. Have let my family's memberships go in recent seasons as tickets are easily available when required but got caught out in the play-off season when I couldn't get tickets. Lets get the membership levels up. COYR. -
Is this the consensus of opinion? I am yet to hear of any theme as in previous years for the last away game and nobody seems to have organised anything, as Griffo predicted. I know we have little to celebrate but no need to be too depressed surely. We'll be back so let's have a great day and go out with a bang...

I also remember some quite volatile matches vs. Birmingham City at the Dell especially one year after the last home game of the season (?80s). The Highbury semi-final vs. Everton in 84 was a particularly bad example and probably the worst I have experienced. This season's 'handbags' pale into insignificance...

Saints 2-2 Burnley Post Match Reaction - Saints Relegated
Charlie2008 replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
Well that's that then. Regroup and prepare for a season in the third tier! I can't believe it has come to this. COYR -
Always cheers me up when I'm down. Agree with Griffo, chorus will do, perhaps preceeded by intro... would make a change from Swing L**e...

The Woolston Ferry I looked over Woolston and what did I see Coming for to carry me home? That old Woolston Ferry coming towards me, Coming for to carry me home . . . If you're ever out in Sholing And you want to go to town Don't you go via Bitterne That's the long way round Take a trip across the ferry Take a trip across the sea And if you're a pedestrian, you can go for free . . . On the Woolston Ferry It doesn't travel very fast It was never built for comfort It was built to last On two steel hauses Across the river it'll creep The steel glints in the sunlight And flops back into the deep And from the deck of the ferry What a wonderful sight All they shipwrights grafting At Thorneycrofts on the right On the Woolston Ferry It doesn't travel very fast It was never built for comfort It was built to last Go and see Lowry's painting In the art gallery Of this wonderful relic of a past centruy When I sing of its construction You'll be surprised to learn That the bow going one way Coming back becomes the stern! On the Woolston Ferry It doesn't travel very fast It was never built for comfort It was built to last See the weather-beaten captain With his weather-beaten tan He don't wear no gold braid He's a corporation man And the captains of the ferry They're a dying race Cos there ain't no ex-tram drivers To go and take their place On the Woolston Ferry It doesn't travel very fast It was never built for comfort It was built to last But the floating bridge has had it They say it's got to go Cos the motorists don't like it At 15p a throw So they build a bridge of concrete Very modern, very high But every time I use it I look down on either side . . . On the Woolston Ferry It doesn't travel very fast It was never built for comfort It was built to last, to last

Scary stuff. Well done boys - ground out a result at last.

Goal - DMG screamer!
-
Nobody has told the goon on SSN - he just reported that we cannot score against a replacement keeper playing out of position, Hill. FFS keep up. There is even a reporter at the stadium!
-
CP back to 11 men.
-
Palarse down to 10 men while the keeper is stitched up. Clint Hill (defender) in goal temporarily.

Coyr!
