If the outcome of the meeting is exactly as stated then Lowe will reap the wrath of the fans, even if this is as simple as not buying anymore ST's or matchday tickets. Many people now are just no longer interested in supporting the club under its present structure - they would rather see the club go into administration and take its chances than see Lowe, Wilde and JP in place. However, the article does quote Lowe as giving JP the kiss of death with those time honoured words - "as I'm sat here he has my full support". OK, so how long before you stand up to be counted Lowe?
-
In relation to both 'big' ideas posted on this thread, I believe BOTH need to be implemented. If publicised in the correct way (i.e. remove the negative - go with the positive 'save our Saints' position), these ideas will provide a huge amount of attention. Both ideas would need the involvement of the Police, particularly the protest march I would suggest. SaintRobbie - I think the club will be dead before a buyer is found. And anyway its less likely anyone will buy the club if we do not show how passionate the supporter base is...just standing by watching the death throes of the club while Lowe and/or Wilde fail to act is not the answer. You need to hit them where it hurts most and unfortunately that means taking away the PLC's biggest asset - it's customer support. Until that happens, Lowe will maintain a vice-like grip on the club and continue with his wacky ideas. I would attend both initiatives and I am sure many, many others would too. The time has come - let's pool our passion for the club and do something constructive.
-
Good letter - will do nothing of substance though. Wilde clearly is as dynamic as a brick and will take no action as he's probably been told by Rupert that there will be no dissenters and 'terrorists' will be shot! This is the hand he has dealt us - league one football unless by some miracle Lowe is strong enough to get shot of JP and obtain a decent manager....perhaps Dowie. Dunno about you, but I am not holding my breath.
-
Well I hate to say told you so, but I've been saying for months that JP is completely out of his depth. It was clear so long ago with the interviews AND the manner in which he had no plan B - i.e. for a long time he has seemed totally inept at making effective subs and we never seem to have a game plan that allows us to dominate. The guy does not deserve to be here still - many Chairmen would have sacked him before Christmas. But I fear Lowe will not admit failure - he will cite stability as the excuse for keeping faith with JP. We will be relegated it would appear - almost as certain as Lowe being here next season to rule over our further demise.
-
At the moment, despite the fact I love my seat position, I am almost certainly NOT going to renew. There is NOTHING left to support. The club has died. The team is in chaos tactically. I have nothing but contempt for the Chairman who has made SO MANY strategic mistakes it beggars belief. There is NOTHING left to support...no hope of a home win...what enjoyment is there? None...it's over.

If we go 2 down I think there will be lots of booing and people walking out early. THAT will pee me off more than losing frankly as I sit on the end of a row and I f-ing hate the ****s that block my view while they slowly walk down the steps. I pay to watch the WHOLE freaking game and stay to support the team WHATEVER the score! Aaaarrgghhh!

The Beautiful Game is now firmly in the land of the fairies
Saint Fan CaM replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
Forget football for one second - this amount of money for a single individuals services, however good he is, is absolutely f-ing obscene. A fraction of that amount of money could significantly put a dent in the poverty, malnutrition and desease of hundreds of people on the brink of survival around the World, let alone save a large proportion of league clubs in the UK from administration. I believe it is time that the FA levy a tax on ANY club in the Prem down when a transfer fee exceeds a certain amount....say £1m - the tax should then be paid as a dividend to all clubs BELOW THAT DIVISION that demonstrate the best professional traits in the game - i.e. least fouls, sending offs, etc. This would have the double whammy effect of decreasing transfer fees AND cleaning up the modern game and encouraging highly entertaining football for spectators. Rant over. -
I am going to be mighty disappointed if this particular bleedin' rumour is a wind-up. We need another decent striker so McGoaldrought can be put back in the reserves to practice what he's paid to do. At least that way he might get a bit more hungry for a game. I suspect Saga will be costing too much money for Lowe's liking.

players not as fit as bournemouth players?
Saint Fan CaM replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
Yes, you're absolutely right. These people are paid to ensure the players at the Manager's disposal are in top condition - mentally, physically, tactically. Many commentators say that we have a very good squad of young potential stars. Well the evidence for all to see is that they are seriously underperforming on all three of the above counts. The coaches (including JP) are to blame and frankly should be sacked for such poor performance. -
Mills, playing for Doncaster, in "come and get me" plea shocker...lol

players not as fit as bournemouth players?
Saint Fan CaM replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
Yes, the shocking truth is that with all the shiny training facilities, our players are not as fit as they should or could be. Why? Possibly because they don't need to move much to practice "pass the ball" - who knows - but whatever, its still an insult to supporters that pay their wages and expect them to keep fit to win games. I must admit to wondering on more than one occasion why our youthful team thats supposed to have loads of pace, often looks like they've just woken up after a night on the tiles and certainly can't run past a defender 8+ years their senior. -
David McGoldrick - one of the top 50 rising stars?
Saint Fan CaM replied to SaintDonkey's topic in The Saints
Sorry, but to compare DMcG with MLT is somewhat laughable and to be fair makes your comment - well, appear as if you have no grasp whatsoever. MLT had basic skill - it was in the very core and fabric of his being. He didn't need to try too hard - he scored for fun against Premiership opposition. What did DMcG manage to achieve against Man U? Nothing of note ATALL - no threat and certainly no goals. LOL. As someone else pointed out, he has had umpteen opportunities to be the best striker in the league apparently...but where do we find ourselves??? Anyone who considers DMcG as having the potential to save us from relegation through his scoring ability is as deluded as our Director of Football (Lowe) and his puppet JP. That said, its up to him to prove me wrong and I do hope he comes good. If not however, I might not be propping up his salary next season, as I've had a gutfull of the under-ambition and under-achievement the club has dished up for too long now. -

Coffer over monitor moment there... McGoaldrought is destined for heights no greater than lower CCC if he's lucky and that's just about where we'll stay if we have to rely on his goal scoring (ahem...and other!?!) abilities IMO. -
Any change in the starting line-up from last week (other than to play proper 4-4-2 with Saga up front with BWP or Lallana) will see us lose IMO. But hey ho, I'll be there waiting for the 2nd home win. I think it has draw written all over it.
-
Completely agree - but just you watch - the team will be tinkered with and more than likely we will lose.
-
I agree that there was a difference to the team and that yes, it made a difference. Even to the point of putting pressure on McGoaldrought to do some work by bringing in Saga. However, the big problem is that I believe JP will be changing the team YET AGAIN next week. He said so in his post match interview on Radio Hants. Example: Lallana will come back from injury and be put straight back into the team regardless of the effect on other positions. This is one reason why the results are so poor IMO and JP needs to keep a team thats working consistent.
-
Heard the interview and immediately thought how good he sounded - like he had SFC written through the middle of him already - and THAT's what you want of a defender particularly. Killer and Claus had that quality in spades - lets hope he is as successful for us. Super super super Size, Super Size...na...
-
McG and Paterson are useless twerps...one for a stupid illegal challenge and the other for raising his arm in the penalty area - a sure-fire way of giving the ref an excuse to award a handball and penalty. Couple those two totally unprofessional acts with a complete lack of any form of striking ability and frankly 50% of the blame for a poor performance lies with these two. The other 50% lies with our completely inept coach - no idea what kind of tactics they coach them in, but it ain't working. That must have been the easiest game of football ManU have ever played - they looked very comfortable, however to their credit some of our lads ran their socks off for the team - Surman in particular looked good. We desperately need (a) a new striker, (b) a new manager who knows how to win in this league and © to start playing 4-4-2 at home. McGoaldrought has no chance on his own up front. Otherwise we are well and truly fooked with a long L1 life (or worse) ahead.

Fantastic post Mike - nail hit firmly and squarely on the head. The shareholders should put their hands into their pockets to save a failing business. The fact that Lowe is in control is because he has been put there by the shareholders - if they do not agree with his policies then get him out. Ah, but there's the nub of the problem - the PLC status once again ensures the business WILL fail under Lowes watch - as sure as day becomes night.
-
It would take a very brave man to bet on us not being relegated this season. I think Lowe started shaping the club for L1 some months ago. Its a disgrace and come the end of the season I will withdraw my support completely - its the only way left to effect change.
-
Frankly the writing was on the wall - JP saying "he wants to stay and we want him" rather than "he's staying" meant he was going. Lowe takes the blame for not doing enough to convince Chelsea his future was better secured here. For goodness sake, what can Watford offer that we can't? I tell you what - a winning mentality - something we've lost while Lowe and JP tinker with outdated ideas.

You have a simple and narrow-minded view IMO. If what you say is true, then 30k Leeds fans have been watching what exactly for the last 2-3 years? And PLEASE for once, try to stretch your mind to accept that its OK to hate Lowes policies and their deployment without disliking the man himself! I repeat - I do not know Lowe so cannot comment on him as a person, but I do know I hate his philosophies and actions, which have largely single-handedly ruined this club. -
Has suffered from two slipped discs in his back and had surgery. He'll be using the physio's facilities more than playing for us I might imagine. However, if he manages to keep fully fit, he looks like he's a good player with a shot and someone not adverse to putting the boot in where it hurts.

The whole article is loaded with contradictions. It offers no answers. It is just one guy with an opinion...he might as well post on here. The Trust is a useless, toothless little plaything for a few people to try to elevate themselves to some form of minor celeb status. It has achieved little on all counts. The concept of anyone giving these guys shares is pretty ludicrous, but still they bleat on about fan power. How about the current shareholders reaching into their pockets to save the company THEY own? Isn't that the way its supposed to work? Of course this will NEVER happen in this PLC structure. Unfortunately, Lowe and Wilde will not sell. That means the only way of ridding the club of these yesterday men is administration. Sad, but ultimately true. -
New Year Messages for Michael Wilde here please
Saint Fan CaM replied to Big Ron fan's topic in The Saints
Dear Mike, You must hate this club to be able to act in the manner you have - going onside with Rupert just to get one back on Leon. You deserve little more than an extremely poor 2009 and I do hope you receive just that. Please find the common decency to sell your shares as soon as possible and leave us - we will be so much better without you. Yours...one of your customers.
