  1. Mmm, I am torn between... (a) Allowing Strachan to leave the club...or... (b) Forming SLH PLC to govern the life of Southampton Football Club.
  2. Just boycott the early ST renewal. That alone should send a huge shocking message to the banks, the shareholders, the Board of the PLC. But you can still buy a ST or indeed match tickets later on.
  3. Cannot be any worse than McGoaldrought FFS. Give the boy a 5 year contract and tell him he will spearhead Saints promotion push to L1 in 2011.
  4. Guys - take a little look over your shoulder towards the last 10 games. Then tell me how you do not realise that... (a) we're not down already and (b) what possibly gives you any form of hope that we will actually win a game again this season? The writing was on the wall when Rupert appointed the deadly Dutch duo. It was etched into the wall the day Rupert appointed Wotte to take over from JP. We may not have wanted to recognise it at the time, but we were relegated from kick-off in the 1st game of the season. Thanks Rupert.
  5. You're not an investment banker by any chance are you? I think that idea is how a lot of pensions managed to get trashed. :smt115:(
  6. Its become a depressing reality. And there's no light at the end of the tunnel. We all mocked Derby's plight in their last Prem season and lo and behold we're heading for a similar fate (but one division down). Like others have said, there seems little hope of winning another game this season - the morale in the squad must be rock bottom. Even if Wotte went now, it would be too little too late - we're down and buried. I just hope that Lowe and Wilde lose everything, because I've lost my football club.
  7. KILL THE PLC and watch Lowe, Wilde, Wotte et al fade away. Job done. Oh yeah, count me in.
  8. I think 13K is over-cooking the diehards Robbie - more like 10-11k. But you're right - Lowe is going nowhere unless he is forced out. ST holders can attempt do this by not renewing early.
  9. Exactly - its a results orientated business is football right? Doesn't matter how you dress it up, there are two things that are keeping this club down and will continue to drive it further down...(a) lack of investment due to PLC status and... (b) Lowe's continued poor managerial choices. Results are not likely to change without sorting these things out. DO NOT RENEW ST's = LOSS OF PLC = RETURNING FANS = BETTER FINANCES = BETTER MANAGEMENT/PLAYERS = RENEWED HOPE = UNITED CLUB = SUCCESS etc etc. (apologies for my continued campaign message!)
  10. Far too sensible for some on here it seems WG.
  11. Now THAT's funny! :smt082
  12. The concept of the council buying SMS so it's owned by the City is a fine one, but not until PLC status has gone...i.e. post administration.
  13. This guy needs to go - simple. I cannot believe there is not a decent Manager out there that can get more out of the squad through better coaching and tactical nouse.
  14. I understand what you are saying, however its not as easy as that - with a fragmented shareholding the present incumbents do not HAVE to sell! This means that even the most ardent buyer will have a problem trying to buy - unless you're Paul Allen and make a hostile bid (but that isn't going to happen to a bottom of the CCC team).
  15. Not if the new owner(s) get the Stadium at a preferential cost that factors in those repayments. Let's face it, the value of the Stadium in its own right must be close to rock bottom at the moment, so I cannot see a decent offer being turned down in the event of the SLH going into admin.
  16. The problem is Nick we need investment to move on and this will not happen while PLC status exists. We need to deconstruct PLC status and then when 'a party' comes in to buy the club (assuming its not Lowe or Wilde), we as supporters can unite again under the new leadership and flood back through the gates. THAT's what we should be hoping for and THAT's the commitment as supporters we should be declaring publicly. IMHO of course.
  17. I concur with this. There is no reason to fear administration - change can be very good if managed properly. This is not the club I supported as a boy - I want to see it return - but that will not happen with Lowe/Wilde at the helm.
  18. Look - for all of you that want a better future, please realise that it will not come unless SLH PLC is deconstructed. That means administration. To obtain administration does not mean giving up supporting the team - quite the opposite actually, as it will bring new life to the club. In fact, it probably does not mean staying away permanently - it just means delaying buying an ST until later. When I bought my ST last year it was with a little hope that Pearson would be able to carry on his work of rebuilding the team and the club as a whole. We still had the likes of Rasiak, John and Davies. I say again - we had some hope and some direction and it did not matter that Lowe was back. So I bought my ST early, but then of course very soon found out that my faith in the club had been in vain, as with Pearson and all the players that scored the goals gone, I had been royally shafted by Lowe and Wilde. I am not going to be shafted again by these poor examples of failed businessmen. I will not be renewing my ST until AFTER March Madness/Early Bird and if that has not produced some form of change at the club, then I will not renew atall. After all, I am the customer and the customer is ALWAYS KING!
  19. Saints is the only team that I would put money on to go down right now - but I will not because (a) I would never bet against my team and ... (b) all bookies think that way and the odds are rubbish.
  20. Whether you mean to or not, I think you are overstating the risk. There are plenty of examples of clubs entering administration and surviving. I truly believe that there are enough 'concerned individuals' that would buy the club (more than likely as a collective of some sort). A football club is different to the likes of Woolies etc. - the customer base is always going to be there to buy the product if its value is high - i.e. value = some semblance of success and hope that better days are ahead (the stuff we've lost). So sorry, I also truly believe that supporters will come flooding back to support the RIGHT regime - just like they did on the last day of last season against Sheffield Utd. The ONE big reason why this club is on its knees financially (Prem is dim and distant) is the PLC status and the fact that the shareholding is so fragmented no-one in their right minds will invest. Change the PLC status and you have a little hope where there is none now, thanks to Lowe's legacy. Administration is (sadly) the only way forward IMO and I urge all ST holders to withold renewal until July to start the revolution.
  21. Well Davis has done time and time again on the field of play - pity none of the other players read the script. Not that I blame the players actually - I think its all down to **** poor management and coaching.
  22. Wotte did we all expect??? We all knew this guy was no better than his dumb dutch friend JP. We HAD to know that another Lowe appointment was going to be sh1t, because Lowes reputation for picking cra p managers (or sacking/disagreeing with the better ones) precedes him FFS! Listen - there's only one way to end this nonsense - BOYCOTT ST renewal. Let's finally be rid of these clowns... it has gone far enough now.
  23. I started a similar thread recently on this very topic - http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=9584 You have managed to set-out the idea very well, although frankly trying to get groups A + B together is going to be tough and a concerted effort is not in the nature of this fragmented club now. The key to this subject IMO is slightly different to yours of getting Lowe and Wilde out (although that would happen as a result). For example, I would not care that Lowe and Wilde were in power IF the strategies were working...IF the PLC status was going to attract investment. It is these two essential issues that need to be resolved. And the ONLY way they will be resolved now at this late stage is for SLH to enter administration - this will end the PLC and effectively end an era of extremely poor governance (by Lowe and Wilde). It will be risky - there are no guarantees - but once done, it will be exciting once again and a new team will be worthy of support (because they will NEED our support to succeed). The process can be started as you suggest by ST holders not renewing until late June/July. It will take balls of steel from all ST holders to do this and the aftermath will not be pretty, but drastic surgery is now needed - protests, marches, banners etc are not going to change things this time IMO, as Lowe and Co are entrenched. I'm reminded of nature and how natural fires cleanse the ground and allow new green shoots to grow. RISE UP ST HOLDERS! Let's start the real revolution at SFC - let's rid ourselves of the structure that has brought this once great club to its knees. Let's provide the opportunity for new hope to sweep through the club, for if we don't we will surely see the death of the club anyway in the not too distant future.
  24. Sorry mate - can't agree with that. If he's a coach then I would expect him to be more involved with direct instruction - not just shout at players! As I say - its no critique of Killer as a player - just that his coaching contribution (whatever that is) is not improving the team. Mind you as an attacking midfielder, I was always taught that I was the first line of defence - not so sure some of our players get this.
  25. Its not all doom and gloom at Ashton Gate according to Will Cope on Radio H. Well f&ck me - I am so glad about that - everything is actually very rosey...we're going to storm this one. Oh.
