  1. If that's true then a big mistake has been made IMO. Schnerderlin does not appear to me to be anything other than a defensive central midfielder and certainly should not be playing left wing FFS!

  3. I don't think Schneiderlin is correct guy for the right flank - he got pulled into the middle far too often and is more comfortable playing a holding role at CM IMO. I would keep the team the same, but give Smith a chance on the right or possibly start with BWP.
  4. Totally agree Hypo - a really good example of 12th man / team spirit going on. Even heard someone on radio talk about 'Fortress St. Mary's' - early days perhaps, but just maybe the corner has been turned at last and a bit of that lost spirit of Southampton is starting to return.
  5. I wonder if he was brought in as a consultant to find out what the f*ck was going on in training? It goes to show just how massively JP was out of his depth. Despite him supposedly being a nice guy, it would appear he was not particularly competent.
  6. Agreed again - I really like Size - he is in the same mould as Killer and Claus IMO...perhaps even better as his work rate is superb. I think Perry really works well with him also. I've always rated Skacel TBF and I think he's clicked with Surman on the left now. James is really looking to be a proper RB now and every game looks a little more composed, although I fear he is too slow to make a step-up to Prem level perhaps.
  7. Got to say it was absolutely a world-class save - he had no right getting to it, but he did and it could prove to be the save that save's our season. I was in Kingsland and there were loads of us that gave KD a well deserved standing ovation for two incredible displays of world-class goalkeeping. We are very lucky to have that guy with us still.
  8. There have been many on here calling for Euell to be put in attack (and an equal number perhaps saying how crap Euell is). However, Wotte has managed to get some essential things right so far... 1. He's found a winning formula - Euell and Saga in attack. 2. McGoldrick actually looks good as a playmaker type attacking CM - in fact far better than a striker, although he needs to work on his fitness a bit more. 3. He has kept the winning side consistent - no tinkering for tinkerings sake. Credit where its due - he has it seems helped the lads turn a corner. I was especially pleased to see him come out on the pitch and keep the lads back for a huddle and to congratulate the fans.
  9. Great job finding out what most have us have been shouting for months - play Euell up front with Saga. Yes, he's won us two games - let's hope for more, but he's not the Messiah just yet.
  10. I think the primary reason for the upturn is that the players AND the coaches are now responding to a system of play and a general coaching set-up that actually makes some f-ing sense. Killer is clearly a part in that improvement.
  11. I agree - the support today was really good. I think we needed jogging into voice a couple of times as I think we couldn't believe a 2nd good performance. When Cardiff looked like getting into the game and applying a lot of pressure, there was a concerted round of "red and white army" with clapping from most of the ground and I am positive that lifted the players as we then started to turn the tables again.
  12. I fear this will go down as Lowe's worst managerial decision ever. Yes SOG he has gone - and we continue to live with the consequences...
  13. I do not believe Stanley is entirely wrong in his premise, just not entirely effective in communicating perhaps? There is no clear evidence either way whether administration would see the club die completely, although there is reasonable evidence to suggest there could be hope for survival and a better future. Especially if supporters rallied around per Sheffield Utd game last season. The one thing that is absolutely certain in my mind is that we will not gain new investment through a sale of the club all the while the corporate structure is one of a PLC. The major shareholders will not invest - why should they, when there's little chance of a return on their money and even pro-rata I doubt ALL the other 1,000's of shareholders would put money too? So, the only good thing about administration is that it would offer the opportunity for the club to rid itself of the PLC straight-jacket and potentially attract new investment. That investment might happen - it might not - and high risk is clearly involved. Even if Lowe somehow manages to raise the cash to buy the club and has the dogged determination to hold on post admin, the end of the PLC would help us move on IMO. However I cannot believe there will not be other suitors.
  14. Yes, I found the similarities alarming too...so many in fact that I would suggest its an unbridled PR exercise. I am sure the MODs can determine the veracity of the poster?
  15. I have a initial healthy scepticism of these types of organisation to be honest. They tend to be overly political in nature and highly unfocused in strategy. They seem to serve best the people that form them, rather than their 'membership'. If the Trust had a simple, focused agenda that they followed through to the end with strong broad-view leadership, it might have succeeded in recruiting more to its ranks rather then alienating its founding membership. What did happen was that once Lowe had been ousted Wilde cuddled them and the whole meaning of the Trust went limp and soft. Its now a busted flush and I can see no reason for throwing 'good money after bad'. New direction is needed - if there was a fans group with the sole aim of finding a buyer and getting the club delisted...now that might be something to rally behind?
  16. Well, if it was left to the current Board of Directors he would not be offered a dry bread roll!
  17. Hello Mr Wilde - Saints fan here. Take your PR idea and stick it where the sun don't shine. When you start doing something positive about the 1st team results (because THAT's all that matters to most supporters) or perhaps invest some money into the club, then you'll find that all those nasty discontented supporters will stop taking a pop at you. Better still, sell the club and f*ck off forever. Bye.
  18. I would suspect a 1-1 draw, but we so much need a win. MUST start with the same team and Saga/Euell in a 4-4-2 or 4-1-2-1-2 formation depending on Cardiffs wing play. Wotte has found a winning formula from a desperately lacking squad - if he changes it, he really does not deserve any further support IMO. If the lads can cut open their defence early we will have a chance.
  19. This has to be a wind-up surely?! I have a simple message to Wilde:- Run the club well so that we win games at home and avoid relegation. Ensure whoever is in the 'managers' position does a good job with the players. Attempt to get investment into the club, preferably by selling it so that you and Lowe can leave forever. Forget all other loony ideas until we're back in the Prem, because it's a big waste of time. IMHO.
  20. Great news - good luck Ron with the rest of your recovery. Please come over and visit SMS some time soon - it would be a massive boost for all fans and you would be treated as royalty I am sure.
  21. Stupid waste of life - sad yes - but if you play with fire expect to get burnt.
  22. I think Offix has summarised the position well. Also, as someone who goes to games on his lonesome, this place for the better part gives me an opportunity to discuss the club and its football. The only small gripe I might have is the little 'clicks' that seem to persist on here - you can find yourself basically ignored, usually by certain posters having more to say about each other than the football. I have tried to cut-back a bit on my visits here to not much avail recently just to claw-back a bit of time, but still enjoy the banter f'sure.
  23. Strangest feeling eh? You can get ointment for that.
  24. Too many chefs spoil the broth...especially when the present incumbants have served up a dogs dinner of a season. The Trust is a useless bunch of individuals who finally manage to put together a half-baked plan to 'save the club' - oh yes, and promote themselves into some position of importance. I think Crouch is one of the good guys, but the subjects of both of those reports is laughable.
  25. Another bashing from P*mpey?!?! LOWE OUT!!!
