Excellent post Sir. Anyone who has even half a brain should be able to tell the difference between a guy who had a few months in the Chair and hired one of the best English managerial prospects this club has seen since Lawrie and Lowe - a complete joke who managed to relegate the club twice thereby putting it into administration. I think someone must be on a wind-up.

I honestly do not know what your problem is - Leon is just trying to do his bit to ensure we've got a club for next season - asking you was nothing personal. If its any consolation, I put £20 into Mark Dennis' bucket as I left the corporate box area Saturday (although admittedly he didn't ask me). Gotta say that guy was doing a great job to help us keep the club afloat. The £20 was money I had received from selling my ST because my wife and I were invited to a box. Personally I was glad to make a small contribution.

Surely as fee paying customers we can vote with our wallets...no businessman (private or PLC) will ignore this - if they do its at their peril. Fundamentally, I would say you are more likely to get a private owner care more about the needs of the customer base (i.e. that means excitement in an entertainments business like football) than a PLC whose prime function is to serve its shareholders. Also, when it comes to needing more investment, it is far easier to attract a buyer to take the business to the next level, if there is not a massively fragmented shareholding. The evidence of both of these things have unfolded for SLH/SFC over the last ten years - surely you cannot refute THAT?!?

Lallana possibly going for £5m, which is nice.

Did Darren Anderton ever get involved in management? Just a question.

Well what kind of pathetic response is that? So you condone that sort of behaviour do you? I think you've just shown every reader of this forum exactly the type of person you are...pathetic.

I had a grandstand view and it was a significant number of Saints 'fans' who charged towards the Burnley supporters that started the problems. If they had stayed away from the away supporters it would not have kicked off. The guy that was down on the ground had it coming to him as he tried to charge through the police line and was taken down by a policeman. I think the scenes were disgraceful frankly and sickening. But the worst for me was a middle aged woman who ran from the pitch, was allowed to run all the way up the Itchen stand to the barriers just in front the boxes and hit two other women who were in the box next to us. Yes, this woman had a Saints shirt on. She was shouting, swearing and complaining about the people in the boxes not paying for ST's, whereas all the 'proper' fans had paid for their tickets. I am afraid today that womans actions and the rest of the yobs on the pitch, left a very sour taste in my mouth...witnessing THAT was far worse than relegation to league one. Disgusting.

Get a room.

Sorry but I have to state an emphatic "NO" to PLC status. Apart from disparate and fragmented views, this structure encourages fragmented shareholding and therefore disuades investment and/or purchase of the commodity. PLC status has almost killed this club alongside its architects idiotic and poor mismanagement. I truly hope this is not repeated at this football club ever again.

Absolutely gobsmacked at how fantastic this thread is...bit of a lump in me throat actually. I don't know how I'm gonna make it through the game tomorrow without blubbing! (: As Phil says above - THIS is the TRUE SPIRIT OF SOUTHAMPTON. Fantastic....so happy...can't say too much... going to bed with a massive smile.

I don't know why, but my original post on this thread (the 2nd in fact) has been deleted for no apparent reason and with no explanation from the MODS. I'll repeat. Wotte is not good enough to get us out of L1 IMO - need a clean sweep. Need to appoint a manager who has good solid experience and the potential to bring some longevity to the role (i.e. one of Lowe's failures). Pearson is an excellent example of the type of manager we now need.
-
Now there's true colours for you. Bye - don't come back - we don't need your kind of 'support' now. I admit I was not fearful of admin to clear the club of the vermin, but now is the time to REALLY support the club. If you're really a supporter that is - are you?
-
Well I've got an invite to a box so I've sold my ST (cut-price!) and the money will go into one of the buckets not my pocket, plus some more on top.
-
That makes for some good reading Duncan thanks. I did wonder whether this might end up as a possibility. My only hope is that the two groups don't cancel each other out in the negotiations and we end up with neither.

Completely agree with the original post. We have to raise the roof for OUR team on Saturday. Why? 1. Because we support the mighty Saints. 2. Our new owner(s) will almost certainly be there watching... and listening. 3. We need to show the footballing world that we will not be moved - Saints forever. 4. We still need to win the last two games -10 points or not. COME ON YOU SAINTS. ONE TEAM. ONE VOICE.

You've got the basics there covered.

Cannot believe for one minute that anyone with a keen business head would let Lowe near a company where a large proportion of its customers have zero confidence in him or his product. I think Lowe is gone for good - if not then, I am.

Fair play to KD (and Size). I for one would want to see these two guys and Perry back in Saints colours next season - could do a lot worse frankly and the team needs to be built from somewhere. Its all in the hands of Fry and how advanced he is with the potential buyers.
