  1. On last nights display, I would offload Saga pronto. Paterson FAR more up for it - able to run intelligently at a defence and score. Saga did not look atall interested and his workrate was poor. Even Stern was telling him where to man-mark FFS.
  2. Agree with the OP. This may not have been about the result per se, however the performances on show tonight were nothing short of extremely poor.... e.g. Saga looked pretty disinterested, Pulis is a liability. And have we not been told that Wotte et al have courageously kept the club going? Well, on this showing I would hazard a guess that Henderson and Co have done NO tactical training atall in the past!
  3. If I never see Pulis in a Saints shirt again it will be a day too soon - the bloke cannot play football...a complete waste of space. I cannot remember a single positive contribution to the game - utter, utter rubbish. Seriously, he would be hard pushed to find his way into Salisburys squad. Mind you, I think there were about 8 Salisbury players I would gladly swop with their Saints counterparts tonight as they were heads and shoulders better, both in terms of ability and tactical nouse. Saints did not look atall organised - it was embarrising - and I don't care what anyone says, the team should be better drilled than that. Worse performances were : Saga (asleep), Wotton (truly dreadful), Pulis (call that football?), Gobern (wot position am I in?), Poke (it away). The rest were poor. The slightly better performances came from Stern who tried hard, James (just), Perry (lone CB battle), Thompson (tried to get to byline), Paterson (worked hard and had pace), Molyneax (yes, he looked OK in comparison to the other rubbish). AP came along just after half-time and interestingly the team suddenly started to look more lively. Henderson was a waste of space in terms of giving instruction to the team - we need a proper 2nd in command if AP is not around. I am hoping that is nowhere near the quality of football we should expect to see this season - if it is, I would put a lot of money on another relegation. Honestly, I was shocked at how bad it was - disregarding the goals, easily the worst performance I have ever seen from a Saints side.
  4. Have a good holiday neighbour...I'll keep look out for Skate incursions into our territory!
  5. Thats all true. So, given that he is the main man at the Salisbury game this evening, do you think (a) he's being tested and/or (b) he's being set-up for a fall? Surely if he was just a stand-in, he would have retreated back to the shadows now AP is here? Looking at tonights squad I would say there are a few staff being watched carefully perhaps?
  6. Yes - that is a real disappointment frankly - I am toying with whether to go or not now. Promised the Wife a dinner out prior to game, so it's probably a done deal now.
  7. Absolutely spot on the money there Duncan. And how much extra feelgood factor would that have bought the team and the supporters?! Can't dismiss winning - it needs to become a habit.
  8. Done - I will win - fact.
  9. Thanks for that...
  10. Great video - you can never be reminded too much of how much great history this club has seen [ mainly pre-Lowe (; ]. Just goes to show how much pain we've been through - welcome Markus, you cannot begin to imagine how many peoples lifes have been affected so much by your kind gesture to save SFC. Don't mind admitting a tear was shed watching that...fantastic to have a new era of hope and success to watch before I get too old to care.
  11. Great signing for us - just what we need and AP really seems to have sussed the squad pretty quickly. Next!
  12. Based on that I think we still need a decent big CB, a fast RW, a tough CAM and another proven experienced striker (i.e. with 15 goals in him). That's only 4 more players and many could be free per above list. Midfield positions are probably the most important though as without service the strikers will all struggle.
  13. It's been all over Solent news this morning and the FA have stated there's no problems. To think the Skates deal would go t*ts up was pie in the sky stuff - doesn't mean they will not go belly up in the league this year though ala Newcastle.
  14. Never been to Salisbury's ground - do they have a stand with seating or is it more like Eastleighs? Might actually pop up and get a preview of what may happen Saturday. Interesting that Rasiak appears not to be travelling - mind you, nor is Davies. Perhaps this is AP's way of sorting the wheat from the chaff - might see a few released after tonight!? I hope Stern makes the grade though - I think he will and will score tonight to impress the boss (if he gets the service).
  15. Got to agree with Derry's points at least in a general sense. It must be blatantly clear to all that the squad has for some 3-4 seasons been poorly prepared and coaching been at less than sub-optimum. Whether that's due to staff being given jobs they cannot handle is debatable and in Hendersons case there is a case IMO, however that does not detract from the fact that the team have had a losing mentality and have had for some time. I think even back to the Redknapp days he said something like "this club has the quietest changing room I've ever experienced".
  16. Nothing on OS yet, but just announced on Radio Solent news.
  17. Err, don't get this - my two tickets have seat numbers on 'em! And I am NOT moving for nobody! Taking Mrs CaM so watch out. Can't wait to see how AP is shaping the team after a week. Really hope we'll see some new names on the pitch.
  18. Euell may not have scored, but believe me McGoldrick started scoring when he had Euell cutting a path for him in attack. I would have thought his positive contribution to the team in terms of leadership (bearing in mind he was left out in the cold by Jan P) when finally selected was pretty obvious - he was fighting a losing battle to get the team motivated and led by example. No not a scoring machine perhaps, but certainly not the poor player portrayed by some here. I just hope AP is allowed to spend some money getting other mobile experience into the side or the kids are going to get 'run-over' mark my words.
  19. I know what you mean. However, it seemed to me last season that the teams with the basic tactics (those that got simple pass and move triangulation right) were the teams that we struggled against. For the nonsense spouted about attractive football, we failed to produce the basics well. So my hope is that AP will start to drill some that stuff back into the players and they quickly pick up on this. Let's face it, it's stuff we all learn at junior freaking club level!!!
  20. Err, no. GG had a 'friend' who lived in the area - did not live here himself. And he got run out of town anyway!
  21. Excellent updates from Pilchards - thanks. Nice to hear that AP means business and I am not surprised in the slightest to hear that the squad is immature tactically. It was blatantly obvious all through last season and this pre-season that this was an area that the Dutch experiment failed miserably with.
  22. If he is really worth his salt, he will spend the first day watching and listening more than making any huge rash decisions or changes. Remember, he needs to assess the coaching staff as well as the players.
  23. He will live in the Locks Heath/Warsash area - all the top celebs live here. As do I. HTH.
  24. And 35 years old. Good for us tho'.
  25. Rumour on fans forum not true shocker! LOL!
