  1. Apparently they will split up at the end of their tour next week anyway.
  2. Hampshire batting first and currently 95/0.
  3. Yep, there were a few renditions of it in the Arkells stand last night.
  4. THIS season is the important one!!! There seems to be an attitude amongst some Saints fans that we would get rid of the negative points within 4 games and they waltz up the league, finish about halfway up and perhaps flirt with the playoffs. WRONG.. forget about how far we are behind the leaders, or behind the playoffs, we are going to be in a relegation battle this season. There will be no point planning for promotion from League One next season, if we end up in League Two. This league is no cakewalk.

  6. Match confirmed to be played on Tuesday 25th August, which rather annoyingly clashes with Hampshire's day/night game against Gloucs at the Rose Bowl. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1754454,00.html
  7. The side lacks any real pace at the moment, so this looks a sensible signing.
  8. Forecast was an even more pointless signing than Pulis. We already had 3 goalkeepers and then we go out and pay 300k for a goalkeeper when we barely had two pennies to rub together. At least Pulis was just an add on!
  9. It appears that Sky have rescued a couple of them from the shipwreck that is Setanta News, as Charlotte Jackson was on yesterday afternoon and Ali Douglas was on there over the weekend. Does that mean they have had a clear out and got rid of the likes of Millie, Georgie and Natalie?
  10. Looks like we may have beaten Boro to this one - http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/boro-fc/boro-fc-news/2009/08/10/bristol-rovers-striker-rickie-lambert-in-link-to-boro-84229-24361184/
  11. I spoke to a member of staff in the Old Fat Cat last week and apart from midweek cup games, the OFC will be the designated away pub all season.

  13. Quite simply, it's all down to money. The counties want to have more one day cricket particularly at weekends to bring the crowds and money in and everything the ECB does nowadays revolves around money. Personally, I would go for the current LVCC format, extend the current 50 over competition to run throughout the summer and have the final at Lords still but in early September (like it used to be) after the test matches have finished and not slotted into the schedule as an afterthought and continue with the current Twenty20 format. It wouldn't work as that would mean less cricket and therefore, less money. Oh and Hampshire start a LVCC game against Lancashire next Thursday = weekend cricket!
  14. Niemi talks with Pompey confirmed  http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_5459545,00.html
  15. Yep, the County Ground is all seater. The Arkells stand (the side stand) is probably the better stand to get a good atmosphere going anyway as it has low roof and is shared with the home fans.
  16. Only Itchen and Kingsland open tomorrow, with unreserved seating - http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1725602,00.html
  17. Existing STH's have their seats on hold until 5pm on Friday 31st July.
  18. The game wasn't segregated, so there were quite a few Saints fans dotted around. Definitely more than 20 anyway! City were deserved winners and made us look pretty second-rate for most of the game. You could have driven a tractor through our defence in the first half.
