  1. I am afraid there will always be at least one total idiot, moron, dickhead at the final. Yes there are more expletives available. Sadly. We could have lost the game or had it taken from us.
  2. well happily your doom post was totally wrong. IT IS COMING HOME, I really believe at last. After waiting 55 years to gloat.
  3. meaning what exactly
  4. for some to say he wasn't good enough for us is harsh. He may not have been as effective for us as he was but he was still better than average and thye best that we had. Again we bought him when he was a squad player for Chelsea, We have tried to bring in other squad players and failed because there were better options seemingly available.
  5. that says a lot about us I guess
  6. I think it would depend on whether we had a replacement lined up
  7. I always thought that JWP plays better when he has minders alongside him to do the dirty work
  8. if his goalkeeping standard was similar to his defensive then we would need a lot more goals scored by us per game
  9. is it possible for you to have a conversation without using defamatory language aginst others.
  10. Please never ever let me see that Howe has become our manager.
  11. for that to work we would probably need a different manager and style of play so that the 3 sold could be adequately replaced to suit.
  12. on a side note I wish all leavers good luck finding a contract elsewhere
  13. don't see a problem with Pompey taking him on as he wasn't thought good enough for us.
  14. damn and I was gonna put my 5p in
  15. too lightweight for me
  16. this conversation has reached electrifying heights
  17. surely if we are to make a managerial change now would be a much better time to do it. Why wait until we have had a dire start and confidence is rock bottom?
  18. That was well worth the read. Thanks for the time and effort you put in
  19. we have known for ages that Bertrand was going so why on earth have we not done some searching prior to his leaving
  20. I still can't get why he was given a new contract. He was poor before and even worse after.
  21. we have shown over and over again that we are to lightweight. Attack average, midfield at time easily over run, defence piss poor, goalie desperately needed. We make some nice attacking moves but fail more often than not to finish with a goal. The midfield is not good enough. JWP needs some muscle to help him but we are without suitable Too often we are caught wide open because we fail miserably to work as a unit but rather as many separate parts. There are one or two bonuses this season. Salisu looks like a good prospect and may well end up as our left cb. JWP is exciting going forward but this leaves us wide open to counter attack when nobody covers for him. Our goalkeepers do not fill us with a feeling other than that of impending despair' Tella may develop but we need a striker that can find the back of the net. Che is a willing worker and is clearly our 2nd best after Ings but if Ings goes as I fear he will we will struggle next season without a decent replacement. I expect Vestergard to leave along with Bertrand and Ings, Bertrand this season has looked a spent disinterested force. Even Ings at times looked like he was working on his own. helping in defence and attack sometimes out wide. There is hope if we sell those we expect to and replace them well. we cannot play with such a poor squad again. we need more players prepared to grow with us and fight for a first team place. we will see some loanies return and with luck move on giving us room to manouevre. sadly I fear some long term players will stay at our expense. Selfish personal greed by some players that are holding our club back. As much as I appreciate the efforts by Ralph now may be time for him to go. His style of play has not made us stronger than we were last season. His recruits have made little difference apart from maybe Salisu. Diallo strikes me as a good player but too lightweight. Why we have kept Walcott is beyond me. I think i could go on but at the moment I really fear for our club future.
  22. perhaps Sheff Utd could let us have their keeper on the cheap
  23. I don't know how most of you began drinking, gambling, smoking etcetera but but I would hazard a guess that it was when younger and going out with your mates. I know my first bet was in 1962 whilst serving in our armed services. It was after a few drinks in a pub that didn't ask my age. My son followed my example last year after starting work at Richard Hannon's racing stables as groom rider. He smokes drinks and gambles but also, like I was, is far more interested in the fit young fillies of his age working beside him. Trust me I know some of them and they are fit. Maybe many of these addicts don't have such stimuli to take their attention away from the other vices but I personally knew one Irish chef I worked with and he would disappear for days at a time due to his need for alcohol. His addiction was not made worse through adverts. How many of us look forward to a drink before a game, and afterwards at times? Not because we have seen an advert but more because we can meet up with fellow Saints fans. For me Mary Whitehouse springs to mind with the gnashing of teeth and hair pulling caused by a simple advert.
  24. I feel he is worth his place in the side because of his all out style of play. Always trying and is very good at keeping the ball and making chances for others. Think he will find his shooting boots as he grows more confident.
  25. Because we are the Saints
