  1. But after Charlie spouting off like he did last month over disallowed goal the old gits probably felt he should be shown they can get even
  2. I accept that.
  3. We have known for years that there is no such thing as a level playing field. From Fergie time to big club v little club bias it has always been there.
  4. Steve Davis knew his shortcomings but more importantly knew his best talents and used them to the full. Hard working as a player and a true leader on and off the park. He scored some important goals for us and always gave 100% leading by example. I hope you enjoy your return home to Rangers and finish your career with a flourish. Thank you for your time here Steve.
  5. Words sound good so all he has to do is show it on the pitch.
  6. I see both Fulham and Cardiff won today
  7. As this is supposedly a team game then there should have been someone cvovering for him. He takes excellent corners and it doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out the need to cover his empty position.
  8. Well we lost and deservedly so. I saw a tired looking team out muscled by a stronger, quicker outfit. Not really a surprise as the team is adjusting to a much tougher training regime, and new style of play. I believe Ralph is learning how poor his choices are and fully expect to see players leave in transfer window. I also hope that he is allowed to bring in some players from the Bundesliga that knows will improve our team. I would release Forster from his contract so he can get one with a half decent wage made up with a decent signing on fee. Gabbiadini should be allowed to go to make space. Long has to go. Davis has to go. JWP should also move on as he is only going to be a bit part player. Austin has to go as he is not mobile enough. Hoedt I am afraid scares the pants of me and I just don't know whether he will ever make it as a reliable cb. We need to give Ralph time to sort out our team. He has shown he can do it previously so in him we must trust. I am disappointed by last night but above all I am now and always will be a Saints supporter. From Div 3 south I have witnessed the highs and lows and believe we will soon be able to enjoy our football more regularly.
  9. Plus the way we fought after letting in their goal was something that has been missed for a long, long time
  10. No but the style of play and togetherness that our players are now showing is a distinct improvement on the dross we had become used to.
  11. Reminds me so much of the Poch beginnings and I pray we can keep Ralph for longer.
  12. Nice goal from Nathan today
  13. How about Ralph bringing in a couple of his old players from Germany
  14. I hope that LiverSaints can do it this time around. VVD is in my mind the best buy of all that came from us. My only regret is that he seemed to down tools before leaving us.
  15. I very much doubt that if he had GS would have been as bad as the last three managers and might still be here. Apart from the fact that he was already in the England set-up with the younger players many of whom are now with him in the full squad.
  16. as cb's go Jan is still young and learning. I have hope that he could do well for us for a few years.
  17. As RH has been managing in Germany for a few years surely he must have an idea of a few possible recruits from the Bundesliga. Sell whoever we can and import a couple that Ralph knows from there.
  18. Great that he has gone and I don't see him trying it on with Gareth. Southgate would eat him for breakfast
  19. Yes the London clubs' fans used to work together at times for a bout at a perceived enemies ground. I lived most of the 70's and 80's on the Isle of Dogs and drove busses. Many a Saturday we would have to cut our journeys short if heading near to a football stadium.
  20. How you can say that baffles me. The violence of the 70's and 80's reached never before scenes of thuggish behaviour. The mods v rockers of the 60's was nothing in comparison. The main difference now is that fans in the main have easier access to media outlets.
  21. Ryan in my view was simply saying how great it was to see us pressing and attacking. Not pussyfooting around at the back in a safety first style of play. The difference between today's performance and the last couple of seasons was immense. They had permission to attack and at speed. Play high speed aggressive football as against the slow negative crap of recent times. Yes it may have been a slight dig at our recent managers but only in that the pleasure of the team being urged to attack attack attack, and removal of the restraints the team had were seemingly gone.
  22. Obefemi needs game time to adjust to the pace of the Premier League. With the misfiring forwards that are being used he deserves another game or two. Not that we have anyone clearly better is it?
  23. We have just seen our once proud club sliding ever deeper into the mire because of sheer incompetence. Serious failings in the leadership caused through arrogance or simply blind stupidity. Last season we saw what nearly happened through the dithering at the top and you want us to calmly watch and let them try harder to sink our ship this time round?
  24. I have watched Saints since 1952 and am very close to giving up on this concoction of extremely low quality footballers and staff. When we were in Div 3 South we did at least have players that tried. I remember the cloggers that we possessed in our early League 1 days and we loved how they fought to survive. In Hughes we have a manager that seems bereft of any alternative playing style or even what his best team is at the moment. The team appears rudderless with no obvious leaders. RK is totally out of his depth and Reed screwed us badly with his removal of quality staff which he replaced with dross. When Lowe oversaw our previous demise we mounted a campaign against him,but right now I see nothing but sad fans with no spirit left to fight for our club and make our feelings known to all and sundry. Now to make it worse we have an owner that has no idea what is going on in his name or how to stop the rot. Markus will be turning over in his grave if he could see what his daughter has done to this club. Destroying all the good that her father has done whilst making a seriously nice profit financially.
  25. That is the Southampton way
