Ralph has done reasonably well for us up to now. However his time here is running out surely.
-
Be grateful hat he did because if we sell him we can push for a better price. As long as he can start playing on a regular basis
-
I thought Reading refused to sell Antonio to us.
-
It is possible that our team is over trained which will show at the end of the games. Or even under trained but if that they would be too lethargic from the start. I am concerned now as THIS IS HAPPENING GAME AFTER GAME AND APPARENTLY THEY CAN'T FIND A SOLUTIOPN.

Sadly that was not an unexpected way to finish a game. Yes the players were to blame for that terrible defending of their goal. However I also put it on Ralph as he decides how we are to play. Why with our poor record did we try to defend our leading position. If true that McCarthy was carrying an injury why the hell did he carry on?

Only problem I have with that is the failed sponsorship deal he had with us

Saints to finally score 3 and keep a clean sheet

So Stephen Gerrard is the new Villa Head Coach. Is it a good move for him?

😅😅

Lorrd D sometimes I wonder whether you are a skate. Very rarely do you seem to have thoughts similar to the majority of us Saints fans.

The sad fact as I see it is that last tail end we did not have the players that we now have. Our bench was terribly weak and that is why I believe Ralph struggled as severely as he did when making substitutions. Now having replaced seriously poor players with more quality we are able to react positively with our subs. Salisu is far better than any of last season's defenders. Tino is also a massive improvement and KWP is still one of our best players. For anybody to say that the improvement in quality has less to do with Ralph's improving substitutions needs to wake up. Not having competition for places leaves players feeling safe in the knowledge that they will be playing week on week as long as they are fit.

😇 Great post. Very good read. Thanks.

Perhaps it is for mediocre/poor clubs to splurge good money on chancers

Guess there is at least 3 of us 75yo's. my first game was 1952 at home div 3 south I thank against Rotherham. May have wrong team but we lost. I had every programme from home matches until I joined army in 1962 as boy squat. Worst thing my dad ever did was throw away all my brochures and the Tiger comics which were also complete. even sold my bike .

true but 20 minutes is hardly enough to check them out as being a workable trio. We have all seen players perform diabolically for a small period of time or appear fantastic only to disappoint.
-
I tend to agree with you about Diallo. He has shown glimpses but appears light weight as did JWP, until Ralph showed him the need to strengthen up. I would be interested to see how the three work together as well.
-
It makes me smile when Sydenham, Paine and big Ron Davies are quoted as examples. Guess George O'Brien (Spelling?)Is forgotten. Before and after those that were mentioned we have up until recent times been known as a team with flair. A team that could score heavily and also concede in same manner. Our alehouse brawlers still had attacking skills up front although the talk was usually about our hardman image from the defence. My memory is fading but search hard enough and images can still be found of days gone past.

Verbal in case you or others are interested, I did not bother checking so I ask just for the interest. Why not show all.
-
I wonder why when you choose to use evidence from the stats that you clearly seem to have missed out goals scored by both of them. Perhapsit is just me but that does seem to be missed becauseit does not work for your argument.
-
Well perhaps we should try playing the three of them together. Broja in centre, Adams left, Armstrong on right.Adeams and Armstrong can always switch positions as they seem able to manage. I agree we need to play our best two players every game. But we also know that with games coming so quickly players may need a rest at times. Especially if we get a good cup run going.
-
Sad as it will when he moves on, I will be proud that our club helped him on his progression. So hopefully we will keep him for a couple of seasons at least before he moves on to a bigger club. I was trying to decide where he would likely go. Considering how quickly he has progressed I can only see a top 4 club being able to pay our asking price. I actually believe he will fetch a VVD type of price.

Since when is it that playing Liverpool a run of the mill game?
-
The question should no6t be how it will cost to sack Ralph, but how much will it cost if we don't. Like a few on here we are hoping that there is three worse teams who finish below us.
-
Hey, if journos want to build him up we could get more for him. Let the chatter keep flowing.

We played like we were more hungry and with more intent. Nice game to watch and I hope we can play similarly at Burnley
