  1. cheers tony -makes things a little easier. suggests nothing will be resolved tonight given the old farts and polyester tie brigade at the FL are probably eager for their weekends - notwithstanding a club's security and supporters peace of mind are at stake.
  2. Absolutely!- and a good chant versatile for all occasions -plastics etc
  3. November 24 = wheat from the chaff
  4. you, genius who pulls the strings, pity that you didnt then muster full houses after we went into admin and lowe had departed. you, oh wise one, may then have ensured we won our remaining games and started next season on parity...or didnt the less than impressive attendances after charlton simply demonstrate that there are 101 reasons why people havent been turning up to games and 101 reasons why we went into admin. yours humbly.
  5. moron, you probably couldnt count the stay aways on your six fingers. The man u turnout spoke volumes to the number (or lack) of people who boycotted out of principle. That's quite apart from the effect of poor attendances on morale.
  6. Give MLT the benefit of the doubt. To date, he's resisted management -despite calls to the contrary- because he's modest/wise/sceptical enough (mistakenly interpreted by some as a lack of ambition) to realise that good footballers dont make good managers. By the same token, I dont think he would hastilly throw himself into supporting a business plan without good reason.
  7. Spot-on and his status only increases with time.
  8. good news- a bit of spring-cleaning, airing out the rooms before the new occupants move in.
  9. Can't read too much from yesterday's game- histories between the two teams, partisan crowd. Half the challenges were badly timed and were either blown up for or should have been fouls. Teams do mix it (think the standard of the league 2 playoffs has been excellent - shrewsbury like to pass it). It seems that pace is the greatest attribute you can have in League 1.
  10. Stern might possibly have got us out of the mire last season given the number of chances that went begging this season. Would have been particularly useful after Wotte came in and decided to go longer with Euell as target man. Would have provided less energy and running than Euell but would have held the ball up and finished many of gilt edge chances that Euell missed.
  11. Well, at least, the Marc Jackson bid isnt a complete waste of time...Does Green have the financial muscle?
  12. That's the talk among the Leicester fans. Gillett has rarely been mentioned in the transfer speculation but, injuries apart, he's possibly had a better season than many of our higher profile youngsters. Central midfield is a real weak spot,so his departure would be a big loss.
  13. So the UK name has been mentioned on here, has the overseas group?
  14. Relax! No need to wet yourself and get your knickers in a twist. Its agonising for everyone that our future is in limbo and we can't enjoy the usual summer fanfare of speculating and planning for next season. But just because its a slow news day or week or month- and us rank and file supporters are always the last to hear anything, doesnt mean we need to start writing pointless obituaries. Lets wait and see and be cautiously optimistic.
  15. What was the best goal scored by a Saints player? Adam Lallana vs QPR The best game you saw? Preston 3-2 Funniest chant heard? Blackpool away "You've got brett omerod"
  16. Seen the story once on SSN in the last two+ hours - the way they play the news in an endless loop - tonight's mk dons-northampton match has already been covered 3 or 4 times with in-depth interviews, I think there is very little in the story and SSN knows it.
  17. ********- every team wants to beat leeds because they are arrogant c**ts; for scalps like us, teams will park the proverbial team on the six yard box and look to nick a 1-0 on the break.
  18. In what way? If those on the database with X amount of away games were given a chance to buy tickets, say, from tomorrow, that would mean new demand, in addition to ST holders. At the moment, demand is being restricted, slowing the sell of tickets.
  19. I have no problem with St holders getting first bite of the cherry but the idea that members are next in line -and membership simply entails paying a few quid and no extra commitment is pretty dubious. Of course, many members end up going to all matches -and fair play to them (as they pay full face value for a ticket, they probably put more into the club than ST holders), but the current allocation makes no such distinction. In the past, the club has always tied allocations to aways games attended, so it obvously accepts the argument, so why change things now, esp as no delay would have been caused. All has nothing to do with who's the better fan -everybody supports the club in his own way and it doesnt stop people feeling the same emotions between, during and after matches- but allocation is scarce and priorities have to be made.
  20. Ridiculous that regular away fans arent being rewarded - can't see how it would delay things given there's already a 12 day window between tickets going on sale to ST holders and general sale. Giving them precedence over members and allowing them to purchase tickets on the 16th would, if anything, speed things up - doubtless there must be a few people who are neither members or ST holders.
  21. who's who is here http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/AboutUs/WhosWho/0,,10794,00.html group of eight- one of the members, neil doncaster's bio is here: Neil Doncaster joined Norwich City in 1997 as Company Secretary and Solicitor before being promoted to his current position as Chief Executive in 2001. He sits on the Club's main Board, where he leads the drive to position the Club at the very heart of the community as a consultative, accessible family club. He is a director of the Football Association, the Football League and FL Interactive and is a member of the Football Association's Professional Game Board, Football Regulatory Authority and Judicial Panel. Neil is a qualified solicitor.
  22. Guess others have seen this as well, but acccording to reporters, the football league is to commission an independent enquiry into our accounts to determine the exact relationship between the holding company and club before deciding whether to dock points. The hope is that this will be done as quickly as possible but could still take a number of weeks. A painful wait and not that the open and shut case that the club was hoping for - as SSN also reports, one of the league's committee members is also closely associated to norwich city.
  23. Euell- no question. Is a more willing worker and better at bringing others in. If he gets less goals than rasiak, I think others will get more because of him. Can also slot into midfield if necessary.
  24. Certainly nothing came in from size and perry. Most balls came diagonally from rudi and lloyd but they were hardly hitting the touchlines. Can remember a lot of balls being hit from the half way line.
  25. It certainly seemed so with all the balls lobbed up to euell who was today posing as an old-fashion target man. Is extremely good in the air -at least ensured none of their lot won anything cleanly. Surman, saga, mcg and lallana were then able to pick up 2nd balls and play the neat on the ground stuff. Style-wise, today seemed like the biggest change all season, even since Wotte took over. And on first impressions, it seemed pretty effective.
