If the FL had clarified our status regards penalities and deductions, it would have been easier to sort matters, to expose Pinnacle sooner rather than later. If in the process of disputing a 10 point deduction, Pinnacle only retarded a possible sale and the paying of staff and player wages which may have exposed us to further punishment, that is unforgivable. Even more so if it has sown uncertainty into the minds of any of the remaining bidders.

f**kin sick

The Saints reporter didn't have a clue on Solent 10 mins ago - instead there was a long tirade against Fry's lack of communication and openness. Think somebody's jumped the gun....
-
not to worry salz will be at hand.

What we feared? Does it blow the idea that Pinnacle ever had any skin in the game, that Pinnacle wouldnt be making exaggerated claims because they had invested so much? http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4466156.Crouch_silent_on_Pinnacle_links/

Solent says fry and pinnacle have been meeting this morning. neither have been available for comment. pinnacle met the FL yesterday.

And so is guy whittingham! TL has got drunk on the limelight and has now closed the curtains, trying to shrug off the hangover.

I actually think that Lowe's refusal to sell anyone was a good decision at the time. Fact is Barclays acted like short-termist c**ts. They're going to lose more now than if they had waited for us to finish the season and we had then sold players.
-
As posted yesterday, I understand from a very good source that an 'announcement is imminent' -there will be a sale. Reading between the lines its probably not Pinnacle. Flogging a bunch of players in the run-up isnt inconsistent with any of this.
-
That's terrible. There are players you know who wanted to leave (DMG); there are players who could leave but seemed happy to stay - Kelvin falls into this category. Until now its been difficult to measure the impact of this farcical two months on the team (morale apart); should it go through, Kelvin's transfer is a turning-point - it represents a completely avoidable and unnecessary loss brought solely upon ourselves. Despite his better senses perhaps (at least professional), this was a player who had bags of commitment and was just waiting for the green light to finish his career with us. Apart from being our best player last season, his retention would have been a great consolation and confidence boost going forward. Thanks Kelvin for proving us wrong the last couple of seasons. Wish we could have reciprocated the gesture.

according to the great, mysterious salz, 'an announcement is imminent', at least, according to a mutual friend today. not sure what, who or whether he's equally in the dark as the rest of us and just restating the same horse**** we've all been fed but I like to think some people can see past cheap talk.

I understand that Bernie Madoff has had to pull out at the last minute.

Updates to Solent and South Today are one thing (and theyre more reputable than SSN); breathless, chummy messages to the forum are another.

Could the timing of the sale have had anything to do with meeting the Swiss? It was Fry's prerogative and decision to sell DMG, though still wanted to make sure this would not affect any possible takeover by the Swiss as leading party? Clutching somewhat....
-
Though they did sell stearman and hume for good money and loaned the likes of dj campbell out.
-
If anything, membership wouls be a nice little earner, a low-cost way of signalling your loyalty without splashing out for a ST while giving you priority for more important games. Alot of people kid themselves that they'll use their membership - what if value- but know deep down they wont (it didnt help them with Forest away last season, for instance). Thats not stopped them renewing their membership, however. That will be truer this year, so even less reason for the club to scrap it.

I might be wrong but did Fry explain his reasons for favouring Pinnacle? Assuming one moment that their wealth is real, are they in fact offering more money? As far as I understand, Fry just said that they pipped the Swiss to the post and that it was a close race (which of course might have been pure bluff and brinkmanship on Fry's part). Close races have often little to do with a few pennies and pounds at the margins; and more to do with the familiarity and credibility of the bid, that the party can in fact deliver. In this case, that was arguably enhanced by Pinnacle's headstart and earlier dealings with Fry and MLT's association.
-
Playing devils advocate, here. Do you think MLT's association with the Pinnacle bid might have swung Fry's initial choice? Remember that the existence of the Swiss bid materialised very late on and within a short space of time seemed to have caught up with Pinnacle which was already well established. However, push come to shove and with time running out, Fry concluded better the devil you know, esp with MLT's profile. Shame is Le Tiss didn't have special allegiances one way or the other - his only desire was to do all he could to save the club. It just happened that Pinnacle was vocal pretty early on and seemed the horse to back.
-
a) -10. While legitimate to make enquiries about, the points issue has turned into a convenient distraction for some parties.
-
Unless the prospective buyers have someone already lined up - and it appears the Swiss have alot to learn about the english leagues and if was a manager and I had been approached by Pinnacle, I would be having doubts, surely Wotte's hand has been strengthened by recent developments? We're less than a week from preseason friendlies, players don't know whether they are coming or going. The need for stability seems paramount at the moment.

If you haven't already heard the joke: Whats black and white and dead? ...Newcastle United COYR

Fanoušci Svatých si v současné chvíli pokládají jedinou otázku: Is this someone´s idea of a joke? nothing lost in translation there - couldn't have put it any better myself

+1. Replying and appeaing conciliatory to glib, attention-seeking, wind up merchants - there's more dignity shi*ting yourself in public.
-
The only concrete statement has been Fry's "he from a substantially wealthy family". Taken literally, we would dig up the guy's family tree and answers would be there. I would be surprised if his colleagues were not either fellow property people or part of the Jewish community (check out his facebook entry). Either way, its the case that when a Jewish person does something national or prominent, its talked about in the 'Community' - hence the JC story. If you have a strong footballing, financial or community background, you may know something.
-
Not claiming to be ITK or anything but I have connections with the 'Community' -sounds like the Sopranos or something. I've contacted some pretty prominent people -footballing and financially- and you know how quickly loshon hora spreads, knowledge is out in the open soon enough. Possibly they are keeping mouths shut but they confess to knowing nothing - and their tone suggests the latter. I was down yesterday, picked up a little bit with MLT's words and now realism has set back in. The silver lining is that Pinnacle is inadvertently setting the bar so low, I might now be pleased with any kind of deal should one go through.
