f**k this forum and tweeter malarkey. Lets have it old-school. Let things come back full circle as if the OS never been away.

Good point, the UK is historically known for having creditor-friendly laws as opposed to debtor-friendly ones (say France, the US). In the business world, that's a choice with specific advantages and disadvantages; but football is different because of the local communities it serves. That community interest is especially important for smaller clubs (which don't rely on worldwide audiences etc), the ones most likely to be hit by administration. The whole question needs to be examined again (if it has been at all).

What's the Echo news on Davis? Will be great additional news if he stays. Bart suffers too many rushes to the head to inspire real confidence. Fingers crossed today is the day. And if it goes all belly up one day, there's always Zurich's needle park to take the edge off. But counting on better times ahead.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-1197918/Charles-Sale-Whats-Fry-cooking-Saints-now.html Extremely interesting - as discussed on the forum on thursday http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=13902&page=80. Presumably Sale was tipped off (as i remember wilde was online at the time we were discussing this) or did someone write to the Mail themselves (hope you've now washed your hands)? No doubt BT will issue a statement faster than they've been milking the takeover. Hopefully there wont be (and in reality cant see there being) any negative fallout for completion. Congrats all round.

In honour, saints fans have to come up a chant combining Liebherr diggers, cranes and bulldozers and tearing down fratten park. It would be a massive waste otherwise!

How big an issue is this for them ? Just a bit of wounded pride or baffled amusement? If it is an issue, Fry and Pinnacle have got some real questions to answer...

Give Wotte a chance. Let his position be conditional on the first quarter of the season, at the very least. To achieve 86 points at the end of the season, which after the 10 points deduction, would have got us into the playoffs last year, we need to be on 11 points after 11/12 games. Surely that must be an initial target. Any haul below 5 points and I would start raising questions.

Good for me - QPR have acted atrociously, a bunch of erratic playboys with their weekly parade of supermodels and emphasis on style over substance -hence the chopping and changing of managers, the alienation of supporters with mercenary ticket prices to compensate for a mini dustbin of a ground. These Swiss boys know how to grow a company - and if their existing business links with the city played a role in their thinking, they may have a genuine and long-lasting commitment to the region and its wider economic development, the holy grail of football in the community. We do ourselves down but Southampton is a big city and the south coast is begging out for a footballing giant with sustainable foundations not feet of clay. This isnt crowded london town or the saturated north west. If executed properly, any owner would have a free run to realising this ambition. Caution? Hard-headed sense. Am getting carried away but this time seems to be for real. This is not 2007 and Paul Allen all over again. Fact is that we are in administration, the Swiss exist and as the man of many words, Fry has unambiguosly state a deal of some sort is agnosinglu close at hand - no wonder the Mail have got the name. Its probably known to the entire world outside the Forum and the Valser mineral water is being crated into SMS under cover of night for the press conference as we speak... STID

Try kicking these bad-boys, tony.

We need a LB and combative midfielder asap. Not altogether surprising that rasiak and patterson won't work together. One slow, lanky bast*rd upfront is enough.

that's hooky in the back, isn't it? so yes, must be monaco.

He says he worked for many years selling hygiene products, then had a midlife crisis aged 38 and decided to chase excitement, which led him to chance his luck in football. When I walked through Douglas Craig's door," he recalls, "I really was a toilet-roll salesman with nothing more than a load of debt." F**k off, you spachelor

Sounds positive. For the first time, i'm projecting cautious optimism into his photo on the OS, not the butt-clenched, gallows grimace of a man who has no idea what to do with us The good times are nearly back. Maybe one day I'll even be able to look back at this period with fondness. All the drama - has certainly made the dead summer months pass alot quicker.
-
got to be a stitch-up - not even atttracted a whiff of interest from the locals. last time SSN broke news on SFC, it was about those jokers from Guernsey which were shortly never heard of again and MF's big unveiling...
-
I see a RB. Think LB is much more of a Achilles Heel now that Skacel and Surman - both who were ill-suited for the position- have gone.
-
Smart thinking- is perfect for L!. My only worry is that we might lack a bit of pace at the back. A problem?
-
Please no
-
Lets not forget Gasmi or Pullis either.
-
Disappointing - apart from his genorosity in giving away pens, he was easily one of our better players in the last 3-4 months.
-
JP was obsessed with youth, so alot of the earlier, bag of s**te signings like Peckart were his. I think Wotte is slightly shrewder and has a bit more respect for experience. JPS was definitely his, though it appears he would have gone to the stake for Ryan Smith. He also tried to get Deeneboom, Blackstock and Scowcroft on loan which looked OK on paper.
-
More than happy to give him a go and want him to succeed, especially when others in our team have been given plenty of chances and done very little. Still you rarely get something for nothing. Just as a comparison, Leicester this time last season had signed Bulgarian internation/Champions League regular Aleksandar Tunchev from CSKA Sofia. I'm not saying that we can or should follow in their footsteps but point out that some European leagues standards drop very quckly outside the top flight.

in the hole, a DMG replacement or possibly an indicator that many other strikers are on their way out? the OS didnt say he currently plays for a semi-pro team K.S.V. Roeselare.
-
correct - in the same position, all you can do is report information accurately and faithfully. nothing more. that it turned out bogus is another matter. it doesn't even appear that he tried to big things up or convert nonbelievers.
-
Les ferdinand esp in his qpr days - so direct and had an unnerving ability to find the bottom corner from outside the area.

will do for me [-o
